Latite Roofing and Sheet Metal reroofed my home - See the qualilty for yourself
Latite Roofing and Sheet Metal just completed the reroof on my home 06/28/2022. I am 100% dissatisfied with the quality and workmanship of this $87,000.00 roof. I have complained many times about the workmanship, as pathetic as it as this may sound, I begged them to do a good job, they ignored my complaints and just continued on to complete my roof and this is their response to me. I am quoting Steve Filibean, Senior Project Manager at Latite Roofing "The quality of all of our roof systems are built to withstand the constant sun, rain, wind, and tropical storms of our South Florida climate. I would hope that after a couple of hurricanes, you will have a better appreciation of your roof system" - These pictures are of my roof, all workmanship credit goes to Latite Roofing and Sheet Metal Pompano Beach, FL

Latite did a re-roof on my house in 2009. There were many issues, unprofessional customer service, rotten wood that was simply left in place etc.
I hired Latite Roofing to perform a re-roof in 2009. The entire experience was a nightmare. The work performed was unskilled and unprofessional. The contract outlined to carefully remove the gutters in order to re-use them, they were badly damaged and could not be re-used. The contract also stated that the existing copper sheeting from the roof was not to be removed from the property, it was removed. There were countless other issues during and after the re-roof was completed as in a couple of leaks just days after completion, roof tiles that broke right after the install and not replaced, etc. Subsequently in October 2009 I hired a Roofing Consultant because of all the issues that were known at the time and numerous issues that were uncovered during inspection by the Roofing Consultant. I have attached the report herewith. In spite of the Roofing Consultants' findings, they never rectified any of it.
Just now, not even 11 years past the re-roof, the roof has started to leak again.

Desired Outcome

The Roofing Consultant's Report speaks for itself. A roof like this should last at least 20+ years without any issues.

Ms. Please contact our main office in Pompano Beach, we have no record of any repairs or services to your roof but we do see your warranty expired on 2013. We have been in the roofing industry for over 75 years and would like the opportunity to service your roof, if needed.

Incomplete new roof intall
I went into contract October XX XXXX with Latite Roofing Company. It is now April 14th 2020 and my roof has not been completed. The company has informed me that they ran out of tile to complete my home two weeks ago. No one has contacted me as to If they ordered the tile or an estimate time of a completion. I've reached out to their Senior VP *** several times and have not received a call back. Tomorrow I have an appointment with my legal counsel to try and recoup the money I have paid to date approximately $30,000.
To date the work they have done has ruin my lawn and they crushed several sprinkler heads, They also have broken pieces of tile in my pool and have stain my recently installed decking around my pool.

Desired Outcome

Just complete my roof

Latite Roofing & Sheet Metal Response • Apr 22, 2020

We would like to apologize to our client for the lack of communication regarding delivery date on the material shortage. We have been working diligently to complete his home and as of today, 4/21, we have completed the tile work and are working on final prep with a scheduled inspection by 4/29. It is our desire to keep our clients informed throughout the process but during the Covid-19 shutdowns we were faced with uncontrollable circumstances.
We encourage our client to call into our office should he have any questions or concerns.

A roof leak was repaired in September 2017. With heavy rains in June of 2018, the exact same leak was apparent.
Because Latite was the original roofer for our 5 year old home, we contacted them for repair of a leak in August of 2017. They were not able to repair the leak until after the hurricaine in September. Initially the repair seemed to be without problems, but with heavy rains in June 2018, the ceiling in our home became wet again.
I was informed by email from Estefannia Sanchez of Latite that there is no warranty coverage. "I apologize for the inconvenience, but the repairs done almost a year ago does not have any warranty to it."

Desired Outcome

Since the work was not done correctly and the leak persists during heavy rain (as the leak did before the repair), I should be refunded the amounts already paid for the non-repair. An alternative solution is to properly complete the repair, however I am in the process of seeking alternative contractors to speed the repair along. Their customer service during their prior repair was terrible and they have been nearly impossible to work with.

