Ms. [redacted] picked up here Trailer Blazer on TuesdayNovember 17, 2015.. After leaving here she called backsaying her radio didn't work. We asked her to bring it backin and we would take a look at it. She called back twosdays later again and said her car was losing power. Wetold her to bring it back...

and we would take a look at it butit didn't sound like a transmission issue. But she stillshould bring it in for us to look at it. She then said shewould bring it in next week on black Friday. She thencalled and said her car was skipping and jumping. Shewas informed to bring it back again for us to look at it.She said her car would not make it. I told her to get or bringit back to the shop so we can get it looked at. Which shestill neglected to do. Then she called in the next day andtold us the transmission was taking longer to change intosecond gear than it was suppose to. I told her that could bea transmission issue or the car not running right could bethe cause for the long shift problem. She needed to bringit back to the shop. in order for us to do warranty if it needto be done. Then she called and inform the next day thecar had caught on fire. She ask for her money back for thetransmission I tried to explain to her how the warrantywork. She also called her insurance company and turned inthe claim. As of this time no one has found any neglect orand anything done wrong on our behalf with the installingof the transmission. If she felt like the car wouldn't make itback to our shop she should have carried it to another shopwhere she was at or had the vehicle towed back to us.Thank You[redacted]

Review: On November 7, 2015, I gave Laurel Park possession of my 05 Chevy trailblazer for them to replace/rebuild my transmission. As the Bailee of my vehicle I expected them the fix the vehicle and return it in the condition it was in prior to transmission failure. On this day November 7, 2015, [redacted], an agent of laurel park agreed to fix the transmission for $1300. Throughout the week of November 9th I periodically checked on the status of repair and was told that the vehicle would be be ready by Friday. On Thursday, November 13, 2015, I received a call from a female agent of Laurel Park and she stated that the transmission had not arrived and it would be Monday before the vehicle would be finished. On November 15, 2015, around 8:30pm, [redacted] called me to inform me that the vehicle had been fixed and ready for pick up on Monday. On Monday, November 16, 2015, the vehicle's repairs were paid for and pick up by [redacted] and [redacted]. They drove the vehicle to [redacted] where I took possession of the vehicle and drove it to [redacted] I noticed during the drive that the vehicle was not changing into 2nd gear properly and once I arrive to [redacted] I called [redacted] and made him aware, along with making him aware the radio was not working. [redacted] said the shifting problem may be the computer adjusting to the transmission and to give it a day. He also stated that call him the next day if the problem persisted. The next day the problem persisted and I called my father and [redacted] to let them know of the issue. [redacted] preceded to tell me to bring the vehicle to Virginia and I expressed to him that I did not think the vehicle could make it to Virginia. He made no efforts to arrange to come get the vehicle but just said to bring it back. On the night of Wednesday's November 11, 2015, the vehicle began to lose power in traffic and I safely got the vehicle home. I called [redacted] the next morning and informed him that the vehicle was losing power and he went on to tell me this had nothing to do I do with the transmission and to bring the vehicle back and again I informed him that I did not believe the vehicle would make it to Virginia. Again he made no efforts to retrieve the vehicle out of safety for me. I informed him I would try and o get the vehicle to him the following Friday and he said that I was working on a warranty and should bring it back. I let the vehicle rest over the weekend in hopes that it would be fine on Monday morning. In my limited travels on the weekend I smelled something but was unsure as to what it was. So I waited until Monday morning to warm the truck and proceeded to the highway when people behind me began to flash lights and blow at me because they could see a fire from the back of the vehicle. Once I pulled over and grabbed my near belongings the vehicle burst into flames and began to leak fluids.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund on the transmission and the blue book value on my vehicle with a new transmission and a 2 year old engine which based on the kelly blue book website the vehicles worth is about $6,681. I would also like loss of wages. If laurel park do not meet these requirements I will file a civil negligence claim along with the above listed claims and damages of pain and suffering and mental anguish from the life threatening situation.

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Any mechanic who knows what they are doing would know that a lost of power would be indication of a leak or a slipping transmission. Also a reputable auto shop would come get the vehicle if the customer tells them that the vehicle would be unable to make it to their shop after they have done a [redacted] poor job. But I guess this is what happens when you work with a negligent shop.
