[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved] Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Nowhere in the contract does it say they only do white fillings and that is where the discrepancy is Had they been honest about the services they offered and what services were being done in relation to what my insurance company offered, we would not be having the disagreement we have now Understanding the financial responsibility is not an issue when the doctor’s office is not lying about the services being offered versus the services that are covered, and that is where the issue is, they lied about both The problem is with the doctor’s office not saying there was a difference in the cost between the white filings and the silver fillings and that they didn’t even do silver fillings, which is something I did not find out until I questioned the bill when I received it months later They were told about the difference and the “downgraded” coverage when they called the insurance company however left that information out when going over the coverage with myself Even in the response to this complaint they said “In addition, insurance companies are not required to notify us of upgrades or downgrades within a patient’s policy ” however they WERE told about the downgrade because they included that in the insurance coverage breakdown (which I have included) They just failed to relay that information to me while explaining the insurance coverage Patients expect honesty from their doctors especially when going over their treatment and the billing associated with that treatmentBy leaving information out while going over treatment and billing, they are completely taking advantage of their patients and hiding behind/relying on the signed paper saying a patient is responsible for all leftover amounts not paid by the insurance, to cover their lies They knew before starting the treatment and submitting to the insurance company that I would have another large bill The recording between the office manager and the insurance company, which I have verified with the insurance company, {where they were told that there was a difference in cost/coverage depending on the type of composite used, silver or white} and the treatment case plan (where it shows they were to charge me $out of the $per tooth) proves that Patients generally are not doctors or insurance providers themselves and rely on their doctor’s honesty when trying to determine if they can afford to take care of necessary treatments There was never any effort on the part of the doctor’s office to try and resolve these issues other than being told I must pay it, even after fault with incorrect billing was admitted by the (new) office manager in August (the office manager that took care of this insurance breakdown and treatment case plan was fired right after this issued occurred, according to the new office manager) The only person that threatened to call the police on me was the doctor’s husband I had an appointment to speak with the office manager in June When I arrived I was confronted by DrLaura’s husband He told me that I would not be speaking with the doctor or the office manager and the only person I would be able to speak with was him I told him I wanted the exact name of the office manager, he refused to give it to me I told him I would sit in the office and wait until the doctor or office manager came out to speak with me and at that point he began yelling for me to leave the office and he would call the police if I did not leave, even though I had scheduled an appointment earlier in the day to speak with someone else It was completely inappropriate for DrLaura to send her husband to speak with me and he did not identify himself in any other manner other than “her husband” I am also a little disturbed by the lack of professionalism by the office in submitting their evidence (to the Revdex.com) and giving an inadequate attempt to cover my social security number in their photo copied evidence They have an obligation to keep my private information safe and private and I don’t believe they have done this It is completely clear in their copy (and I have no Idea how safe these communications are and whether or not they are encrypted) so I hope that does not put my sensitive information at risk Regards, [redacted]