Latite Roofing & Sheet Metal Response • Jul 20, 2018

First and foremost, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused Mr., as well as any miscommunicaiton from our Service Department. Mr. roof was still under warranty and would have been covered by the terms and conditions of Latite Warranty had it been a re-leak at the original repair site. This was truly a miscommunication as Latite Roofing stands behind their warranty. We have addressed this with our Service Staff to improve our internal/external communciation. It is always our desire to have a satisfied customer and if Mr. should ever need service on his roof, we would welcome the opportunity to exceed his expections.

While the language of the response seems correct, it does not go far enough in correcting the damages that I have suffered.
Because of a significant error by a front line employee (informing me that there was no warranty on my roof repair); a second contractor was contacted and repaired the roof. Had Latite repaired the roof correctly in the first place or the employee had given me correct information, I would not have contacted another party.
I feel that Latite should refund the cost of the original repair, as it was not done correctly, or reimburse me for the cost of the second roof repair because of their errors.

Latite Roofing & Sheet Metal Response • Aug 22, 2018

We are working with him and going over some credit we will issue because of the misunderstanding.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Although a partial repayment of the expenses incurred has been offered, the amount is significantly less that the dollar expended. It is a better than nothing solution for the consumer, but in my mind does not complete the obligation of the service provider.

Roof repaired on 2/16/2018. In 05/18 it started leaking in same spot. Have been calling them everyday for 3 weeks to get it fixed. they will not call.
Had them out to fix part of my roof, paid them for repair but the first rain we had since the repair it started leaking. I have called them everyday for 3 weeks, and they will not return any calls. I need to get my roof fixed before it damages my frayed and faux painted ceiling to point there is mold and structural damage. I paid them to do this, so they need to stand behind their work and pay for any damages since I contacted them about the faulty repair.

Desired Outcome

Repair the leak correctly and repair any damage to my house since I reported the faulty repair to them on 05/10 or refund my money so I can have it repaired by someone else.

Latite Roofing & Sheet Metal Response • Jun 15, 2018

On Feb 2018 we repaired three (3) leak areas. We recieved a releak complaint on May 29 and we scheduled a repair crew for June 6th to repair the leaking area. The repair was completed on June 6th and unfortunately, the stains on his ceiling were prior to our 1st repair in February. We apologize for the delay he experienced. Due to the unusual amount of rain, we have received over 200 calls per day and we are currently on a 3 week schedule backlog. We are deligently working to reach every customer as quickly as we can. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused as it is our desire to have a satisfied customer.

Outright lie. I contacted them daily for close to a month with no response, and filed this complaint prior to them getting me on any schedule. Only after I filed this complaint, AND I CALLED BACK AGAIN DID THEY COME OUT! THEY NEVER CONTACTED ME! And the damage is worse now than before their attempted repair. I have a $20,000 ceiling that has been damaged by them. THIS WAS NOT ABOUT SCHEDULE BACKLOG, THIS WAS ABOUT NOT RESPONDING TO THE CUSTOMER. AFTER COMPLAINT WAS FILED AND I CALLED YOU AGAIN I WAS ON THE SCHEDULE FOR REPAIR IN 2 DAYS. PLEASE BE TRUTHFUL IN YOUR RESPONSES. Your blatant lie about when I contacted you first just goes to show what lack of ethics your business has. What a joke. Why lie? What purpose does that serve? I left messages for your corporate office, for your billing, for your production department, with *** the project manager who to quote said when I called him back 5 days after contacting him the first time "I DON"T KNOW WHY THEY HAVE NOT GOTTEN BACK TO YOU, LET ME CALL THE OFFICE AGAIN" to which I never heard any response. I called every day for more than 3 weeks to report the roof leak, and each time I was called was told I would receive a call back and that they would make this a priority. Never heard back from anyone till I filed complaint, and again only when I called back. And NO, the stains I showed your tech are new and much larger than the original stain that I called you for. Otherwise, why would you have done a re-repair? This matter could have been easily resolved by the re-repair you did, but instead you have to lie. Again, why?????? Just tell the truth and be honest. There is nothing worse than a dishonest roofer you cannot trust.

