Audi Westmont responded to this complaint via email to *** ***, MBA, Accredited Business Services Representative on August 22nd The response is as follows: *** Thank you for returning my call, below is the response to the complaint Being a second owner of a
recent purchase neither party assumed condition of vehicle, we found engine oil level down quart and diagnosed “Engine Oil Minimum light” which cost *** ***’s $on 5/19/58,427miles that she agreed to payAfter determining that vehicle needed to start an oil consumption test Ms*** declinedOn 5/27/ she returned with 58, with the same concern now asking to start oil consumption test which she agreed and paid $plus tax replacing the oil and filter and set up monitor system for later measurement Ms*** brought the vehicle in for the second Oil consumption test On 7/17/miles 59,Part two oil consumption test was performed, oil level started at 76.61MM and ended at 34.93MM Results were Qt/1000miContacted Audi of America (TAC) was advised to perform Piston replacement at no charge to client along with no charge of the second oil consumption test During the replacement of the Pistons, Ms*** was notified of Timing Chain and Tensioner were found to be stretched out, cost of the replacement while engine was apart was $plus tax versus $2,with engine completelyCustomer agreed So in summary the customer paid only $plus the initial $in total for the oil consumption repairThe complete second half of the repair was paid in full by Audi (estimate of $500) As you can see, Ms*** agreed to have her timing chain and tensioner replaced for $plus tax All work was agreed to and performed only with Ms***’s permissionAnd again, Audi of America paid the more expensive second half, which is procedure for these repairs, as the car is completely out of warranty, this is considered “special policy” or “goodwill” Audi Westmont acted in good faith, only performing work authorized and only charging for the customers portion of that work

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 14, 2015/07/31) */
As the general manager, I always welcome a customer to call me directly. I have documentation of all products offered to the customer. The term care is the product that is cancellable and covers brakes. That product was declined and rightfully...

so since he trades a lot. He did purchse audi care which covers scheduled maintenance and stays with the car when traded in. It adds value for the next owner and brings a higher trade value.
It isn't cancellable by Audi and I can not support a cancellation. It isn;t that I don't want to, it simply isn't an option.
Again, for clarity, all products offered and selected were presented in writing and initaled and signed off by the customer.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 16, 2015/08/03) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Revdex.com Case XXXXXXXX - My response is I originally declined the offer for Audi Care. I was told the Audi Care would be refundable if not used, or the car was traded in. That being said, this is the only reason I accepted the deal. That is why I asked to speak to the financial officer who proposed the offer and I was told he no longer works there. I have never bought any different plans for any vehicles I have owned. I was definitely told that plan was refundable. That is why I purchased the plan. I wonder if they record these signings? I sure hope so, it would settle my case.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 18, 2015/08/04) */
I have avaialbe to the customer all documents that were signed as well as the products offered that were offered and declined. If the customer would like these emailed to him, I would be happy to do so as it will answer to his questions. Making mention we deceive anyone is not acceptable either.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 20, 2015/08/07) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I also have all documents that were signed at the time of the purchase. My only complaint is that I was told that this plan was refundable if I no longer owned the vehicle. That is the main reason I asked to speak to the financial officer, to ask him directly why he told me the plan in question was refundable. At 72 years old I am not trying to deceive anyone regarding this incident. I am only responding to the situation because that is what I was told.

Mrs. [redacted] is correct we did diagnose the car and recommended services above and beyond the evap purge valve. she agreed to have the work performed as she stated. we repaired the car as per everything authorized by Mrs. [redacted]. at the time of repair and time of customer pick up there were no...

serious leaks. just normal wear for the age of the vehicle. the customer stated they had bought the car from a family member and were assured there were no issues. that. again, was not the case and we repaired all authorized concerns. Approximately 5  months later Mr. [redacted] called in and expressed that he did not authorize the work to be performed, that Mrs. [redacted] did on her own. and there are now new concerns. at that time we offered to bring the car to the dealership to show him the work performed. he agreed but stated he wanted multiple issues fixed at no cost to him if we picked the car up. we explained that we performed all work authorized and if there additional new issues, Audi Westmont would not be responsible. Audi Westmont offered to show him, at the dealership, the work performed. He refused unless we completed work that was not authorized. There has been no contact since other than this complaint. we have all records on site of all work performed if necessary to review. Audi Westmont considers this matter to be closed and that in all aspects we performed the work authorized and are not responsible for new issues.
