Lavallee Overhead Door, Inc. Reviews (2)

Review: I responded to an email advertisement which stated that Lavallee Overhead Door Company would do a preventative Maintenance of my garage door for a flat fee of $65.00. A spoke with a gentleman ([redacted]) at the company who explained that the fee was $65.00 dollars and included an inspection, lubrication and any minor adjustments. The gentleman additionally explained that if the technician found anything wrong above and beyond that that an additional fee would be charged for parts and labor. I set up an appointment and the technician came to my home on 12/23/2013 and lubricated the garage door tracks and adjusted the main spring. The Technician then inspected the garage door opener drive motor and informed me that the nylon gears were wearing out and would need to be replaced in the future. I instructed the technician to order the parts and replace the gear drive when they arrived. I gave the technician my AX charge card and he wrote up sales order #[redacted] and departed. When I saw that the technician had charged me $109.95 instead of the agreed upon price of $65.00 I called the Lavallee Office and was told that the $65.00 price was for a single garage door and that I had a double door garage. I told Lavallee that I was never informed of this rule and that I felt to be the victim of a bait and switch. Lavallee informed me that I would have to pay the full amount at which point I cancelled the part ordered and told them that I did not want them working on my garage door as I consider them to be an honest Company.Desired Settlement: I wish a refund of $44.95 which is the amount that I believe I was overcharged as a result of this bait and switch.

Response:

We are sorry to hear Mr. [redacted] is not happy with our company. Our salesperson ([redacted]) confirmed to me that he discussed this with Mr. [redacted] and that it was understood the door we were performing the PM on was a single car door. Pm on a double car door is $109.95. I am sure there must have been a miscommunication, but in any case, we will refund Mr. [redacted] the $44.95 on his AX card today to resolve the problem. Very sorry if the miscommunication was on our side.

Review: We called on March 18th to have our garage doors serviced. I was told they would come to our house Thursday, the 19th, between 1:00pm and 4:00pm, and I repeated the information back to confirm. After waiting home all afternoon, they never showed. I called Friday morning, the 20th, and spoke with the service manager. He claims we were scheduled for Friday the 20th between 1:00pm and 4:00pm. We agreed to have them come out. Again, they never showed. I attempted 3 phone calls to the office - 2 to the service manager and 1 to the owner. All calls were put through but left on hold. Our doors were installed less than a year ago and are not closing properly. Where is the service???Desired Settlement: Properly functioning garage doors.

Response:

We installed [redacted] door on 10/2/14 and returned at the request of [redacted] on 10/10/14 to adjust the door. Apparently the door worked well from 10/10/14 until he called on 3/19/15. I talked with Mark, our Service Coordinator, about this request for service and he could not recall the reason for the no-show, but scheduled a part of Friday, 3/20/15 to handle the service. Unfortunately, it snowed that morning and our servicemen were told to report for work later in the day to avoid possible vehicle accidents. We had difficulty re-scheduling work that had to be completed that day and Peter's request must have fell between the cracks. I apologize for this.[redacted] called [redacted] yesterday, but was unsuccessful in reaching Peter. I called [redacted] this morning and left a message for him to call me. As soon as I receive a return call, I will take care of this. [redacted]
