Attn Revdex.comI spoke with our Business Operations Manager who had a conversation with Ms*** on April 25th. I have attempted to contact Ms*** to discuss the matter but she has not responded. The center of her dispute is that the books she ordered were sent
to the incorrect address However, her agreement for the order reflects the address the books were shipped to. I am willing to discuss the matter further should Ms*** wish to do so

May 28, 2015    RE:               [redacted]Case ID#:     [redacted]     Dear Ms. [redacted]:Le Cordon Bleu (“LCB”) located in Portland, OR, and its parent company,...

Career Education Corporation (“CEC”), received notification from the Revdex.com on May 26, 2015 that a complaint was submitted by consumer [redacted].  Upon receipt of the notification, LCB began a review of the allegations found in Mr. [redacted]’s complaint, and provides its response below. Mr. [redacted] enrolled into the Associate of Occupational Studies Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts program on May 27, 2014.  Mr. [redacted] began his program August 18, 2014 and withdrew April 8, 2015.  Mr. [redacted] alleges LCB improperly charged him tuition, and that he should not have been billed tuition for the second academic year beginning in April 2015.  The last tuition charge posted to Mr. [redacted]’s account was on January 14, 2015.  We reviewed Mr. [redacted]’s student ledger card and tuition charges were properly posted to his account.  Mr. [redacted]’s Enrollment Agreement that hesigned May 24, 2014 reflects the total tuition amount for his program is $37,000 and the program length is 84 weeks.  Mr. [redacted] was charged $440.48 each week of his program ($37,000 / 84weeks).  Mr. [redacted] attended a total of 30 weeks of school, and therefore, was charged $13,214.29 ($440.48 * 30 weeks).  Mr. [redacted] paid for his tuition in student payments, grants, and Federal Stafford Loans totaling $12,448.00.  As a result, Mr. [redacted] still owes LCB $766.29 ($13,214.29 - $12,448.00) for tuition charges.    Mr. [redacted] also alleges he raised this complaint regarding his tuition to LCB and CEC personnel but has not received a response.  [redacted], Campus Business Office Manager, spoke with Mr. [redacted] on May 21, 2015 to explain the tuition charges; however, Mr. [redacted] did not accept her explanation. Pursuant to the findings of our review of this matter, the tuition charges posted to Mr. [redacted]’s account are appropriate and a refund is not due to him.  Copies of Mr. [redacted]’s Enrollment Agreement and student ledger card can be made available to him upon request.  If you have any additional questions about this response, please do not hesitate to contact me at [redacted].  Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Mr. [redacted]’s complaint. Respectfully,  [redacted]Compliance and Ethics InvestigatorCareer Education Corporation

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:Thank you for your reply Ms. [redacted].  I am aware of all of the info you provided, and here are the 3 points that I am disputing.1) The standard tuition and length of the Le Cordon Bleu (LCB) Associate program is $37,000 and 84 weeks.  However a significant adjustment was made to my particular program course due to college credits that were already accounted for with my previous Bachelor's degree.  There were a number of courses that I would not have to take at LCB and was already given credit for.  I'm sure these adjustments would change the standard formula ($440.48/week) that my balance derived from.  I've asked several employees of LCB and CEC ([redacted], and [redacted]) for an accurate breakdown of my actual tuition and program length but no one was ever able to provide one.2) My account ledger, which I have reviewed in detail, shows that the tuition for my 1st academic year was 12,448, billed in two parts: $7,606 on 8/25/14 and $4,842 on 10/29/14.  My ledger also shows that the entire $12,448 was satisfied through Federal loans, Bleu Grants, and credit card payments.  The 3rd tuition charge on the ledger of $8,299 on 1/14/15 is apparantly billed in advance for the 2nd Academic year, which began in April. I should not be responsible for any charges related to the 2nd academic year, being that I notified LCB via email that I would not be returning back in March.  Simply put, I was billed in advance, but not credited in full for the advance bill. Advance tuition charge ($8,299) - Amount deducted on the last line of my ledger ($7,532.71) = the erroneous balance ($766.29).  I've also asked several employees ([redacted]) for an explanation/breakdown of the $8,2999 tuition charge (what classes and/or length of time did it cover?) No one was able to provide this either.   3) Although my request to be de-reigstered may have been internally processed on 4/8/15, I have email documentation informing LCB faculty that I would not be returning after the last day of classes of the 1st Academic Year, which was 3/25/15.  This discrepancy in dates may also be contributing to the invalid balance, since you explained that the balance is prorated by the number of weeks I was considered to be enrolled. Lastly, after weeks of unreturned calls and emails, [redacted] did in fact reply. Only after I emailed her with the LCB campus director, [redacted] copied as well. I did not accept her explanation because she did not provide one.  She actually responded with the same exact information that I had given her 3 weeks prior.  She also was unable to provide a point of contact for me to address the questions that she was unable to answer (above).  Her disinterest was even evident in our email thread, where she repeatedly asked for my contact number, even though I provided it to her several times already in the same thread. Please review these details as I am sure we will finally be able to reach a sensible resolution.  The email threads that I referred to above can also be forwarded to you if necessary.  Thank you.  Sincerely,[redacted]

Review: I called classes and said I wasn't going to be able to start. I just received an e-mail requesting me to pay $135 for 2 books I never received. The books were sent to an address I haven't lived in since September 28th, 2013. The books were sent after I cancelled classes and they never made it to me. Why would books be sent after cancelling classes? I just spoke to 2 ladies who were extremely rude and I was told I am going to be responsible for these books. I graduated from Le Cordon Bleu [redacted] in 2011 and I was extremely happy, never had an issue but this has just ruined my experience. I am going to be taking this to court if something is not done. Those 2 ladies need to go through training and learn how to talk to others.Desired Settlement: I don't think I should be responsible for books that I never received and were sent AFTER I cancelled my classes.
