Review: I was at the dealership on 12-5-2014 looking to purchase a truck. I filled out a credit application then my wife and I went to grab a bite to eat after pulling out of the dealership I called the salesman and told him that I decided that I wasn't interested and didn't want my credit ran. The salesman said that they had already ran it but it was only sent to two banks.... I have now received my ninth statement of credit denial and my credit score has dropped nearly 100 points. After I had already told him I did not want my credit ran. I want this situation resolved and my credit score returned to its original status.Desired Settlement: I want my credit score returned to its original status before I went to the dealership that day.

Response:

As the customer stated, he came to the dealership and submitted a credit application granting us permission to submit the application for finance. I'm not sure where the customer got the information that it was only submitted to two banks.

Consumer

Response:

The sales person whenever we spoke on the phone and I told him I did not want my credit ran said " the most banks we would submit it to would be two, we do not shotgun peoples credit here" now clearly that was a lie because I am still receiving letters of denial and it is now January 12th over a month later.

Review: Laurel ford charged my credit card a $250 deposit for a truck that I did not purchase. They said this would be refunded but it was not. The salesman (H[redacted]) also removed the manuals from my truck (that I did not trade) and never returned them. I have returned to the dealer a couple of times with no resolution.Desired Settlement: Refund my money and return my manuals and be a better business.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Regards,

[redacted],After laurel ford called me after Revdex.com notified them, I went in for the refund of my $250 deposit like I tried to get months ago. They still didn't make it easy but I got the $250. Wasted another hour of my time. Like I told them, I didn't get a new truck but they also made me regret that I already drive a new Ford Explorer and I will never return to laurel ford. [redacted]

Review: Purchased a 2002 Thunderbird 7/2012, prior to purchasing, asked the financial representative if the car was ever wrecked, he responded "no" and that they did run a carfax (I did not ask to see a copy of the carfax, assuming the representative was telling me the truth). I traded the Tbird in 9/2012 and discovered the Tbird WAS WRECKED in 2006, and it WAS NOTED on the carfax. I feel the dealership has very deceptive operating procedures. Obviously their word cannot be trusted. Since the Tbird had been wrecked, I received $1,500 less in the trade-in value.I called the owner of the dealership three times, he was not in, I left messages for him to return my calls, which he NEVER DID.I did speak to the general manager who said nothing could be done.I would never recommend Laurel Auto Group to anyone who was considering purchasing an automobile, they truly cannot be trusted.Desired Settlement: Compensated for my $1,500 financial loss.

Dear

I am writing to you in response to the above complaint. The Complainant correctly states that he purchased a vehicle from Laurel Ford on 7/7/2012, with a clear title that was free of any Brands. Laurel Ford is a Car Fax Advantage Dealer, that ensures all of the vehicles in our inventory are able to have a Car Fax run at no charge to the customer. It also allows our use of Car Fax logos in our advertising and our online listings. When a customer clicks the Car Fax link they can see the complete vehicle history report. While we understand the concern of the customer, we have spoken to the parties who were involved in the transaction. They deny telling the customer that the car was in or not in an accident. If the customer had asked that question they would have referred the customer to the Car Fax. Laurel Ford did not engage in any wrongdoing, and followed sales practices as approved under its license by the Commonwealth of PA. If you have any questions, I can be reached at [redacted]

Sincerely,

General Slaes Manager

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID[redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]

My response to Laurel Ford Lincoln is, their financial manager DID tell us that the car was NOT in an accident, he denys making the statement, so basically it is his word against the word of my wife and me. In our excitement to purchase the car we should have asked for documentation from the carfax so we would have had proof in our hand, we did not have access to a computer at the time, the dealership is 100 miles away from our home. The financial manager DID tell us the Tbird was not wrecked, he DID NOT offer to run the carfax for us to see the documentation. The dealership DID engage in wrongdoing and we feel their practices are deceptive. ALL FOR THE LOVE OF MONEY!!! Maybe the sales practices approved by the Commonwealth of PA should be revised, but then this is a car dealership and deception is the norm. The customer should enter any agreement with Laurel Ford Lincoln knowing the dealership will be as deceptive as they possibly can be to make a sale.

Last comment, I can put my head on my pillow at night knowing I did nothing wrong, the financial manager, general sales manager (and they cannot even spell it correctly in their response!) and the owner at Laurel Ford Lincoln CANNOT put their head on their pillows at night without feeling GUILTY.

Regards,

Review: This business refused to honor a recall that exists for my 2000 Toyota Tundra.(National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Recall#09V444),siting an unrelated issue,ie.the main frame in the front of the vehicle is deteriorated ( repairable),so they will not replaced rear cross member. The thing about this is until 2012,Toyota was replacing the entire frame of these vehicles and now they won't even perform this current recall of replacing the rear cross member of the frame that holds the spare tire.Desired Settlement: I just want the rear cross member replaced like the recall states.

Business

Response:

We contacted Toyota and Toyota will replace the rear crossmember and apply the corrosion resistance kit per the BXD recall.Due to the unsafe condition of other components of the frame that are not covered by this recall, the customer will have to sign a waiver.

I recently bought a brand new 2016 Jeep Patriot Altitude. Before this vehicle reached 1200 miles the electrical system failed. It was catastrophic. There were initial indicators but their service department stated over the phone "don't worry about it". 5 days later I was involved with a tri axle dump truck accident that may have been caused by this vehicles turn signal system failing. The truck nearly rear ended this jeep and sheared a phone pole in half. I also believe the brake lights failed but I couldn't see it from the drivers seat. Laurel Jeep refuses to replace the vehicle. They insist on my returning for fixes. I have video of the problems occurring and images of the crash. Fortunately my little boy and I were not injured.
