Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: The response from the front desk was that Aetna was accepted and in network - at no time, was this corrected, even after repeated discussions about having met our full co-insurance and payments. Why would we come to and pay for an out of network provider? Caveat Emptor - The business is correct in one field - check, double check and triple check your insurance cover and never ever believe any verbal responses, as typically businesses responses can be erratic and confusing - there is a big difference between "we accept all insurances", "we accept AETNA", defacto most would believe then to be an in network provider or at least tell the patient, which obviously didnt happen! Dont rely of this business to amplfy or explain verbally - it didnt happen in our case.Sincerely, [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]We stand behind the employees at the front desk when they said we do accept all insurances, however,we are not preferred providers, nor have we been preferred providers for Aetna, for at least the pastten years. We stand behind our response that an insurance contract is between a patient and their insurancecompany. We cannot know all the details of each person's policy. As we said in the first response, allpatients read and sign a financial policy agreement to clarify their responsibilities and ours in advance. In fact, SH initialed this clause: "The patient/parent understands that it is ultimately their responsibilityto know their chiropractic/physical therapy benefits & coverage, as our office is not responsible forverification of benefits."All consumers, ie. patients, have a certain level of due diligence. All consumers of health plans are givenplan benefit booklets that describe the terms of their plan and the proper way they are to verify whatprovider is in network with their specific benefit plan. This is the obligation of the consumer as thecontract is held between them and the health plan.We have MANY patients who are treated in our clinic who have insurance policies in which we are notpreferred providers. They continue to come to our clinic because we provide excellent service and care.Aetna is not preferred in MANY clinics in Alaska. Our policies are not erratic nor confusing. We have not had this problem with other patients. We are sorry that SH is unhappy. As far as we are concerned, this matter is closed.

We also want it noted that an insurance policy is a contract between patient andinsurance company. It is a patient's responsibility to know what their contractcovers; especially what providers or hospitals are on their preferred provider list.
