THIS COMPANY STANDS BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT 100%. I have been purchasing Korky Brand Universal 3" Valve Seals from this company, sold through Home Depot, for the past five years. They have a five-year warranty. Unfortunately, I was having to replace the seals more frequently -- about every 18 months. I contacted Lavelle Industries by mail and shared my concerns regarding this product. They immediately shipped me a supply of seals -- no hassles, no questions asked. Review: DEC 4 13 This is a formal Complaint against Lavelle Industries involving its Korky QuietFill Valve, Model 528. I purchased two (2) units of the Korky QuietFill Valve from the local home improvement store. In both cases, there was an obvious problem in the valves ability to reliable stop water overflow at the water limit line. Ultimately, I had to spend several hours to perform the prep work and swap this product out for another brand fill valve that uses a floating cylinder design. On two occassions of using this Korky product, in both cases it proved to be unreliable and had to be replaced. In retail pricing the fill valve the cost per unit is $8.87 per each Model 528. I do not wish to use this model for any future plumbing repairs and installations. There are two options for remedy of the faulty product issues:

(1.) Refund of full cash value for 2 units and 9% sales tax, or (2.) Replacement with 2 units of fill valves for residential application that uses the floating cylinder design or architecture. I would be pleased to accept Option 2 if Lavelle has this type of product.Desired Settlement: This complaint can be resolved by providing Specific Performance on one of two options above. A replacement of 2 fill valve units or kits for residential toilets, that is designed with floating cylinder design, would resolve the problem for the Model 528 shutoff failures. Commercial delivery address is the post office box. Comparable products that use the floating cylinder design are the Peerless PRL001X, Toilet Fill Valve with Flapper; or Fluidmaster Performax High Performance Fill Valve, Model 4004RHR, retail price $11.97. Both replacements utilize the reliable float cylinder design. Digital photos are available on request. No gift cards or store credits.

On our packaging and in our installation instructions, we include a toll-free number for consumers to contact us to answer any installation questions they may have. We wish we had had that opportunity to help Mr. [redacted] because we believe we could have helped at that time.

Nonetheless, Lavelle Industries always stands by its five year warranty on our Korky fill valves, so we will send Mr. [redacted] a refund direct from Lavelle Industries. Also, since people rarely experience problems with our fill valves, we will be sending a postage-paid return envelope as well so Mr. [redacted] can return the fill valves to us for analysis.

We believe this provides a complete resolution to the complaint.

RE: Lavelle Industries & Korky Fill Valve

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Lavelle Industries can send a full refund of retail value and California sales tax by check to the post office box address.

Or, I, Mr. [redacted], can also accept an adjustable fill valve that uses the floating cyclinder architecture, which is common from competing manufacturers, and from direct experience has not experienced shut off deficiencies concerning the flow of water. To be clear, this was not an installation problem, but a mechanical problem where the float mechanism does not cut the flow of water.

Korky/Lavelle will receive their unit in a provided postage paid parcel. I will return the fill valve for study. I am also interested to know from Lavelle the findings of their investigation.

For the record, I read the entire Installation Instructions. I also have installed Lavelle products and other manufacturer products. This particular product has failed on 2 separate units due to the the failed float shut off.

Nonetheless, I appreciate that Lavelle stands behind its product warranty. It is a responsible company. I appreciate any other feedback and consideration for return of private Property. Delivery can be made to post office box address. Telephone number is provided for phone contact.
