Recent stay that was supposed to be a couple of days of relaxation became nothing but anxiety Price was extremely high - with tax nights close to dollars with a second room costing close to 1, Room was advertised as ocean view- barely an ocean view and over looking the courtyard and food service café - directly above which was failed to be mentioned when making reservation Upon check in we had no spot to park in the lot as it was already full- even though it advertises one car per room Enter my room- Door chain (which is obviously there for extra protection) was ripped off- missing- bathroom had huge crack on the floor by the shower- raw- not a hook on the back door or one hook to be had to hold one towel or a place to put a facial bar of soap- scary stuff For the price they should be ashamed of themselves- I am fair and don't mind paying when the accommodation is equitable but management had no interest in making me happy at all The attitude was this is Montauk price is price and everyone else is paying it(which I don't believe because the rates almost seem arbitrary- other patrons told me they paid much less I respectfully requested some type of monetary compensation and was flat out told to leave and go elsewhere or possibly be provided a hook or soap dish That was so insufficient and insignificant in the big picture The next day my husband was told to double park by the lot attendant because again there was no parking and the person whose car we had parked behind came at us yelling and screaming I felt unsafe barely slept (beds were horrible) but the reason I barely slept was so I can be on guard to protect my family since the door chain was broken off I can only believe the room was accessible with force and worried that someone could get in overnight It is like a campground experience without the camp ground price The apathetic attitude of management will catch up and then the "great" location can no longer speak for itself I informed management that due to my unhappiness and my horrible feeling of being so overcharged for the value of what we received I would be writing as many reviews as possible and telling as many people as I can to re-think their motel choices in Montauk and once again no reaction whatsoever I can respectfully say that is no way to run a "better business" Thanks for the forum
