Lashes By Design

I had taken lashes by designs permanent makeup course starting january 28th and ending on february 1st. I was guaranteed to have models given to me to give me hands on practice and to build my portfolio for when I go home. I attended the course and receieved 1 model out of 4-5 that I was supposed to have. The only other woman in my class received a discount because she was a returning student and had taken a lash course before in 2016. She was told not to tell me and that she had receieved a discount. I was upset because I am also a returning student so I could have applied for this discount but they did not tell me nor wanted me to know this was going on, in 2016 I also took their lash course. I should have been treated the same as the other student that got models, a discount and pictures. She did not want to give it to me for some reason. I was not given any compensation for this and was not given a certificate stating that I had finished the theory portion of the course so I could get insurance to be able to do people in my own salon back at home. I asked for a paper stating I finished the theory portion of the course and was told I was not able to have that. I stated to the director of training that I needed this information/ certificate/ piece of paper to get insurance and fax it to my insurance company. My insurance company has asked for my certificate but again, I do not have one. My models in my hometown do not want me to touch them without a paper showing I have taken the course. They refuse to do anything. I asked for a paper and they refused. Now I paid $5,500 (more than what I owe for college), on my credit card and NOTHING to show for it. I can't get clients in to be models because I don't have any precious pictures of work in class and I do not have a certificate saying I even took the course. The director was very unprofessional and did not care that I could not take more time off to come back up there and redo course or sit in on another course because my mom has cancer. Again, she did not seem to care. I don't really know what else to do about this. All I want is a certificate stating I took the theory part of their course. I have taken permanent makeup courses in peterborough ontario (*** by ***) and receieved a certificate upon the last day of my theory. When I mentioned this she bashed the other academy and said that was wrong.
