The smell obviously I ? can't capture but we stayed because there is an emphatic no refund rule? Funny the cabin has since sold? That speaks volumes to me Regards, [redacted] ***

The guest emailed me days after their departure. they did not notify me during their stay so we could inspect and verifyAs soon as I got the email I sent my staff to inspect and we found nothing. we have guests who have stayed in that cabin since. I will send a discount
certificate for a future stay

has been corrected *** *** stayed at the cabin for nights Even though the cabin is not "Brand New", and other than a screen door that needs replaced, it is not in disrepair and has all the amenities as listed on our web site. It is a very popular cabin rental with 85% occupancy in the month of October While, we don't feel a refund is in order, we are sending *** *** a Lodging Discount Certificate for a return stay in one of our other cabins as this cabin, *** *** has been sold "disappointing"weeks agoReviewed by *** *we just got back from a day stay at the *** *** cabinlet me say first that according to your website this cabin is described as "brand new"it is quite obviously not "brand new"upon entering we noticed the screen was torn on the outer doorsomeone had tried repairing it with duct tape and a broken ruler(the other screen door was ripped also)then we open the door and were greeted by an overwhelmingly musty mildew smellso we immediately open all the windows which we found were filled with dirt and debris(note this did nothing to alleviate the smell which was just as bad when we left)the pillows were flat as pancakes and the only other amenity besides the toilet paper was mico bars of soapno wi-fiand we had the pleasure of getting to clean up before we leftthe final insult? a tip envelope! for what? we left it cleaner than we found itthey should have tipped us!LessResponse Publishedlazylane, Manager at Lazy Lane Cabins, responded to this review, Oct 7, 2017Well, thanks for pointing that out on the web site*** *** is a rustic cabin in the woods and was built a few years back, sorry that wasn't removed from the web siteSometimes when cabins sit empty without a/c running, because they sit in a wooded area, yes they can be musty when first openingI apologize my housekeepers did not clean out the window debris, I hope you found the cabin clean otherwiseI will let the owners know to replace the screen doors, he made have made a quick fix*** *** is not advertised as having or TV as it is not available in that area yetWe list on our web site items provided such as toilet paper, paper towels, towels/linens, etcWe only ask that you clean up after yourselves and secure your trashI appreciate you taking the time to voice your concerns and I hope you enjoyed the beautiful *** *** areaWe have lots of other cabins to choose from with much more amenities and hope you will return to visitthank you

We are sorry for any inconvenience that the hour power outage during their stay may have caused, however, our policy still stands.? Our office and phones were out also, as was our home, which means we had no cell phone service either? We are located in a rural, forested area?
The guests were never in any danger and were not stranded as they had a vehicle.? We did not tell the guests they had to call the utility company.? When she called and used vulgar language with my staff and myself, yes we hung up the phone.? As for what to do in a power outage, we are at the mercy of the power company, so we told her if she wanted to yell and scream she should call South Central Power? Lazy Lane Cabins cannot control power outages, it was in the middle of the day around 3:30pm and came back on at 7:26PM in most locations and about 7:in all others?

While we do have the occasional mice and even chipmunks and squirrels scratching in the walls of the cabins, we have NEVER had a rat, let alone 15 rats.   The issue was not reported to Lazy Lane Cabins office until the morning of check-out.   So, at  their departure we sent...

our maintenance crew to the cabin with 10 mouse traps and in 2 days we never caught one single mouse.  We had no prior complaints to the Hicks' stay, nor any complaints since their stay.     Yes, the cabin was exterminated just the day before their arrival, so spiders, etc were on the run.  The cabin was cleaned and prepared for their arrival and I apologize if they found some mouse droppings which most likely occurred during their stay.   The cabin is located on 25 acres surrounded by woods so mice can be an issue.  I have emailed the guests a discount certificate for a future stay, but we do find this claim invalid.
