Please see the attached answer to the complaint.  Thank you.September 24, 2015Revdex.comSanta Fe, NM 87504Re:  Complaint ID # [redacted]I am in receipt of the complaint filed by [redacted] and [redacted].  The following is my written response. As per the [redacted]’s...

complaint, I did go to work as a Groundskeeper for the property located at [redacted]. I had worked there for a couple of months as such before the roof job on the guest house and residence which initiated this complaint.GUESTHOUSE ROOF:  As per the letter/complaint, I did examine the guesthouse roof with [redacted] and discovered a few bubbles. Upon inspection of the roof I advised her that the roof needed attention and vents. She refused to have vents put on the roof.  She stated at the time that she did not like the way they looked.  I, at that time, was given her approval to commence repairing the bubbles which we saw initially and apply the GacoFlex product.  When the roof was completed, [redacted] instructed me to put granules on the roof as she wanted it, in her words, to be “like icing on a cake”.  Upon completion, I had [redacted] Representative who sold me the GacoFlex product and is a GacoFlex product representative through [redacted], inspect the roof.  He advised me that it looked good.   RESULT ON GUESTHOUSE ROOF:  After the roof job, Santa Fe had several days of torrential rains/hail before the numerous “blisters” appeared on the roof.  I examined the roof and saw that where I made the initial repairs to the “bubbles” that it had held up and not “re-bubbled”.  However, there were bubbles which appeared on other parts of the roof.  I immediately asked [redacted] to allow me to cut out the bubbles that had surfaced to allow it to dry out so that I could then recoat as well as allow me to install vents.  I knew that time was of the essence and there were forecasts for more rain which would be detrimental to the existing problem, if not addressed quickly. [redacted] would not even consider it.  I was told by [redacted] to get off her property.  After phone calls and e-mail to [redacted] I was allowed to meet with [redacted], GacoFlex Representative to view the roof.  Hence, the Inspection Repair Report was generated by them (attached).  I asked [redacted] to allow me to do the repairs based on the report.  She was very adamant that she didn’t want me to touch the roof and that she wanted a new roof.MAIN HOUSE ROOF:  I began the application of the GacoFlex product on the Main House.  The house had vents and no visible “bubbles”.  I commenced application of the GacoFlex product.  Once again I was told by [redacted] to put granules to make it look like “icing on a cake”. Upon completion, [redacted] inspected the roof and said that it looked good.  Please note that the torrential rains/hail loosened some of the granules which ultimately led to the excess falling off the roof of the Guest House and Main House roof.   RESULT ON MAIN HOUSE ROOF: Once again after the torrential rains/hail there appeared a couple of blisters.  This would be essentially a much easier repair. Per [redacted], GacoFlex Representative (see e-mail July 9) he noted a few blisters that had been caused by trapped water in the foam which he stated was not uncommon due to water being used during cleaning.  This roof was non-problematic and the blisters could and would have been addressed.  I requested that I be allowed to repair and once again was told by [redacted] that she didn’t want me to touch the roof and that she wanted a new roof.I had numerous telephone conversations with [redacted] and requested that I be allowed to do the repairs per the Gaco Inspection Repair Report.  I also made that request via e-mail.  (Please see attached).  I was confident that I could “make this right” by the [redacted]’s but I was just not given the chance to do so.  Out of the $72,000.00 which the [redacted]’s want reimbursed:-$67,093.00 was for the roof job-$3,200.00 was for 3 weeks of grounds keeper duties (their Check #[redacted] for $2,400 and #[redacted] for $854.00)-$2,000.00 (#[redacted]) was for “tree pine needle” cleanup done on entire 5 acres of residence. Also, please note a copy of my check to Mr. [redacted] in the amount of $5,000.00 (attached) which was an overpayment and oversight on his part, which I brought to his attention and quickly reimbursed him. The $3,200.00 had nothing to do with the roof job.  I did my Groundskeeper responsibilities and was not told anything to the contrary until the roof problem surfaced.  The $2,000.00 also had nothing to do with the roof job as I had all the “tree pine needles” cleaned up.   I again was not told anything to the contrary until this roof situation.Per the [redacted]’s complaint, I was given the option of paying back $72,000.00 (which as noted above is not the correct amount for the roof job alone).  I was never given an option or chance to do address the issues. With regards to [redacted]’s written statement that I threatened to place a Restraining Order because they were trying to reach me and that I wouldn’t respond is simply untrue. I have in my possession recorded threatening phone calls from Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] as well as visits to my home in Santa Fe and my relative’s property 65 miles out of Santa Fe by Mrs. [redacted].  This is what prompted discussion with my attorney about a Restraining Order if it didn’t stop and for no other reason.Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] are being unrealistic as per their complaint, they not only want $72,000.00 they want an additional $150,000.00 for a new roof.  This alone shows what I’ve had to deal with in regards to no cooperation to come to a resolution to this situation.  I hope that this answer will shed some light on the situation as it unfolded.  I have always been committed to quality and customer satisfaction.  I know, given the chance, I could have addressed and taken care of the issues.I thank you in advance for your attention and fair approach to this complaint.Sincerely,Manuel C[redacted]
