Law Offices of Fredrick M. Jones Reviews (5)

I was referred to this attorney from [redacted] for divorce filing I only spoke with him once and that was on the telephone on December I explained that this was an uncontested divorce with no children and was anxious to get it behind me On December 23, he emailed me documents A Client Information sheet, A fee agreement ($2,+ costs and expenses) and a Divorce Checklist where I listed both our names, addresses, phone numbers, social security numbers, drivers license numbers, birth dates, income information, physical description of the other party, list of assets and how to be split, list of debts and how to be split On December 26, I completed the Client Information sheet and submitted a very detailed page Divorce Checklist and emailed it to him on December 26, I did not hear from him again and was getting anxious so did some research and found that I could get this uncontested divorce elsewhere for $including court costs So I emailed him on January 22, saying that it had been days since I submitted my information and I have decided to go a different direction and to please issue me a refund That very afternoon I got an email (still no phone contact) stating " I'm so sorry for the delay First there was the holiday break and right after that I had numerous hearings I have completed your initial papers and I can have (spouse's name) served within days of your returning the notarized verification." Attached was a page "PETITION OFR DISSOLUTION OF MARRIAGE" (note misspelled word) It consisted of paragraphs with the longest paragraph being lines and stated that Respondent was unemployed (My "Divorce Checklist stated that his employment was "unknown")In addition, my Divorce Checklist spelled out exactly how the assets and debts were to be split However, the Petition merely stated that I, the Petitioner requested the court to: Divide the parties' assets and liabilities in a fashion that is not unreasonable Award the Petitioner her reasonable attorney's fees and costs incurred herein For such other and further relief as is appropriate I emailed him back the same day and stated the errors and that I was very unhappy with his service and wanted a refund On January 30, I emailed him again stating that it had now been another week and I needed to know what position he was going to take on this He responded by email on Febr with "Barbara, I will begin processing the refund" On February 10, I emailed him again asking "how long does it take to process a refund? He replied the same day with "I hire an outside billing company that process bill for all my law office accounts/employees once per month I did put in a call to her last week though and asked that she process your billing immediately I should have your refund check to you next week On February 18, 2015, I contacted the corporate office of [redacted] in Oklahoma and submitted my story along with all the supporting documents They took it from there and it still took several phone calls for them to get a response from him Finally on March 14, I received a hand written check dated 3-11-for the amount due me The envelope was typed had my name spelled wrong, my address spelled wrong and the city of Mesa spelled Meas, AZ It's a wonder I even got it

Fredrick M. Jones is an attorney in Phoenix who takes your money and does nothing to deserve it. He does not stay in touch with his clients. I live in CA, and he "[redacted]"umes things about AZ, and he lives there. He thinks most of AZ is Maricopa county, and my case was actually in La Paz County. I found him to be very incompetentent.

I was referred to this attorney from [redacted] for divorce filing. I only spoke with him once and that was on the telephone on December 22. 2014. I explained that this was an uncontested divorce with no children and was anxious to get it behind me.
On December 23, 2014 he emailed me 3 documents. A Client Information sheet, A fee agreement ($2,826.50 + costs and expenses) and a Divorce Checklist where I listed both our names, addresses, phone numbers, social security numbers, drivers license numbers, birth dates, income information, physical description of the other party, list of assets and how to be split, list of debts and how to be split
On December 26, 2014 I completed the Client Information sheet and submitted a very detailed 5 page Divorce Checklist and emailed it to him on December 26, 2014.
I did not hear from him again and was getting anxious so did some research and found that I could get this uncontested divorce elsewhere for $727.00 including court costs. So I emailed him on January 22, 2015 saying that it had been 22 days since I submitted my information and I have decided to go a different direction and to please issue me a refund. That very afternoon I got an email (still no phone contact) stating " I'm so sorry for the delay. First there was the holiday break and right after that I had numerous hearings. I have completed your initial papers and I can have (spouse's name) served within 2 days of your returning the notarized verification."
Attached was a 2 page "PETITION OFR DISSOLUTION OF MARRIAGE" (note misspelled word). It consisted of 10 paragraphs with the longest paragraph being 2 lines and stated that Respondent was unemployed. (My "Divorce Checklist stated that his employment was "unknown"). In addition, my Divorce Checklist spelled out exactly how the assets and debts were to be split However, the Petition merely stated that I, the Petitioner requested the court to:
1. Divide the parties' assets and liabilities in a fashion that is not unreasonable
2. Award the Petitioner her reasonable attorney's fees and costs incurred herein
3. For such other and further relief as is appropriate
I emailed him back the same day and stated the errors and that I was very unhappy with his service and wanted a refund.
On January 30, 2015 I emailed him again stating that it had now been another week and I needed to know what position he was going to take on this. He responded by email on Febr 4 with "Barbara, I will begin processing the refund"
On February 10, 2015 I emailed him again asking "how long does it take to process a refund? He replied the same day with "I hire an outside billing company that process bill for all my law office accounts/employees once per month. I did put in a call to her last week though and asked that she process your billing immediately. I should have your refund check to you next week.
On February 18, 2015, I contacted the corporate office of [redacted] in Oklahoma and submitted my story along with all the supporting documents.