Latite Roofing & Sheet Metal Response • Jul 16, 2018

Latite Roofing and Sheet Metal completed the repair on June 6th. We apologize for the delay and frustation he was caused. We aim to provide a high standard of service and hope, if needed, that he will use our services in the future without any problems or delays.

They wrongly charged a huge amount to my credit card, which I disputed through my bank, and now Latite sent to me a bill for more money I do not owe.
On October 26th 2017 Latite Roofing and Sheet Metal wrongly charged $2,035.00 to my credit card, when the correct amount was $221.25. I did dispute the wrong amount with my bank, and my bank gave me a credit for $1,813.75, that way I was paying to Latite the $221.25 that I owed to them, as a last payment for the job on my roof. I did the dispute trough my bank because I was not willing to wait who knows how long for getting my money back directly from them, since I had to call them almost daily for over three weeks or so to make them come again to my house to finish the job on the roof.

Since the beginning of 2018 I have received calls and emails from Latite Roofing, from a lady named ***, stating that I received twice $1,813.75, one from my bank and once from them, and this is not true. I have in my account one debit for $2,035.00 and one credit from my bank for $1,813.75 that is all I have regarding this issue. I already contacted my bank and they don't see anything wrong with my account, I have the $2,035.00 going out, then the $1,813.75 coming in, so the difference $221.25 went to Latite Roofing.

Yesterday, I found in my mail a bill from Latite Roofing and Sheet Metal for $1,813.75 for a concept I do not understand. I just emailed *** stating I do not have a double credit of $1,813.75 so please do not send me bills, nor email nor nothing, I do not owe any money to Latite Roofing and Metal, and she replied back: "As previously stated below. Latite processed a refund to your credit card in the amount of $1,813.75 for the over payment. You also processed a charge back with your credit card company for the same amount $1,813.75 which means $1,813.75 was returned to you twice. Because we issued a refund to you in the amount of $1,813.75 and our bank was deducted $1,813.75 (for the charge back) you owe us $1,813.75 back".

Please help me, I did not get twice $1,813.75. In the first place, we had to pay to Latite Roofing and Metal for fixing a roof they instaled less than 3 years ago, so just imagine the quality of their job, and now we have to face this disgusting confussion of money, this is wrong.

Desired Outcome

I need a document from Latite Roofing and Sheet Metal stating either me, nor my husband owe money to them for any concept. We paid to them what was written on the contract for fixing our less than three years old roof, instaled by them. And we never get from them $1,813.75 in addition to the same amount given to us from our bank, as a result of the dispute I did on the wrong amount of $2,035.00 that Latite Roofing and Sheet Metal charged to my credit card.

Latite Roofing & Sheet Metal Response • Mar 28, 2018

Latite Roofing has apologized to the client for the misunderstanding and any inconvenience this may have caused. After initiating an investigation with our banking institution, we were informed the the second credit issued in the amount of $1813.75 did NOT reach the customer, but was held by our bank without our knowledge. Please ensure that this has been corrected and the account has beeen cleared.

Problem with 3 yr old tile roof
On 8/21/2017 I signed a contract with Latite Roofing and Sheet Metal LLC. *** W. *** Rd, Pompano Beach FL XXXXX (XXX) XXX-XXXX to install a tile roof on my house with a 10 yrs warranty from Latite Roofing and Sheet Metal LLC and a 25 yrs warranty from *** Roof Tile for the tiles itself. The lob was completed on 11/3/2014.

In November 2017 I noticed that the roof tiles were looking faded, I checked and the coating was coming off in my hands so I had a company clean the roof hoping it would take care of the problem but after it was dry the coating was still coming off.
I called Latite and left several messages and no one called me back, I finally called back and was able to speak to *** (XXX) XXX XXXX and he said he would check into it and call me back.
Again after not getting any call back I called again and this time was transferred to ***'s Executive Assistant *** (XXX) XXX-XXXX, she also said she would look into it and call me back.
Once again no one called so I called back and spoke to ***, she stated she gave the information to *** Roof and they would contact me.
I was contacted by *** (XXX) XXX XXXX from *** he came to my house and inspected the roof said he would give information to the right people and would call me back.

