Revdex.com: I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint because Lawn Doctor did not actually propose any action to resolve this complaint A Lawn Doctor rep met with Mrs [redacted] and agreed to re-treat the whole yard for the crabgrass and weeds that were NOT properly treated by Lawn Doctor during the preceding year despite numerous complaintsWhen Lawn Doctor called the [redacted] household a week later to talk about selling us new new services (power seeding) and Mr [redacted] asked about re-treatment, the plan discussed with Mrs [redacted] was suddenly limited to re-treating the back yard only even though the whole yard is infested with weeds and crabgrassSo Mr [redacted] certainly did get upset because the "new" re-treatment plan ignored all other parts of the yard that are as bad or worse than the back yardDuring that call with Mr***, instead of planning to re-treat the whole yard as originally discussed with Mrs***, Lawn Doctor elected to cancel our serviceAnd that's when we filed a Revdex.com complaint because Lawn Doctor was not willing to fix all of their mistakes. As the video CLEARLY shows, Lawn Doctor did not properly care for any part of our lawn during the regularly scheduled visits or the re-treatmentsThis is not a matter of opinion, the video shows crabgrass and weeds all over the lawn and they were there the week before when the technician walked the yard with Mrs***Lawn Doctor may think it meaningful to recite their guarantee but one look at our yard is all it takes to know the guarantee means nothing, they had multiple regularly scheduled treatments plus a couple of re-treatments and our lawn STILL looks worse than when they startedAnd bugs in the lawn that Lawn Doctor misdiagnosed the first time are not the reason for crabgrass and weeds, not properly applying the treatments we paid for is the only logical reason for all the crabgrass and weeds.Lawn Doctor knows the chemicals they use will prevent weeds and crabgrass IF they are properly appliedAnd since our entire lawn is full of weeds and crabgrass as evidenced by the video, the only possible conclusion is that the chemicals were not properly appliedLawn Doctor can claim otherwise until they are blue in the face but our lawn's current condition more than speaks for itselfLawn Doctor obviously did not deliver the services they were paid to deliver or our lawn would not look this bad after just a year under their careAnd because the lawn looks terrible everywhere, Lawn Doctor cannot claim to have earned ANY of the money we paid them because there isn't one part of our yard that looks better than when Lawn Doctor started their treatment programLawn Doctor must accept responsibility for their technicians NOT applying the chemicals properly to our yard and refund all money we paid Regards, [redacted] ***

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below The way I see this I have unresolved issues: 1) Lawn Doctor of Stafford is using confusing and unethical business practices and 2) They billed us (and we paid) for a service that was not performed. In attachments It is clear that they "recommend" pelletized lime for our yard in both initial (spring and fall) evaluations of our yardIt is also clear that we are to notify them IF we want this serviceWe never requested this service from Lawn DoctorThe fact that they included it in a list of "scheduled services" does not mean we requested it IF their policy is to require a customer to request a service, then the practice of adding it without the customers approval is unethicalIn Lawn Doctors response, they included documents that are offer letters for additional services at a discounted priceBoth letters have an expiration date! They are by no means contracts of any kindTheir response to this complaint implies that the customer has the responsibility to study an offer letter and find inconsistencies between an offer and a contract that the business has added, and contact them As far as I'm concerned, those letters are just a sales adI know what services we have requested, and we only requested the basic serviceThe fact that they added services is not my responsibilityIn writing, Lawn Doctor makes it clear that customers must request additional services If Lawn Doctor performs these services without customer request, it is on Lawn Doctors dime, not the customers Second, Lawn Doctor DID NOT perform the service that they are billing usI am always here when Lawn Doctor comesI may not always talk to the technician(s) but I always know they are hereI work from home and when I believe ANYONE is going to be on my property, I am sure to be hereOn 2/28/17, I was here all day! I was also waiting on another appointment, so I was constantly watchingAnd, I was expected Lawn Doctor on this day, as my husband received an email saying someone would be coming to perform a service--we were prepared to speak to the representative Also, they say they were here at 2:45pm for minutes, during this time, both of my children are arriving homeI ALWAYS watch for them, and I would have seen the Lawn Doctor representative and/or vehicleIn addition, we have a large dog who barks anytime someone is near our property--even cars in the cul-de-sacShe would have alerted me that someone was here No one ever came! I can guarantee if someone was on our property for minutes, one of the three humans would have know, because the canine would have definitely alerted usFinally, on this point, that evening, my husband and I walked the property looking for signs of product on the ground BEFORE allowing our dog to go outside and "play"There were no signs of any product, and no notice under our front door mat where they usually leave a billthis honestly wasn't an issue for us, because we had been notified in the past that someone would be here and they "no-showed" this was not an unusual occurrencewe were not surprised that they hadn't come, but we are shocked that we are being billed for a service that wasn't performed There is no doubt in my mind that no one from Lawn Doctor performed any service at our home that day Regards, [redacted] ***

