Review: THE COMPANY WAS SUPPOSE TO FILL OUT AND FILE DIVORCE PAPERS FOR A FEE. I PAID THE TOTAL FEE OF $695.00 IN ADVANCE AND SENT IN REQUESTED PAPERWORK TO THE COMPANY. THEY FILED FOR AN INDEX# AND THAT IS IT. I CONTACTED THE NEW YORK SUPREME COURT TO FIND OUT WHAT THE STATUS OF MY DIVORCE WAS AND THEY SAID THE PAPER WORK WAS NEVER COMPLETED. I HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT THE COMPANY ON MORE THAN ONE OCCATION WITH NO LUCK.Desired Settlement: I WOULD LIKE MY DIVORCE FILED AND SETTLED.

Sincerely,

Review: On January [redacted], 2013, I went to law guides to for a divorce. I paid a total of $635, in full for their services. They provided me with an index number and assured me that the paper work was submitted to the court and are currently being processed; my divorce was supposed to be competed by June [redacted]. Although difficult (because their phone was always busy), I was consistent with keeping in touch with Law Guides to assure my paper work was being processed. I never received any paper work in the mail as promised, on June [redacted] I called Law Guides. To my surprise I heard a recording stating that the company is transitioning ownership and all cases will be transferred and handled by the new owner, and their website will be up and running by June [redacted]. Not only did the company not notify about this "transition", the website still cease to exist. Since then, I have called Law Guides phone number and got the same recording and the website is still not "up and running". I tried to call again today, now there is some weird AT&T recording and no indication of Law Guides or new owner. I really do not know what to do next. This company is very unprofessional and inconsiderate.Desired Settlement: I would just like to get what was promised to me, my divorce, so I can finally move on to the next phase in my life. I want Law Guides to contact me and let me know what is going on. I paid my fee and want what I paid for. If they are not going to complete my services, then I expect a full refund. It is unfair what they did.

Review: I hired them to handle my divorce papers on 9/**/12. on 1/**/13 I gave them the last payment at which at that point they were suppose to file my papers, they gave me an esstimate due date :4/**/13. on Tuesday 6/*/13 I called to check what is the status of my case been told to call in 15 minutes, when I called the line was busy, all afternoon. on 6/* I got a letter in the mail that saying that I am missing a signature and therefor my papers was never filed. I want to the office on Monday 6/**/13 to ask how come nobody tried to contact me, for 5 month and inform me that I need to come and sign the paper? the lady didn't have an answer, all she said that is that I should just sign it. at this point I asked for an appointment with the lawyer, she told me that I can make an appointment only over the phone (she refuse to make the appointment while I was there) and told she doesn't know when he will be in. I called (took me a few good hours to get to them), when I told her that I want to make an appointment what it is about she said she can't make the appointment and hung up the phone on me.Desired Settlement: I want my money back and my papers (my ex live in Greece and he had to sign the paper at the consulate) so I can go and file for the divorce somewhere else. I don't want them to handle my case anymore

Review: I paid the company 700 dollars to provide me with complete divorce services, including filings, and it has been 14 months, after dozens of phone calls and emails, and just being told the courts are backed up, I was told that they could not perform the duties because of some glitch and that I would have to do it myself. This is unacceptable!Desired Settlement: I want my money back if they can't complete the duties they promised

Sincerely,

Review: I paid Law Guides to process and file divorce papers. I spoke to [redacted] on 4/**/13 and she said she received my paperwork and the case would submitted to the court on 4/**/13 and the divorce should be final around the beginning of August. She said the courts were backed up and divorces were takng longer. I went on vacation in July and contacted them upon my return to follow up. There was no answer and I havent been able to reach them since. If you check their website, www.lawguidescorp.com, they are now called Virtual Express Divorce run by [redacted] and they have a new address and phone number. I have been unable to reach anyone at that number either. Upon further investigation, I found out that they have gone out of business and there are many other people in the same situation that I'm in. I have since filed a dispute with my bank for the amount I paid them and a complaint with the Department of Consumer Affairs.Desired Settlement: I paid them $ 653.72 and I want to be refunded.

