Complaint3 cords of firewood ordered, delivered, and paid for. After stacking realized Less than 2 cords received. Contacted [redacted] contracting to notify of mistake. Wood is stacked and is less than 256 sq ft. Should have been 384sf Originally contractor told me they would refund $250.00, but then called back and told me I should have been able to tell how much was delivered because I was here when it was delivered. It is difficult to estimate wood that is dumped in a pile prior to stacking. The conversation became heated and I was hung up on. I had to wait 1 month to stack wood due to an injury. Ordered [redacted] Finished stacking on [redacted] I only expect to get what I paid for...Desired SettlementRefund of [redacted]Business Response On [redacted] was our first notice from the Revdex.com on this matter, we received no other correspondence. On [redacted] 156 Barre-Paxton rd, Rutland called my driver to complain that he felt he was short on his delivery. Driver told him he would have me contact him on this matter, driver said nothing about any money or volume of wood, simply that [redacted] would be contacted directly. I did contact [redacted] to discuss the matter. He stated he ordered 3 cords of firewood and now claims he did not even receive 1 1/2 cords of woods. I explained first of all that firewood is not sold by the "cord" in Massachusetts per weight & measures it must be sold by the cubic foot. All advertisements and receipts are in cubic footage. He ordered 384 cubic feet. We made 2 separate deliveries each 192 cubic feet. [redacted] was present and observed both deliveries issuing a check on the second delivery. I expressed to [redacted] that it was highly unlikely that he was 192 cubic feet short. He started to become very upset with me. He then insisted that I bring him an additional cord of wood. I stated again that it is sold by the cubic foot not cord. He became very angry and stated that I am supposed to be an honest businessman. Again explaining that I am honest and that's why its sold by the cubic foot. He then became verbally abusive and told me "[redacted]", at this point I did end the call. This delivery was done on [redacted] and he didn't reach out until [redacted] We had cold weather during the month time frame that he waited. He indicated to me that he had an injury that prevented him from stacking the wood. I stated that maybe he should have postponed the delivery due to his injury.Had he been reasonable, I would have been willing to work this out with him. Now due to his violent attitude the safety for my staff and myself is now a concern and I was not interested in any further contact with him.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I called the driver (Viti) after stacking firewood and he stated they would refund $250.00, so the first paragraph of this response is inaccurate. I was surprised that I was argued with when I was called back. My expectations were to be treated as a customer and for the company to make this right. The weather was not cold and I had not burned any wood prior to calling to inform of the shortage. I stated I stacked and realized I only received less than 256 sq. ft. As stated previously, it is unreasonable to expect a customer to look at a pile of firewood and determine square footage prior to stacking. Had this company been reasonable, I would not have become upset. My words in no way reflected a "violent attitude"! I do not deny being upset. The argumentative tone when called back was bothersome and reflective of a bad business transaction from this company! The bottom line is I paid for 384 sf and received less than 256 sf. I believe in getting what you pay for and not being argued with when notifying a company of their discrepancy. I will not have any further contact with this business as they are thieves.