The customer contacted Revdex.com and said this issues has been resolved by the business

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The way I see this I have 2 unresolved issues: 1) Lawn Doctor of Stafford is using confusing and unethical business practices and 2) They billed us (and we paid) for a service that was not performed. In attachments It is clear that they "recommend" pelletized lime for our yard in both initial (spring and fall) evaluations of our yard. It is also clear that we are to notify them IF we want this service. We never requested this service from Lawn Doctor. The fact that they included it in a list of "scheduled services" does not mean we requested it.  IF their policy is to require a customer to request a service, then the practice of adding it without the customers approval is unethical. In Lawn Doctors response, they included documents that are offer letters for additional services at a discounted price. Both letters have an expiration date! They are by no means contracts of any kind. Their response to this complaint implies that the customer has the responsibility to study an offer letter and find inconsistencies between an offer and a contract that the business has added, and contact them.  As far as I'm concerned, those letters are just a sales ad. I know what services we have requested, and we only requested the basic service. The fact that they added services is not my responsibility. In writing, Lawn Doctor makes it clear that customers must request additional services.  If Lawn Doctor performs these services without customer request, it is on Lawn Doctors dime, not the customers.  Second, Lawn Doctor DID NOT perform the service that they are billing us. I am always here when Lawn Doctor comes. I may not always talk to the technician(s) but I always know they are here. I work from home and when I believe ANYONE is going to be on my property, I am sure to be here. On 2/28/17, I was here all day! I was also waiting on another appointment, so I was constantly watching. And, I was expected Lawn Doctor on this day, as my husband received an email saying someone would be coming to perform a service--we were prepared to speak to the representative.  Also, they say they were here at 2:45pm for 18 minutes, during this time, both of my children are arriving home. I ALWAYS watch for them, and I would have seen the Lawn Doctor representative and/or vehicle. In addition, we have a large dog who barks anytime someone is near our property--even cars in the cul-de-sac. She would have alerted me that someone was here.  No one ever came! I can guarantee if someone was on our property for 18 minutes, one of the three humans would have know, because the canine would have definitely alerted us. Finally, on this point, that evening, my husband and I walked the property looking for signs of product on the ground BEFORE allowing our dog to go outside and "play". There were no signs of any product, and no notice under our front door mat where they usually leave a bill. this honestly wasn't an issue for us, because we had been notified in the past that someone would be here and they "no-showed".  this was not an unusual occurrence. we were not surprised that they hadn't come, but we are shocked that we are being billed for a service that wasn't performed.  There is no doubt in my mind that no one from Lawn Doctor performed any service at our home that day.

In regard to the above referenced complaint made by Mr. [redacted], Mr. [redacted] is correct that we have provided six (6) lawn services for his property. We have also returned to the property on three (3) occasions to re-apply per the custome~s request On 11/03/2014, Mr. [redacted] expressed...

concern that the Lawn*Doctor technician did not effectively service his property according to a video he had from a camera(s) on his house. It was explained to Mr. [redacted] that the equipment we use on our customers' lawns can effectively and properly service 1000 square feet a minute and is specially manufactured and calibrated to deliver a ground-metered application. If any areas were missed, it would be quite apparent by an obvious difference in turf color. In this type of situation, the lawn would appear "striped". This did not occur on the [redacted]'s property, thus assuring the application was proper and effective. A copy of the video was requested but Mr. [redacted] did not produce one for our review. On 08/04/2015 I walked the entire property with Mrs. [redacted] and had a very pleasant and amicable conversation with her. I identified an insect problem; sod webworm. Mrs. [redacted] informed me that they had applied an insect control product themselves at an earlier date. Unfortunately, they had mis-identified the insect problem and applied an inappropriate product During my inspection of the lawn when walking the property with Mrs. [redacted], a plan of action was discussed. and approved. Lawn*Doctor would apply a product to help with crabgrass that had appeared in places in-the lawn. For that application, I explained to Mrs. [redacted] that the weather conditions needed to be appropriate to help eliminate the possibility of damage to the existing turf. Mrs. [redacted] requested pricing for PowerSeeding certain areas of the lawn and I told her I would get back to her with that information. At the time of my telephone call on 08/08/2015 to provide the requested PowerSeeding pricing, Mr. [redacted] became highly agitated. During that telephone call , all further Lawn*Doctor services were cancelled. Our Lawn*Doctor guarantee states that if any application does not achieve satisfactory results, we will return and re-apply at no additional cost. This guarantee was upheld and there is no refund owed. Sincerely, [redacted] Owner

