Our company has made a good
faith effort in an attempt to work
with both *** *** and her daughter *** *** and as of today we
consider this matter to be resolved on all levelsOn March 21st,
our property, University Station, received the full payment in question
which leaves *** *** free of her financial obligations with Peak
Campus ManagementIf any additional information is required at this time
please reach out to our property manager Casey *** ** *** ***Property ManagerUniversity Station

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]
Regards,
*** *** *** made numerous complaints about not being notified before her apartment was enteredIn December 2014, for example, she told the office staff that she was going to be away for the holidays and was assured no one would enter her apartmentShe placed strings on her floor before she left and returned to find them trampled around the apartmentAfter *** was caught half-dressed, and on another occasion, when the personal items on her dresser were moved around, she complained to the officeIn summer 2015, she complained that the garbage was not being removed(*** told me University Station had a
disagreement with the contractor and therefore exposed the tenants to
rodent and insect infestations.) Apparently, these and other complaints were not recordedThe second time the inspection crew let themselves in with their pass key (summer 2015), even though she had called out to them to wait until she finished dressing (they did not even have the decency to go back out into the hall until she finished dressing and instead wandered around the apartment "inspecting"), she was so upset she decided she could no longer live where she did not feel safe and notified the office of her intention to moveThe lease says quarterly inspections will be madeOhio law says tenants must be given 24-hours warningUniversity Station says they posted notices on the doors*** never saw a notice on her door or any other door on her floorUniversity Station sent me a sample noticeIt said that inspections would take place over a 48-hour periodExpecting a tenant to stay home--and fully dressed--for days is unreasonableIn addition, University Station is not exclusively a student residenceIt is required to rent to low-income adult members of the community*** is an adult graduate student and has had her own apartments for a number of yearsUniversity Station prefers to treat all its tenants as irresponsible adolescents and is more concerned with protecting its investments than their tenants safety and rights.University Station says it asked its employees if they had walked in on *** while she was dressing or fondled her personal objects and they said they had notDo they really believe--and expect me to believe--that the men would admit to such outrageous and illegal behaviors? The staff frequently harassed ***On the last inspection, for example, they accused her of smoking in the apartment*** does not smokeShe is so sensitive to the smell of smoke that it gives her crippling headaches that last for daysQuite possibly, the staff was trying to frighten her out of making another complaint (which would not be recorded any way).As *** stated, *** no longer has her email communications with Ms***I asked *** to retrieve Ms*** communications with ***I was told that since Ms*** no longer worked at University Station, her account had been closed and the records were no longer availableIt is unfortunate that ***'s communications were lostIt is symptomatic of University Station's bad business practices that they do not keep copies of their employees emailsOf course, that allows them to say that they are unable to investigate complaints*** stated that they had very few tenant complaints on fileGiven ***'s experiences, I was not surprised. I told *** I wanted to be sure that my complaint was part of the public record and asked her for a copy of my complaintShe sent me something that left out most of the complaintI did not receive an answer to my requests for a more complete statement*** did submit her moinspection formNothing was wrong at the timeShortly after, a friend visited with a catThe cat damaged the couch, which was noted on the next inspectionShe was told it would be repairedIt never wasThe move-out inspection invoice said the couch needed to be replacedWhen I told University Station that we wanted the old couch, Casey said it had been reupholstered instead of replaced and reduced the billHad I not requested the old couch, we would have paid twice the final cost! Nevertheless, and despite promises the couch would be repaired, it wasn't repaired until after she moved outShe paid for the repair, but never got to enjoy it.She did NOT damage the freezer doorMore likely, it was damaged by an inspection crew while they horsed around in her apartment while she wasn't thereThe cost of replacing the door was, like the couch costs, egregiously overstatedNot only was *** asked to pay for a damage she did not caused, she was overchargedUniversity Station eventually reduced the charge, but did not remove it from the bill.Yes, University Station offered a payment planThe first version asked me to cosign it even though I was not a guarantorWe chose not to accept the revised payment plan so we would not have to deal with University Station any longerI was concerned that, as in the past, we would end up liable for errors on their partI was told that the matter was being turned over to a credit agency in seven daysI repeatedly told Nick Nowaki, the regional manager, that I would pay the bill in full but that I wanted copies of the full complaintsHe told me I was to take his email as confirmation that this was doneSince University Station had no record of ***'s complaints and ***'s version was excessively incomplete, I do not believe the complaints are part of University Station's public recordsI have experienced too many University Station liesI want to see the records.*** moved because management practices left her feeling violated and unsafe in her homeThe timing was inconvenient and the costs were highTo be threatened into paying for damages she did not cause on top of all she experienced while living at University Station is outrageous and unconscionableTo not change their inspection practices and therefore leave other women vulnerable is reprehensible

I was not able to attach more than one file to the complaint I made yesterday. After speaking with one of your representatives, I emailed my daughter's permission, the invoice, and my latest round of communication with Nick [redacted] University Station's district manager.
