Review: I was a tenant of Las Lomas Village from 1/12/14 to 5/30/15. On 5/8/15, I received a notice inserted through my apt. door informing me that my rental lease would expire and I had 30 days with which to vacate 9138 Ciruela Way. I subsequently notified manager N[redacted] that I would vacate apartment 9138 Ciruela Way on May 30th, 2015. She sent an electronic return message acknowledging my intentions. Mr. T[redacted], maintenance engineer, would meet me at apt. and I would return all items provided, upon my orig[redacted]l occupancy date of Jan. 12th 2015,at 11AM that same morning. I therefore vacated the premises entirely. On June 21st, 2015, I received via U.S. Mail a refund statement from Las Lomas Village dated June 8th, 2015 with various charges for cleaning and repainting of said apartment. I also received a "padded bill" with obscure charges not specifically delineated reasons. It included water usage charges for $19.99. I had previously paid a water usage charge approximately 3 weeks prior. This charge alone was questionable, as how had I consumed close to twenty dollars of water within 3-4 weeks, when none of my previous water bills were as steep. I was also charged $110. for garage door repairs as Ms. N[redacted] stated I failed to return an emergency garage access key. I have documentation signed by her which shows I was NEVER provided with said key. In conclusion, I was also billed a further rent charge of $280.98 for the days June 1st through June 6th inclusive, including a $100. dollar late fee for days I no longer lived there. I vacated well within the 30 day notice so why am I responsible for rent when I vacated upon conclusion of my May rent? I never signed any lease to rent the apt. for the month of June.Desired Settlement: I would like an explanation of obscure billing amounts as well as a refund of $280. plus $100. late fee for days I no longer occupied premises.Management acknowledged the fact that I had no intention of still occupying the premises beyond May 30 yet they failed to notify me verbally or in writing of their intention to bill me additional monies and deduct it from my security deposit. I consider her lack of proper communication with me to be in bad faith and her business practices deceptive.