After contacting him several times for updates he told me that because of Thanksgiving they were a little behind.
I finally spoke to *** a week after Thanksgiving and he told me that they see that there is a problem with the tile but they don't know why, they don't think it is a manufacturing problem so they are not doing anything about it. I told him that the answer didn't make sense.

I called Latite and told *** what he had said and she said she was going to contact *** and find out what was happening.
I didn't hear from her so I called several times and finally spoke to *** on 12/18/17 and told her that if I didn't get a satisfactory answer by Friday 12/22/17 I was going to file a complaint with the Revdex.com and the Federal Trade Commission finally today 12/22/17 I called her again and she transferred me to *** and he stated that he has purchased thousands of dollars worth of tiles from *** and didn't understand why *** gave me that answer that he was going to call *** on Tuesday 12/26/17 and would call me back. I stated the same thing to him about filing the complaints against *** Roof Tile and Latite Roofing if I didn't get any results he stated he didn't know why I was filing against Latite Roofing since I had the manufacturer's warranty from *** Roof Tile.
I told him I paid Latite Roofing to install my roof not ***
Today is Friday 12/28/17 and once again no call back from *** of Latite Roofing, I would like Latite Roofing or *** Roof Tile to stand behind their work and product and do whatever is necessary to repair the problem with my roof.
I am also filing a complaint against the tile manufacturer *** Roof Tile.

Desired Outcome

I would like Latite Roofing or *** Roof Tile to stand behind their work and product and do whatever is necessary to repair the problem with my roof

Latite Roofing & Sheet Metal Response • Jan 22, 2018

The issue with tile color was brought to our attention by the homeowner. We contacted the tile manufacturer and asked them to have their technical representative meet at the home with the homeowner. We have confirmed this occurred and we are being told by manufacturer (who holds the warranty) that the homeowner told them he used a "foam based cleaner" to have his tile roof cleaned. The manufacturer Technical Service Representative has stated that the foam based cleaner damaged the surface of the tile and that the warranty claim being made by homeowner has been rejected. Unfortunately we are not experts in this area and reply on the Manufacturer to service their own warranty claims. As such there is nothing directly we can do especially given the fact that the property owner told the manufacturer directly about the use of this foam cleaning agent. We will send the homeowner a contact name and number for a company that specializes in tint sealing of concrete roof tiles and in fact does a majority of factory rectifications when needed. We will request that he be given our contractor rate so the damage to the surface caused by the improper cleaning can be properly restored. We are sorry the homeowner feels this is our issue but unfortunately each year we see roofs that are damaged by improper use of high pressure washers or other non-approved chemical treatments. Customers should always consult the specific tile manufacturer for proper cleaning guidelines prior to allowing a 3rd party to clean their roof.

Customer Response • Jan 24, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Latite Roofing is claiming that the problem started after I had the roof cleaned, that is not true the reason for the cleaning was because I noticed the color fading, I had the roof cleaned to see if it would take care of the problem but it didn't that is why I called Latite to find out what was happening to my roof. The company that did the cleaning was called *** but that's besides the point they did not cause the problem that is just an excuse they are using and for the record they use a mixture of chlorine and water which is what Entegra advises to use on their maintenance brochure which Latite failed to give me.
I am including a paragraph below from their maintenance brochure and also attaching the Maintenance guide that Latite gave me.
Latite is claiming that I can do some tint sealing, I didn't spend all that money to be tinting my roof after 3 years if that was the case they should have told me before installing this tile,
I feel that they should take car of this problem.

CLEANING, TINT SEALING &
PAINTING
We recommend that a professional roofing contractor or cleaning
company be used to clean, tint seal or paint your roof so that you
avoid the dangers associated with walking on or accessing a roof.
The following method is recommended to properly pressure clean
the surface of your roof to remove dirt, algae or mildew. Different
methods may be required depending on whether your tile is slurry
coated or color-thru. In most applications, a pressure cleaner set at
approximately 1200 psi should be used. The tip of the nozzle on
the pressure cleaner should be kept approximately one to two feet
from the tile. The limited pressure and large distance from the tile is
to prevent damaging the surface of the tile. Most modern pressure
cleaners have an induction system to deliver a 10% solution of
chlorine to water. This will help temporarily remove mildew, algae or
moss when using the recommended reduced pressure.

