My wife and I were bumped from an oversold flight We arrived 21/hours before flight time The system would not allow us to obtain etickets the previous dayWe'd had confirmed (and paid for) reservations for monthsThis was the first of legs to return to the U.SWe were told the flight had been full for weeks but we could be wait listed We had a chance to rent a car and drive to the next destination and make the next flight if we left immediately and did so If we waited and both could not get on the flight (the attendant said it would be unlikely), the next flight to our destination was in daysThe airline says that since we did not wait to be officially bumped, they don't wish to give us refunds for that flight
