Review: I went to LC Nails to get acrylic nails but the man who owns it kept trying to talk me into getting the more expensive gel nails. I was trying to explain to him that I can't afford them right now as I don't have a full time job but he kept pushing until his wife said something to him. He kept grumbling and complaining as he did my nails and was very rough. When he was done applying the fake nails, I asked him to round out the corners a little so that they weren't so pointy at the edges. The next thing I knew he was roughly filing my nails digging into the cuticles and HURTING me! I kept saying OW! and he continued but I stuck it out until I noticed that he was filing my nails into points. I asked him to stop and fix them as I didn't want claws but he proceeded to tell me that my nails were messed up so he couldn't do what I wanted. He insisted that the shape of my natural nails underneath dictated how the fake nails have to be shaped which I know is not correct because I've had it done before. One of the ladies came over to check out my nails and tried to intervene on my behalf but he kept yelling at me and telling me that he knew what I wanted. He would not let up until I began crying and then had to leave because I was humiliated. My mother had to stay until her pedicure was done at which point my niece had to come get money from me to pay for their services. He informed them that they were welcome back but that I was not. I have no intention of ever returning to that place of business after the way I was treated. I had to go to another nail place to have my nails fixed and they were surprised both with the size nails he used on my fingers and the shape he filed them into. I felt he was being petty and vindictive because he wasn't getting as much money from me as he wanted. Please do something about this guy as I'm sure he's done it before and will do it again.Desired Settlement: I would like someone to investigate this matter and make sure he doesn't keep treating paying customers like that. Customers should get what they want, not what he wants them to have.

I am writing to you today in response to the complaint # 9740316 which I received from you on October 4th 2013.

First of all I do remember this particular customer whom has chosen to lodge this complaint against me and my nail salon.

This customer has had her nails done by me prior to this complaint. Prior to the complaint she also was not happy with how her nails were done but did pay for her service at that time.This last t9ime she was not charged for her service after complaining about how her nails were done. I did try to explain to her that the problem was primarily her own nails, but she isn’t receptive to this type of explanation. At this time I did ask her not to return to us for further work due to her ongoing dissatisfaction with how her nails were being done by me at my salon.

This customer has a particular problem which makes it very hard for us or any other nail salon to do her nails to her satisfaction. She only has 2 full nails on her 10 fingers. The other 8 fingers have only partial nail growth which does not give us the proper foundation for proper attachment of the false nails. Due to her irregular nail configurations we must start with a thinner false nail than we would normally use. This is why at the end of the false nail process, she cannot have the long, wide finished nails that she would really like to have.

I am sorry if the customer was offended in any way, but I am obviously unable to satisfy her to her standards

I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint.

I have indeed had my nails done by this particular establishment in the past which is why I am unable to understand why this time was such an issue. I have not until now had any kind of problem having fake nails placed on my nails regardless of how long my natural nails are. In fact, I have been able to have my nails fixed by another establishment since this and they have turned out fine. The problem I had was that the man who did my nails was very angry that I did not want the gel nails that I usually get. Unfortunately, the gel nails are more expensive and I couldn't afford them at that point in time. He kept pushing until his wife finally got him to stop but then was very rough with me afterward. This man was very rude, yelling at me and telling me that my nails were at fault for the way he shaped them. Checking with another nail salon confirmed that he used nails that were too small and shaped them wrong. I suspect that he was trying to ensure that I would have to come in to get them fixed/repaired sooner than was necessary so that he could get more money. The fact is that gel nails cost more for the initial application and upkeep which is something I couldn't afford at the time. This also made it so that the salon made less money on me. I have had issues with this person in the past because he is very pushy and does exactly what he wants instead of what the customer asks for. He also humiliated me, my mother and my niece with his treatment of us and has lost us as customers as well as anyone I've been able to inform about this incident. This man does not accept responsibility for his actions and believes that it is okay to treat customers like this but it is not. Without his acknowledging that his behavior was inappropriate, he will undoubtedly continue to treat his customers in such a heinous manner.
