Review: There was a $50.00 deposit put down on a tattoo with an artist in this tattoo shop. After each visit the deposit was to be carried over until last visit then taken off my final payment. The artist left the shop and when contacting the shop to get refund of my deposit the owner refused to give me any of the deposit back. The artist was given half the money so the shop owner kept half of the deposit and that was what I wanted refunded and he refused to. The deposit was for services until done and now will not be done at this shop so I am due the deposit back.Desired Settlement: I want the shop to refund atleast half the deposit back to me. That is the right and fair thing to do.

I'm forwarding a copy of the deposit form (in my next email) which is signed when a customer reserves time with our studio.

The deposit form is self explanatory. It is deducted from the cost of tattoo not rolled over until last visit as stated in complaint. The artist who started the customers tattoo was fired from our studio for poor customer services among other things. We offered to complaining customer to honor the full deposit that was initially put down, $50 even though 50% was already paid to the fired artist we would "eat" the $25 to keep her patronage. We never promise to return deposits to be used at a competitors place of business; as she states she will be going elsewhere.

Also, the customer did not request only half of the deposit, but stated that the fired artist told her to get the $50 deposit from us instead of honoring her deposit at his new place of business. As stated above the deposits are non-refundable; we surely aren't going to give back a non-refundable deposit to be used elsewhere.

The complaining guest has sat in our studio for more than 30 hours, at this rate of service with the fired artist the deposit was more absorbed. This customer has also rescheduled appointments with less than 24 hours notice which absorbs the deposit immediately as stated on deposit form.

I am rejecting this response because: The deposit is used to keep an appointment as stated. I not once rescheduled an appointment without giving 24 hour notice. I would love for the owner to prove this statement as it is a lie. I did call once to see about rescheduling do to illness but did not cancel I went ahead and kept the appointment. The issues the owner has with the artist are not my issues that has nothing to do with me. I have gotten the 25.00 deposit from the artist. The 25.00 this previous shop is keeping is not his to keep. It doesnt matter why the artist was fired or quit it matters that after each appointment I had the deposit carried over to the next visit. And usually that means that on your last visit the deposit is still there so it does get taken off your final visit bill. This whole situation is a simple fix he owes the money back to me. There will be no proff of a missed visit since there wasnt one. I do not choose to go to his shop to finish work another artist started. So he has no right to say I lose the deposit since I wont stay at his shop.
