The client signed and returned a retainer agreement, authorizing us to appear and dispose of the case. The original amount of the traffic school fee to the court was $291.00. The confusion lies in that the bail amount on the ticket is $239.00. We actually reduced the price of the ticket and put her...
on a monthly payment plan. Traffic school will avoid the ticket appearing on her record. [redacted]
Review: Sought to get my cell phone ticket dismissed. Mitchell
J [redacted] & [redacted] law office in which the business used to fix my
ticket was a terrible experience. I got a $20 speeding ticket which I accept i
missed the court date due to never receiving my courtesy notice and losing my
ticket (my fault). I paid the $99 so that Mr Ticket would fight my case. It
failed so I called to see what happened. The receptionist was very rude,
talking down to me, she then informed me that the lawyer shows up to the court
hoping that the police officer does not show, if the officer shows, thats it
games over my case is lost and I pay entire fine. I could have done that myself
without a law degree and saving $99. I asked if I could have a phone
appointment with Mr. [redacted] in which she replied he will call you back and
hung up as I was saying thank you. I called once more after a month to see if i
could talk to Mr. [redacted], the receptionist again told me he would call me back.
He never did.Desired Settlement: I would like Mr. [redacted] and their associates to
clearly say they are not doing any practices in law but are simply going to the
customers court date for them hoping the officer does not show. I would also
like an apology for having to deal with an insanely rude receptionist and no
information given to me by the lawyer (a simple phone call would have been fine
but he never called).

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I called the business in question multiple times after the initial incident to discuss with Mr. M[redacted] how poorly his phone operator treated me however I never received a phone call back. After I reported his business to you, the Revdex.com, he calls me. Actions speak louder then words and a return of a phone call will no resolve my issue. A formal letter of apology might satisfy me but other then that I would like a refund.

Review: This law firm was hired to represent me in traffic court. I received a traffic ticket while on vacation in California in November 2014. I made contact with the the law firm a total of three times to get a status update for my case and on two separate occasions I advised them that I had not received any correspondence from them. They did not have my Chicago address even though I provided them the correct contact info on each occasion. Each time I called, I was told the case was still pending and the attorney requested an extension. Finally I was told the final court date would be in September of 2015. I finally received my first correspondence from them advising me that they changed my plea from not guilty to guilty and I have to pay a court fee of $35, a violation fee of $241, and the cost of traffic school ($22.95), all in addition to the cost of retaining them as council. When I called to ask why this happened, I was told the officer who issued the ticket told my attorney that I switched multiple lanes without signaling and my attorney felt it was a case he couldn't win, so he just changed my plea.
So first, I was NEVER contacted by the attorney to even get a statement from me as to what happened aside form the initial form I filled out. Second, NO ONE asked me if I wanted to change my plea. Next, NO ONE told me what the police officer said, which was an absolute lie, so I never had a chance to contest it. Multiple lane switching wasn't even noted on the ticket I received. Also, I NEVER requested traffic school or agreed to wanting to do traffic school. This attorney made these decisions on his own without ever consulting with me once. As a result, I am out extra money and time. When I asked why this happened, the attorney said, well you're only out a little extra money and plus, I can't change what's already happened." REALLY? Their job was to represent me, not make a decision to change my plea from not guilty to guilty without consulting with me.Desired Settlement: I paid for a service I did NOT receive. Their job was to represent me and instead they made decisions without ever consulting with me and as a result it ended up costing me more money.
