and circumstances regarding the treatment he had completed by DrShirmanUpon review, Mr*** had paid for his agreed portion of the completed treatment and there in fact was a mistake made with our billing department for the treatment he had completedI credited Mr***'s remaining balance, honoring the warranty of the treatment we had completed on Mr***'s tooth and crediting his broken appointment fee for a previous appointment that should have been taken out of the schedule, per Mr***Mr***'s account balance is zero; account is in good standing and no further payment is expected.We had emailed Mr***, per request, his current account ledger, stating a zero balanceMy Apologies were made to Mr*** for the inconvenience and miscommunication that had occurredAll was resolved and expressed if there was anything else I could assist Mr*** with regards to his account, I would be happy to help out.Best Regards,Kari SBusiness Administrator***

dental feesWe do not, nor are we required to, perform prior authorizations on dental proceduresThe only time that we consistently perform prior authorizations is for orthodontic treatmentIn addition to our financial policy, the treatment plan, which the patient also signs, states that ultimately the patient is responsible for payment and being familiar with their insurance benefits (see attached)We offered Mrs*** a payment plan to pay the balance, but she refused and wanted the entire balance written offWe do have signed treatment plans and financial agreements that states she would pay for any dental procedures even if her dental insurance does not pay for the procedureAgain, it is not our policy to submit prior authorizations for every treatment plan in the officeWe do so when the patient asks us to do so PRIOR to the start of treatment or for orthodontics.Should you need additional information, please feel free to contact me at any timeMy information is below.Sincerely,Michelle F*

I am rejecting this response because:
My biggest complaint here is I was NEVER told that they only do pre-determinations for orthodonticsNever onceMy only course of action would be to assume that since they were done for both me (who has never had orthodontics) and my daughter (who did have orthodontics) is that they do the pre-determinations for everyoneAgain, had this been run we would never have opted for the procedureThis office is shady and has poor business practiceThe bottom line is they do not care about their patients well-being, only for the almighty dollarCommunication is key b/t client and doctor and I find their communication skills to be lacking
