Lawton Collision Center

On February 10th, 2020 we went and had my boyfriend's truck looked at the Lawton Collision Repair off of Cache Rd. We got told we could get a check cut to us for $1,115.03 to cover the damages with the owner of the vehicles approval. A week passes and I get a check in the mail from Geico in my name and the lien holders name. My boyfriend called asking if they can make it out to him since its his vehicle, so he can just cash it and get the repairs done himself at a shop of his choosing. Geico informed us since there is a lien on the vehicle we must have the owners permission to list the check in our names and they could make it a two party check with the body shop we choose. It took a while to get ahold of *** (owner of the vehicle) a few weeks, but Geico only called *** twice and gave up. I called a few times even wrote emails to Geico asking if they had any luck getting ahold of *** and they told me no. I only found out they called *** twice because I threatened to get an attorney on Geico for taking so long to take care of my claim and they kept blaming it on *** not answering, and some head guy from Gieco called me and told me they have done everything they cane on there end of the claim and I would need to reach out to *** myself. We had to get him on the line for Geico to okay it. Then they issued us another check with the body shop and my name since I am the insured policy owner. Two weeks rolled by and no check came, we called the shop everyday asking if they got it. I called Geico back and she verified the check was sent, and confirmed the address with me which was wrong. So they cancelled that check and supposedly issued another one to the correct body shop address. Another week goes by, still no check..mind you still calling shop everyday to check that they didn't get it. The girl tells me she can cancel the last check and issue a new one. Still no check came. Finally, May 19th I call Gieco furious wanting to know where that check is and the claims specialist Destiny tells me the girl never actually issued the check to go out the last time I called but she would issue it right now as we were on the phone and it would arrive in 7-10 business days. Now we are playing the waiting game again for this check on our claim. Today is May 22, 2020 and this claim was filed on February 10, 2020. This is way to long to be waiting on a check for my repairs. This has to be against the claim payout timeframes. I myself am an insurance agent and I am pretty sure an an agency you only have 30 days.