Latite Roofing & Sheet Metal Response • Feb 26, 2018

We have appealed the warranty rejection decision with Boral Roof Tile (who now owns Entegra) on behalf of the homeowner. It is our understanding they will now be offering the Homeowner some type of rectification option to solve the issue. This item will be worked out between Boral and homeowner directly.

Customer Response • Apr 06, 2018

Entegra Roofing had someone come out yesterday to re-tint and seal my roof, looks great hope it will last.

I hope this is displayed on line and hope someone else can learn from my mistake, if you see a problem with anything you purchase and it's under warranty contact the company first instead of trying to be nice and take care of the problem yourself, my mistake was that I thought by cleaning my roof it would take care of the problem and it didn't so the company tried to claim that I caused the problem. You can close this dispute now.

I contracted them to fix a leak in my roof. Roof was repaired but is now leaking in the exact same spot again. The initial repair didn't fix the cause
In September of 2016 I had a roof leak in my home. After getting several estimates I decided to contract Latite Roofing to fix it. They are the company who initially installed the roof when my home was built and I figured that no one would know my roof better. I got several estimates for the initial repair. The other company wanted to charge me more because they believed a larger needed repair to ensure that the leak was fixed properly but their representative *** Robinson told me they were quoting for excessive work to run up the bill. He assured me that the leak would be fixed and fixed right. The repairs were made and the $1,400 bill was paid. We then spent the better part of the next 18 months trying to get our insurance company to pay for the damage both inside and out. Ultimately, we settled with the insurance company and repaired all of the damage to the interior of the bedroom including new flooring, molding, drywall, etc. We put the incident behind us and moved on with are lives. In mid September of this year , less then 2 years after the work was completed, I noticed that the new portion of the ceiling in the exact same spot as before was bubbling. I immediately called the company who treated me as a new customer calling for the first time. I explained that the leak was in the same place and they ultimately agreed to send out a rep to take a look. They sent the same guy out that I dealt with initially. He observed the bubbling paint and looked at the roof from above. He told me there was no new damage to the roof and it appeared to be leaking from the same place. He would report back to headquarters and they would be in touch. After approximately 2 weeks went by, I called to follow up. I spoke to a manager, *** who essentially told me that they would give me a new estimate to fix the new leak. We went back and forth for a bit before he rudely ended the conversation by hanging up on me. I then got his superior on the phone , *** he told me he would look into it. He emailed me back and essentially stood behind his reps initial assessment and subsequent repair calling it extremely thorough. I have had 4 roofers out to access the damage who have all told me that the initial repair did not fix the actual cause of the leak and only fixed the damaged area below it. The repaired roof is deteriorating as a result and it looks like the repairs Latite made will all need to be redone after the actual leak is properly fixed. Each time it rains the damage gets worse and the water is now pouring in and the new interior of our bedroom is also starting to get ruined. It is obvious that the initial leak was never truly fixed. The roof has continued to leak for the last 2 years as evidenced from the damage , unfortunately it was not obvious from inside the home until after the 1 year warranty had ended. Latite has dismissed me repeatedly. They have suggested I hire a new company and leave them alone. It is sad that a large company like this would treat someone in this way. I am now scrambling to find a new company to fix the same problem that I thought was fixed 2 years ago and scrambling to find the money to pay for the repairs as there is no way the insurance company will reimburse me for a second time for the same claim. I swallowed my pride and pleaded with the company to come out and stand behind there work with no success.

Desired Outcome

Ultimately, I would have liked them to just come back and finish the repair right but I don't believe they will do anything as they have washed their hands of me. At this point I would prefer a refund then have to deal with this company further. If nothing more , I write this letter to put this situation on the record in hopes that others will see it and use a company that is more customer friendly and will actually stand behind there work. I am sure I am not the only one to be wronged by Latite Roofing but hopefully will be the last.

