Larue Veterinary Clinic

My elderly West Highland Terrier had to have emergency vet care and ended up having to be put to sleep. The way I was treated by the receptionist, Misty, was unacceptable. I first called to check on my dog after surgery and Misty yelled at me telling me it was my fault my dog was sick. I had been bringing my dog to the vet for urinary tract infections and had done all that the doctor had instructed me to do (including giver her antibiotics, cranberry pills, etc.) Misty had suggested I try a new food, but my friend who breeds West Highland Terriers told me she hadn't had luck with that food, and it was very expensive. The vet never told me to switch foods, so I did not. Misty told me that I had caused my dog to be so sick because I had not changed her food. I called to check on my dog who was dying, feeling helpless and of course wondering if I could have done anything else to help her, and the woman I talked to made me feel horrible.
I called again when they told me I could come see my dog, and asked if I could bring some of her blankets to help her feel more comfortable. Again, I talked to Misty. She told me that I could bring blankets, but that they would be ruined because they would get covered in blood; she said that their bedding was all ruined from my dog's blood. I again think that this is an unacceptable way to speak to someone who is dealing with their dog dying.
Next I got the notice that my dog was suffering and was not going to pull through. I live alone and did not have a friend who could come with me at the last minute to say goodbye to my dog and have her put to sleep. I arrived in distress to see Misty there first telling me that I had to pay before I could see my dog. Then I talked to another of the receptionists who I like and asked her if she could come in the room with me; Misty interrupted and said that I had to go in there alone. Her tone in all of these interactions was extremely rude and condescending. She lacks compassion and should not work in a healthcare setting.
