Review: I called Lazer Heating prior to the work being done and talked to them about the project. I told them very specifically what needed to be done and had other companies bid the same work for about $200. After detailing the scope of work he said it would be an hour of work at $45 per hour plus materials which would not be much. After the work was completed I received a bill in the mail for $341 (3 hours of work and $155 in parts). The interesting thing is that I was present the entire time the technician did the work. He was there for under an hour and the parts used I have priced out at Home Depot for around $60. I called the company to remind them of our conversation and let them know they had an error in their billing, but Lazer Heating was unwilling to work with me and as such I have refused to pay the amount they are billing me for. I told the company I would be willing to pay $200, based off of bids from other companies, but I am not willing to pay for the amount billed when clearly they were not there for 3 hours and the parts used did not total $150.Desired Settlement: I would be willing to pay $200 even though I think that is more than I should be billed, but I am willing to pay that based on the other bids received.

I am writing in response to a complaint levied by [redacted]. On March 3, 2014 Lazer Heating received a call from [redacted] wanting to have gas piping run to his range. During this call [redacted] was informed that Lazer Heating has a $250.00 minimum for jobs of this nature. At Lazer Heating $250.00 is a standing minimum for all time and materials jobs. We agreed on $45.00 an hour plus the cost of materials for a minimum of $250.00. The total price would include labor to include mobilization, permit, flexible gas line, all fittings, and testing. It is unclear why Mr. [redacted] chose to go with Lazer Heating which has a $250.00 minimum despite his having other firm bids of $200.00.

As far as job execution, when our technician arrived Mr. [redacted] was not home. Our technician called to get direction about how to proceed. Over the phone Mr. [redacted] had given our business permission to enter through the back door and get started. Lazer Heating completed the job and billed [redacted] the total cost of $341.13. After receiving the bill Mr. [redacted] called to complain about the bill and was informed the amount was correct. Despite the fact that the bill was correct, out of courtesy Lazer Heating reduced the bill to a total of $296.13. Lazer Heating is unwilling to reduce the bill any further.