Latite Roofing & Sheet Metal Response

Latite Account Manager *** assessed the roof in or about September of 2015 and proposed a repair. That repair was completed on and the customer experienced no leaks for 2 years. The leak, determined to be at the return is located at the base of a valley. There could be issues in the valley, independent of the repair that was made in 2015, now contributing to the new leak. This was explained to Mr. as well and he offered to pay for any additional repairs. However, based on feedback from *** and *** regarding Mr. demeanor and abrasive attitude, we will not continue to do business with him and advised that he hire one of the other contractors that had looked at the issue (all stating that the leak was not where we repaired).

There are a couple of factual discrepancies to clarify:
Original repair was made September 21st, 2015, not September of 2016. This repair carried a 1 year workmanship guarantee.
His summary of our repair and what the "4 roofers" told him is fabricated and is a mingling of various discussions conducted, including one with our VP. His statements to the VP of what those, at the time 3 other roofers, stated differs greatly from what he has written here. He wasn't even aware that there was a damaged area repaired until the VP sent him photos of it following their discussion.
He's had "4 roofers" assess the roof, why is he scrambling to find one to perform repairs now?

In summary, the area repaired in 2015 by Latite was indeed a problem area and the repair was performed accurately and thoroughly based on the proposal signed with Mr.. Any other area of the roof failing and contributing to the water entry to his home, is not related to the repair Latite proposed and was contracted for. Therefore, we feel we have no obligation to perform any remedial work for free, nor provide any "refunds" for work performed under the signed agreement. As stated earlier, Latite chooses not to enter into contract for additional repairs due to Mr. abrasive demeanor.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The response from Latite Roofing is more of the same run around that they gave me which prompted this complaint. My summary of their repair was not fabricated and of coarse I was aware of the repairs that were done to my roof. Since writing my complaint I have gotten several more professional opinions. All concur that the repair made by Latite was sloppy. Yesterday I had the same exact area of the roof repaired that Latite worked roughly 2 years ago. The roofing company I hired had to rip up the previous repair and start all over. It turns out, that in addition to being an overall sloppy job, that specifically the flashing where the valley meets the return was not long enough and water has been getting through the gap. All of the plywood that Latite replaced had to be replaced again as it was clearly rotted, along with new felt and rubber paper, flashing , membrane ect. In addition the trusses now needed repair. There was no new damage to the roof. The leak today is the same exact leak that existed 2 years ago and it simply was not fixed properly when Latite did the job. It is apparent from the condition of the plywood, fascia board and other materials that the leak never stopped and has continued to leak for the past 2 years. The repairs did achieve some temporary relief but they started to deteriorate quickly and ultimately became visible from the interior of the home. I never thought to check the attic or revisit the roof as I had trusted that Latite had thoroughly repaired the roof. Latite was dismissive of me from the moment I called them to report the problem. I was nothing but nice to *** when he came to my home. I was also nice to *** up though the point where he told me that he would be happy to give me a quote to fix the roof, at my expense of coarse and could not even tell me what his employees assessment of the leak was coming from some 2 weeks after he sent *** out to assess the situation. It is obvious Latite is going to stand by their story and try to poke holes in mine. They are a huge company and I am just a small fish with a small job. Admitting that their repair was less then 100% thorough would result in them having any responsibility in fixing it or refunding me my money. It is they who should be ashamed of their behavior with regards to this matter not me. I have enclosed a copy of the estimate I got from the roofing company who yesterday did the repair along with a copy of the invoice describing the work that was actually done. I have also enclosed pictures of the work area that Latite sent me along with the pictures taken yesterday when the area was repaired all over again. In closing, Latite does not dispute that the area where the leak was until yesterday is in the exact spot as previously observed some 2 years ago. Even though they sent a representative out to observe the leak recently they still offer no explanation or evidence as to why or where the water is coming from. They only offer a guess that it may be originating elsewhere but is some how coming through in the same spot, which is far fetched and ultimately untrue as evidenced by no apparent new damage to the roof in the area of the original repair or the valley above after careful examination. I hope other homeowners think twice before hiring this company and I hope you make an example of them for mistreating the public in this manner.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not accept this response from Latite. As I stated in detail the repair they did fixed the damage that resulted from a leak but did not properly repair the point of entry that the water was coming through and that ultimately caused the obvious damage that was repaired. It is similar to fixing a roof on a home that had a fire. If you fix the roof which is obviously burnt but don't fully extinguish the fire first then ultimately the fire will grow and burn down the roof again. The structural repairs to my roof masked the fact that water was still seeping through at the exact same point of entry as before. It took time for the water to deteriorate the new paper. plywood, drywall and paint. Looking at the house from the outside it is apparent that the warped and deteriorated wood that Latite replaced could not have gotten that way as a result of a new leak that occurred more recently. I wish I had checked the exterior (or attic sooner but the repaired area is on the side of the house which we are rarely on and I hadno reason to belive that the repair job was anything less then thorough. Furthermore Latite nor any other roofing company for that matter has shown me that there was any new damage to the roof. If there was new damage to the roof when Latite came back out to observe that the roof was indeed leaking again then why did their representative *** tell me that there was no new damage to the roof and that it was obviously leaking in from same place. I am sure if there was new damage he would have noted it and taken picture too! As I also stated, I have since had the roof fixed properly where it was confirmed that the original leak was not fixed thoroughly, that there was a gap that water was getting through because the flashing that Latite used was too short. End of story. I assume most repairs Latite does are thorough and I know that they did not purposely leave a gap but it happened and instead of sending a guy out to correct the error, which would have cost them little time or money, they instead decided to stand behind the warranty of one year which had expired less then 1 year prior to my noticing the water coming in again. I paid $1,250 and expect to be reimbursed ASAP to help cover the cost of the new repair. If not I will be reporting this the Attorney General at the Florida Department of Legal Affairs and will not relent until I have gotten a satisfactory result. I have a wife and children, a job and many responsibilities. This is the last thing I need to be spending time or money on but I will continue to pursue as I refuse to bullied by this 75 year old company and intend to let the public know exactly what kind of company this really is before they have the same misfortunate experience that I have endured.

