Review: After trying to square away the final bill while getting myself prepared for my wedding day (which no one ever came to my bridal suite to take my check) I was in the end handed an invoice for $1600! They decided without my permission to open a tab for whatever liquors were not included in my package and BILL THE BRIDE & GROOM Instead of TELLING me I would run a tab for whoever ordered something different, they purposely never came to get the final payment for me because they knew in the end they would stick us with another bill. My guest ordered a few shots of Hennessy and conveniently they ran out of it then decided to offer [redacted] instead which they could bill us for! They never explained it to me or to the guest that we would be billed!! Nor did they collect from the guest as they ordered like common practice! When I sat with the owner she was a complete nightmare, we felt ambushed by the staff! , I explained in almost tears we never were explained we would pay for what wasn't included in the package and if she could reduce it somehow, she refused Finally I became so emotional I offered to pay half until I settled my thoughts (after my wedding day) and since we had a very early flight to catch. I walked over to the owner [redacted] explained what we had decided and she snatched the check from my hand and said you're not worth it!Desired Settlement: Since they failed to explain the additional charge during the 10 months of planning and all the correspondences and even on the day of our wedding. I don't see it fit for them to keep the $800 I paid to them for the amount I owed them for a tab they started without my consent. I signed the contract with them not my guest.

Response:
The wedding package/contract chosen by [redacted] & [redacted]
called for "Cordials on request
to be Charged by the Glass". Not only is this clearly written on the contract signed by [redacted] but pricing was discussed
with the banquet managers in
advance, in order to put a price package
together for the affair before booking becomes
final.
The day of the wedding
the Groom and his groomsmen
started ordering Cordials
before the ceremony, the banquet manager served at
least three rounds of cordials
and asked about payment but was instructed
by the groom to put on the tab. Throughout the affair the groomsmen
and guests drank cordials.
Also
the bride & groom forgot to include themselves
in the number count which had to be added onto the final bill along with the cordials ordered
on request.
When the captain
of the wedding presented the final bill of $1600.00
it included $314.00
for the extra (2) persons
and the cordials.
The bride was upset with the extra charges and her attendants became very vocal, the captain
had an upset bride and a bridal party that started to create a scene. The owner discussed with the captain
and they agreed to reduce
the bill to
$1100.00 to diffuse the situation but when [redacted] came to leave she handed the owner a check for $800.00.

This final bill is not given to the bride until the end of the affair all extras are tallied, in this contract
extras would be the cordials.
When the wedding
ended the Maitre d' of the wedding
presented the final bill of
$1674.80, it included

for cordials. (Inc. tax & service)

to leave she handed the owner a check for only $800.00, which was not the agreed

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
[Your Answer Here]
I was never explained that the "charge by request" would be billed to me furthermore my husband never agreed to be billed that evening. We would not have been surprised or angered by the final bill if that was the case. The fact of the matter is the contract was signed by me and not anyone else however I was never informed of any final balance until the end of the evening. The statement that I "handed" the owner a check before I left is an insult, she snatched my check from my hand and told me I was not worth it which despite it being the most disrepectful statement to anyone, should in fact close our deal.
I would like to move into the second phase of this complaint, I will not be lied to about the events that occured that evening.
