Lasting Improvements, LLC

Lasting Improvements did not install my roof, but were sent by the warranty company to repair leaks after the original installers went out of business The leaks were difficult (the original company failed to fix them) BUT:
1) I had to call Lasting Imprepeatedly & getting a confirmed date was difficult
2) They put a 4" flange on a 3" pipe & caulked to try to make it work, claiming the caulk would outlast the roof
3) After months & at least four trips out, my plaster falling, they decided it was a plumbing leak The picture of the tiny round spot half-way up the pipe could no way cause that, but they didn't listen I emailed the picture to a plumbing company who responded they'd be happy to help, but they hated to waste my money as they could tell from the picture it definitely wasn't a plumbing leak I forwarded that email to the roofers, who responded it was their "professional" opinion it was a plumbing leak I paid $*** for the plumbers to come out & confirm it wasn't a plumbing leak (The plumbers DID find a nail-hole leak that Lasting Improvements had NOT found.) When I forwarded the plumbers' report to Lasting Improvements, they didn't even bother to reply
5) At this point (thank goodness) the warranty company brought in new roofers It took the new roofers TWO trips to fix the leaks, but they did fix them The new roofing company scraped off & replace the caulking Lasting Improvement had added (I watched it peel right off), redid the shingles around the vent pipe, lowered the umbrella on the HVAC pipe (took seconds), fixed the nail-hole leak the plumbers had found, and caulked the HVAC inside the attic After two bad experiences (the original roofers who justifiably went out of business & this one), it was quite a relief

The "Hailstorm of the *** of ***, ***" will be remembered by the residents of ***, ***, just one county 'North' of ***, for quite some time The entire county (residential, government, and commercial) sustained massive amounts of "baseball to softball-sized" hail damage (You can '***' the date and "Hail Storm *** ***" and gets lots of stories and pictures to see how widespread the damage was.) It was devastating, both literally and mentally, to those of us that experienced it, that day As a homeowner-handyman in *** that had never had to deal with claiming anything on his home-owner's insurance, having a patient team of agents --of my particular insurance company-- was a relief One of those agents (I forget which, now) happened to recommend that I go with contacting a company *not* in my town but to choose a company from nearby ***--as the local (in-town) companies would likely be swamped with calls --AND business/work-- due to the magnitude of the damage, here The company that this insurance agent recommended to me was Lasting Improvements (LI) I did my due diligence in exploring their (LI) company history, low complaint count, and Revdex.com affiliation, before deciding to give them a call It has been, quite simply, a huge relief that I did this, throughout the ensuing year since the storm Lasting Improvements was able to work on fixing and improving my home while other companies (local and not) struggled to fix other properties in the same timeframe My house is 'fixed' and better than it was before, in the middle of ***, while other homes and businesses still have shattered siding, tarped roofs, and plywood-covered windows, even into *** * of *** (when I sat down to write this business review) As a handyman, I have the knowledge and understanding of each of the 'industries' (plumbing, air-conditioning, siding, roofing, masonry, electrical, etc.) that this hail storm had affected in/on my home Working with LI meant that *all* of the industries were under one banner so I had only one phone number to call when checking on progress or asking about any particular "punch list" item in the ensuing months this fact alone made the whole process very pleasant AND less stressful, too! Lasting Improvements was so 'with it,' compared to the other companies working on nearby homes, that a few neighbors and friends (exasperated with their own 'slow' contractors) came to my front door to ask about LI's efficiency - to which I happily referred them to 'my' (LI) contractor! My only regret is not getting the name of the (out-of-state) insurance agent that recommended LI in the first place they deserve a 'Card of Thanks,' of not a medal, for steering me toward Lasting Improvements from day one! I am so glad I went with a company that had all of the industries 'under one roof' instead of trying to piecemeal the process myself; thank you, Lasting Improvements!