Latite Roofing & Sheet Metal Response • Jan 22, 2018

Latite respectfully honored the 1 year warranty as outlined in our agreement and we stand by our workmanship in all aspects of roofing.

We have a Roof Maintenance Program with Latite Roofing. The agreement was paid in advance and the coverage period is 05/1/XXXX - X/30/2018.
On Sept 27 they sent a roof technician to inspect the roof. The technician mentioned before he left that there are some repairs that need to be done. Latite was supposed to send a report within a couple of days.
We sent a follow up email on September 29th to learn about the repairs that need to be done. On Oct 2nd we sent another email to *** to ***@latite.com to follow up on the report. October 09, we sent another email. October 10, sent another email, October 12, left a voicemail. October 18 sent another email. November 02, left a voicemail. And until today we have not received any reply back from Latite Roofing.

Desired Outcome

Delivery We need to receive the report ASAP so we could work on the roof repairs.

We accept Latite's response because we received the roof report after we file a complaint through Revdex.com. We needed the report to take care of the roof repairs and keep our building in good conditions.

I am the vise president of a condo association in SWFL and this year we decided to do extensive repairs to our building i.e. Roof, concrete repairs, new roof everything was scheduled months before and coordinated so that the work was completed before the snow birds return. Every trade kept there schedule except for Latite roofing. So far it has been 6 weeks and they are still not finished stripping the roof and making water tight. There workers would strip the roof and leave it exposed to the elements. Every upstairs condo has had water leaks!! In acceptable. The parking lot is a mess leaving nails garbage and material everywhere. Several owners have had flats and our lawn maintenance crew refuse to return because of all the nails. The workers come and go as they please with no one showing up for days. No supervisor on site a Total DISASTER. Be advised DO NOT contract these roofers. Furthermore we are in a complexe of 14 buildings that all the roofs need replacing. They couldn't care less that they lost all these jobs. Unbelievable!!!
