Laz Parking Reviews (%countItem)

This review is for the LAZ Parking garage located on ***. I started my monthly parking membership with them on 7/*/17. It's a lightly used garage that's had barely over 200 monthly members since it's inception. I bring this up to demonstrate that almost every car in the garage is accessible in under two minutes. Your car isn't buried three cars deep on the fourth floor like in most Manhattan garages. For my first week in my new apartment I was unable to call ahead to request the car in five minutes in advance, as requested by the manager. My building allowed no cell phone service and I had yet to have a hard line installed. It was quicker for me to walk downstairs and wait the two minutes for the attendant (ordinarily sitting there doing nothing or sleeping in his own car) to pull the car up. This was too difficult for the inconsiderate manager to handle and he thus asked me to find another garage to park my car. On another occasion the day time attendant chased me twenty yards up the ramp screaming and cursing at me because I forgot to leave my key. A simple, excuse me would have been sufficient. All in all an unpleasant experience. The only positive I can find is the overnight attendant. He was very accommodating and polite.

Laz Parking Response

I'm not responsible for the Brooklyn area.

Please submit to Kevin S at *** I don't oversee this location.

There is not a 24 hour towing truck service in place for customers like myself who are paying for a reserved parking spot which cost $340 yearly. I was asking legitimate questions about the the towing services, non reserved fees and why the company says are spots in the Coney Island area are mostly reserved which most parking spot are not being utilized. The company states that they only offer mostly reserved spots. I personally been inconvenienced numerous of times last year. Now because I'm inquiring about the way they do business to customers like myself now they refuse to renew my parking space.

Laz Parking Response

Good Afternoon,

We are happy to address any towing concerns you may have by emailing the offending vehicles information to *** or by calling and pushing option 4 for the enforcement voicemail. These are both monitored 24/7 by the enforcement team. Additionally, all NYCHA building managers have been empowered to call the tow vendors directly if you have a more urgent concern. We urge you to utilize all resources available to you and we will continue to enforce the 5 boroughs to the best of our ability.

Regarding your renewal, your first application did not have a visible registration attached, which is why it was denied and this explanation was emailed to the email on your application. The second time you applied it was done correctly and you were approved on 5/*/2017 at 7:53PM which is the same time an email generated asking you to log back in a pay for the permit. At this time we are still waiting for payment to be processed and as soon as this is received your new 2017/2018 permit will go into production and then be mailed.

I hope this answers your question and have a nice day.

Laz Parking Response

Good Afternoon,

LAZ Parking manages the permitting operations on behalf of the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). This means we provide the permits, customer service, and a small enforcement team for NYCHA developments throughout the 5 boroughs, but that we have to follow and enforce NYCHA's rules. These rules are available at the website ***, and are signed off on by every application prior to being approved for a permit. NYCHA offers permits that exist in a one year cycle from May *** - April *** of the following year. Because of NYCHA's significantly under market parking rates, many people choose to sign up outside of those parameters, but are still consenting to them as is depicted in documentation provided. For this reason we can not request a refund from NYCHA for what you have indicated, but we apologize if this is found to be unsatisfactory. I would encourage you to review the rules and regulations agreed to at the website referenced above, and I think you will find that we acted as they are laid out.

I should be refunded at least from March *** 2017 - April ***.2017. I contacted Laz/Nycha as soon as I was transferred. I was given a safety transfer. When I applied I saw a statement regarding a refund if transfer or move took place. I see now the rules are listed clearer and I believe this is due to the constant issues with these parking lots. Just because you get a lower rate does not mean you are due decent service

We do understand why you desire a refund for the month you did not live in the development where you purchased a year long parking pass. However, as the parking management company for the New York City Housing Authority it is our responsibility to uphold their rules and regulations, and in this case that is related to their parking permit cycle of one year. We apologize for any inconvenience, but we have made every effort as has NYCHA to make this yearly cycle transparent in any and all documentation related to parking.

I WAS CHEATED OUT OF MONEY. I UTILIZED THAT PARKING SPACE APPROXIMATELY 4 MONTHS.

I purchase a yearly parking permit for the Port Jervis Train Station in Port Jervis, NY. On Wednesday, April *, 2017 I was issued a parking ticket even though I had renewed my parking permit on March *, 2017. LAZ Parking claims I still had the old parking permit on display. Even if this is the case, when the parking attendant scanned the bar code on the permit the system should have indicated I renewed my permit. It is not fair that I have to pay $35 even though I had already renewed my permit. They claim the attendant would not have know this, this is not true because the parking ticket is computer generated. The parking attendant knew all about the status of my parking permit.

Laz Parking Response

The Parking Rules and regulations agreed to by the customer at the time of purchase and renewal of the permit state that a current permit must be displayed at all times. Customers receive a copy of these rules and they are available on the website. Enforcement agents have no access to the customer’s account information. They visually inspect each permit displayed on the vehicle. They will issue notices to vehicles that are displaying an expired permit.
