Review: I purchased gift certificates 80.00 and used 42.** and place closed for Winter before I could use all of the balance. contacted business openingOf following year 2014 and was told my certain where their and wasEven verified by name of certs still their and could use them.I go get a load of mulch material and when time to pay I was told They are not to be found and would not honor them, this is from the Same guy who sold me the mulch in 2013 and verified to me they whereTheir just days before I went to get mulch. After purchase I asked for a receipt and was told that if I want a receiptI'll have to pay more?So cheated of nearly 40.00 and sounds like tax evasion to me.[redacted]Desired Settlement: I want the remaining balance in goods as expected.

Response:
Ms. [redacted] is correct that she did purchase gift certificates and used a portion of that
amount in the fall of 2013. We did close for the season on Oct. 26, 2013. Ms.
[redacted] left the gift certificates laying on the counter when she left, since I had no way
to contact her, I kept them until around the beginning of April ( would Walmart do that?)
Ms. [redacted] is correct that an employee did tell her the gift certificates were still there
and they were, until I cleaned up the counter and decided to throw them out. Ms.
[redacted] did not come to pick up mulch, her husband did. Mr. [redacted] never
mentioned the gift certificates until the mulch was loaded. Ms. [redacted] is incorrect
about being charged more if she needed a receipt.
When I asked Mr. [redacted] how much was left on the gift certificates he said "about
$40.00". When Ms. [redacted] called to complain, I asked her about the amount
remaining and she said "about $80.00".
To settle this matter I will give her the remaining amount available on those gift
certificates in materials if she provides receipt from original purchase so that the
remaining balance can be determined.
I request that the last statement of her complaint be removed as one business has
nothing to do with the other and I have never received a complaint for the lawn care
service.
Sincerely,
Wayne Willard