if there are any changes you wish to make to the scheduled services. The services scheduled for your property for the 2017 season are the same as the services provided for your property in 2015 and 2016. Written notice is required for changes in service."In total you have received at least 21 invoices/statements/correspondence from our office with the notification to contact our office if you wish to make changes to the services scheduled for your property. As we discussed on the telephone on May 3, 2017 at approximately 12:21pm, if you had any concern about the services provided on February 28, 2017 and March 22, 2017 we would have had the technicians return to the property on those dates to show you the clear evidence of the application made to the lawn. Again, the technician left information for Ms. [redacted] that the property needed watering and was still being cut too short Ms. [redacted] spoke with the Lawn""Doctor Service Supervisor after the 08/23/2016 service. At this time, it was reiterated once again that the townhouse property required Fall seeding in order to become a lawn. At the time of this conversation, Ms. [redacted] acknowledged that she does not water the property. Due to the extreme heat waves in 2016 during three different time periods, the area suffered with heat indexes of 110~116 degrees. We emailed and/or called all our customers with the information that due to the severity of the environmental conditions, every property would require Fall seeding. The first notification occurred on September 18, 2016; the second notification on September 30, 2016; a fallow-up email on October 5, 2016. · At no time did Ms. [redacted] authorize any seeding work for her property. Ms. [redacted] contacted our office after receiving a letter from her Homeowners' Association. Ms. [redacted] was told that we would respond to the letter on her behalf stating that the appropriate time to seed is Fall. Until 3 weeks ago, the entire region suffered through 10 months of drought. And, yes, Ms. [redacted]'s property still requires seeding in order to become a lawn. The correct time to seed is Fall and appropriate charges would apply for the service. Should Ms. [redacted] decide that she desires sod, the appropriate price would be quoted.

After previously having a lawn care company for two years and never having issues, we switched to Lawn Doctor after receiving a great offer in March 2015. They did our service at the end of March and by mid April our yard has never looked worse. When I called them to come out when they had the chance to look at it, [redacted] argued and insisted I was looking at grass and even had me take pictures! Funny part was I was right and they still would not come back out until my next service (which is against what they preach). So after having paid $200 for this one service (including Lime), it makes me sick. I might as well flushed $200 down the drain because I'm not sure they ever put anything down! Honestly, the worst customer service from a company too that I ever have had!

Review: After a year with Lawn Doctor of Fredericksburg, our yard is in MUCH worse shape than we were haphazardly caring for it ourselves. Over the last year, we've complained at least three times about the technicians making a pass or two through the yard and even offered to show the home office video clips from our video surveillance system. After walking the yard with Mrs. [redacted] last week, a technician named Chris told me that the crabgrass in our front yard/hill "isn't bad" and they weren't going to do anything about it. A video of our "isn't bad" crabgrass-filled lawn can be viewed at:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Qi49ZQpsPkDesired Settlement: If Lawn Doctor of Fredericksburg is not willing to fix ALL of the weeds and crabgrass in our lawn as Chris indicated on the phone Saturday morning, we would like a refund of ALL monies paid to them over the last year.

And because the lawn looks terrible everywhere, Lawn Doctor cannot claim to have earned ANY of the money we paid them because there isn't one part of our yard that looks better than when Lawn Doctor started their treatment program. Lawn Doctor must accept responsibility for their technicians NOT applying the chemicals properly to our yard and refund all money we paid.

Regards,

Review: Lawn Doctor came to my home to give me a quote for my lawn. I received a quote and several weeks later Lawn doctor came to my home and seeded the front and back yard unbeknown to me. The following day I was in the garage and an employee from Lawn doctor approached me to say he forgot to give me the invoice from yesterday's work. I told him that I never ordered Lawn Doctor's services. I only received a quote. The gentlemen said, He would take it up with his [redacted]. A month later I received a call from one of the owners of Lawn Doctor asking for payment for services. I assured the lady that I did not order any type of services through Lawn Doctor. I also asked her if she could send me an invoice. I told her, I did not want to give my credit card to a stranger and I never signed or verbally agreed to any services through Lawn Care. She began to explain that their business did not work that way (regarding the invoice). And one of her employees would never just come to someone house to do work. I tried to explain to her that I didn't mind paying for the services rendered. I was not going to pay for it over the phone. I also insisted on seeing an invoice and or talking with the gentlemen that originally came to my home. The alleged owner was condescending and insinuating that I was lying. She was very disrespectful. I retorted that I wanted to see an invoice before I paid the amount. She continued to be condescending and I just hung up the phone.Desired Settlement: I would love my money back. I just wanted a proper invoice. The guy showed me that he did drop the pellets. I wanted to honor his work even though I never agreed to the treatments. Lawn Doctor, up until that point had never called me regarding showing up to my house and or doing treatments to the lawn. I was not just going to give my credit card to a rude lady over the phone claiming that she was one of the owners. I have Never been treated that way before. I never received an invoice. My account went straight to collections.
