LCM Filing

I was contacted by an individual from an unknown phone number who said I had an urgent civil court summons that required my immediate attention and I should call a phone number which they provided me with (that phone number was ). Upon calling that number an individual who (eventually) identified himself as *** claimed to be an agent of the court to serve me with notice for a court summons. He then stated that if the issue was not resolved immediately that someone would show up to my home and/or place of work to handle the court matter. After some time I discovered he was a debt collector attempting to collect a debt. he said if I tried to take the matter to court it would cost me upwards of $2,000.00 but if I paid now it would cost me $600. When I asked him to identify himself he said he did not have to and the matter was about me. When I asked for an account number for the balance he was referring to he said he did not have it handy. I asked again for his information and he simply hung up. when I called back, I was able to get information regarding the business for this report. What is much worse is they began to call every member of my immediate family regarding the issue. My mother, father, brother and sister were all called from these people after I had spoken with one of their agents as a clear effort to corner me into paying them to make the issue go away. They were clearly aware of what they were doing because I have not live with any of my family members for over a decade and none of the phone numbers they called were land lines for old residences.