Review: In December, 2012, my husband and I went to the office of Law Guides Corp. at [redacted]. We meant with their representative who explained to us the process of abtaining an incontested divorce. We both agreed due to irreconcilable differences that we wanted to file and move forward with the preceedings. During this meeting we signed several documents. Paid the initial fee of $300, and an additional check for $135.00 was given to them. By Jan. 2013, the balance of $200 was paid by debt card over the phone. The total fee of $635.00 was paid by us in full. We were informed that this should be an easy and fast process, since no children, property and/or equity was involved. We were told a postcard will be mailed with updates. To this date we still have not received a postcard. I called the office and they Secretary (woman who answered the phone) stated the law clerks were at the courts and we should call on Friday afternoons. I did that for several weeks and received nothing but busy signals until 4pm when the phone would just ring. last month when I called again, a message was left on the answering machine that the business and all current proceedings were being handled only by email by a "[redacted]" - [redacted]. I have sent several emails to this "new" owner and have not received a response. Not even an acknowledgement that he received my correspondence. At this point, my Husband and I are unaware of our status. we are both christians residing in the same household; however we need a resolution and or status on what our next step should be. We do not know if the papers were filed as we were told, or if we should seek the services of a "real Attorney". Thank you for anything you can do and or advise.Desired Settlement: We would like to know the current status of our preceedings. If nothing has been done yet, then we would like a check for the full amount paid ($635.00, I will not include the cost of time wasted numerous phone calls and the mental anguish this has caused). We can also use this money as a retainer for a new lawyer. We would also like the Revdex.com to get involved so other couples do not go what we are going through. Both businesses should be shut down and not authorized to operate in NYC.

Review: On January **, 2013, I hired this company for the preparation service of my uncontested divorce documents which included the purchasing of my index #, preparation of documents and delivery of finalized documents to the NY State Supreme Court to obtain my "Notice of Issue". I paid them for the entire service in the total amount of $653.72 (1st payment $525.03 on 2/**/13 and 2nd payment of $125.00 on 04[redacted]/13). As of date, they have only filed and purchased my index number with the NY State Supreme Court since 02/**/13. All of my finalized uncontested divorce documents were given directly to them on April **, 2013 and I was assured these documents would have been filed with the court by April**, 2013. After many attempts at trying to reach Law Guides I was told by the NY State Supreme Court that none of my documents have ever been filed in the court. On July *, 2013, I called Law Guides again and heard their voicemail message indicating that they have transferred their business to other company called "Virtual Express Divorce" in the message on Law Guides website there is no information on how to contact this new company. I can't express to you how stressful this situation has become for me. I sincerely hope that your agency can assist me in getting a resolution.Desired Settlement: I would like to know where is all of my uncontested divorce paperwork and I would like a refund in the amount of 425.00 for services not completely rendered.

Sincerely,

Review: Paid this company on 09/**/2012 for online divorce all paperwork was sent in to the office in a timely matter notarized and signed. Till this date over a year later my case has not been filed. The phone number listed is disconnected and trying to contact anyone via email is a waste of time. I have written several emails with no answer. The only email they answered was one where I stated I was going to walk in the office to discuss my case to which I received the reply that they are an internet only business however, they ignored all my other e-mails.

By the way, the company is now called [redacted] and moved to a new location.Desired Settlement: All I want if for them to either file my case or return my money so that I can personally filed my case.

Sincerely,

Review: I went to Law Guides Corp for their assistance in filing for divorce in Jan paid 335 received my index number once I paid the bal of 210 in March. Was told that the paper work will be taken to the court friday March * and I should be finalized by June early July. Went to supreme court on center st to find out status and they said they don't have any files or records of my case. Said they had many people coming there complaining that they used Law Guides corp and they were waiting for their status as well. Infomed me to contact them to see if they have a calendar number for me, but the number rings up busy or no answer. I desperately need this divorce and if they cannot provide me with the calendar number saying they took my paper work to court, then I want a full refund back, so I can seek another service provider so I can proceed with this divorce.

Review: I paid this company to handle the paperwork for my divorce, but they never processed the documents, never contacted me, and never returned my money. They have since changed their telephone number and email address, neither of which connects you to a person anyway.
