After the supposedly third attempt to mail a check, it was finally received....
We do not believe in the version of events as stated in the response from this firm. We were told this would be a flat fee transaction. Lessons learned: Get it in writing. Also, as I have a right to inform whomever I choose and take whatever means are available for me to voice my complaints (aka freedom of speech), this law firm can feel free to proceed with their "threat" to take legal remedies. Otherwise, I feel this situation has finally been resolved.
