Review: Lawnmasters provides lawn cutting & snow removal to our home. In February 2014, they applied de-icer (magnesium chloride) to our sidewalk that destroyed the concrete. We are having to replace the sidewalk. They are claiming it is not their responsibility due to the frequent freeze/thaw cycles this winter, so they do not need to reimburse us. Our complaint is that Lawnmasters didn't perform "due care" in carrying out their duties. It is extensively written in the magnesium chloride literature that is causes extreme damage to concrete if used during frequent freeze/thaw cycles. As snow removal professionals they should have known the magnesium chloride would damage the concrete ( it damaged many sidewalks besides ours)Desired Settlement: We wish for Lawnmasters to reimburse us for repair to our sidewalk. We got three estimates and $1,100 was the lowest. We are having the sidewalk repaired in August 2014. We request reimbursement from Lawnmasters because they caused harm to our property and should have known the concrete would be damaged due to the conditions.
