PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE OR THEIR BRAND
I never do reviews but the experience I had drove me to this extent. I don't want others to experience what I had. The customer service from the manager when I tried to address the issue without being nasty although I was absolutely upset he was rude! . I don't understand who they have all the stars that they have now when I Yelp reviewed.
I came to Le tache to buy a gift that a friend want for their birthday. Since Le tache is the only adult store that I knew of in the area I decided to go there. The girl at the desk was very knowledgable about the products and very pleasant with helping me decide which toy to buy since they didn't have the one that I seen in a picture online. I was skeptical on purchasing the product because of the price but since it was something my friend really want I went ahead and bought it. She offered the warranty and explain the exchange policy. I understood and declined the warranty. I looked at the warranty as something to have if something would happen to the toy down the line and wasn't necessary to buy because I spent enough already on the toy.
My friend finally received her gift at her surprise dinner on Saturday. Went to open the toy and where the battery compartment was it was all rusted out. She told me she tried different batteries and it still didn't work. Quite naturally I was upset about it because I spent $60 on this and it didn't work. A complete waste of money. I called the store because I was upset about the purchase. I'm on vacation and it's 4am where I'm at currently and was looking to speak to a manager about this issuse. Although I was upset I was not rude I asked to speak to a manager his reply was "who is this?!" I said my name. First off who does that? A place of business would at least answer with their store name and who it is and ask how may I help you. He wanted to know who I was first and then I had to explain the nature of my call. When I say the man was rude, he was rude. I know the man who was on the other end of the phone was possibly the manager or owner because the employees have said the manager is a male. He didn't not care about my issue what so ever. He did ask about the warranty if I purchased it and also asked when I purchased the item . The exchange policy is only online because of the nature of their product,BUT if the product was never used because of it being defective the customer should be refund regardless. The guy on the phone said if there's a problem with the product you have to send it off,if it's found defective by them they'll refund you then. So if you are buying something for some one from this store as a gift it needs to be open within the 7 days of purchase without it being warranted and "IF" they find it defective then you might get your money back. I can tell this man on he phone didn't care about what I had to say and I believe that's where I became more upset. There's a few of this chain also called MVC spread across VA and they all sale the same products. I never experience s[redacted] customer service by an owner like this. The co-workers who work straight 15hr shifts without a break have more class and courtesy than he did. The ironic thing is my friend that I purchased this item for use to work for this store she told me a few things but I didn't know it was this bad and if I would've known I wouldn't have purchased anything from them. She told me that they sometimes they don't mark stuff down until after a year and that's why they have stickers on stuff, but if you don't know the colors and sales they just charge you full price. This was after she found out where I purchased the toy from because of course it was a surprise gift.
To me that says a lot about the integrity of this company Le Tache/ MVC. They don't care about the customers, employees, or their products! All they care about is taking your money not having a satisfied customer. I hope this long review helps someone before they decide to purchase from this company. They might say I should've purchased a warranty, but their warranty is probably defective as well because they are downright shady. There maybe a loop hole in that too. I might not get my money back, but like I said I hope to saved yours.

+1

I recently had a similarly regrettable experience with Le Tache/MVC in Northern Virginia. The in-store employee was nice and helpful. The female toy I purchased was defective in its design. The only way I could find out about the defect was to open and inspect the product. Now, I can't return it or exchange it because of the nonsensical "no return, exchange, etc." policy and even the acceptance of an exchange item is at the company's discretion. The one-year warranty price is approx. 10%-25% of the purchase price and is on a sliding scale based on the product price. A variable warranty price is ridiculous. The fact is you get screwed whether or not you purchase the warranty. Looking at the money I'm having to chalk up as a loss on this purchase, I don't with La Tache/MVC. It's challenging enough to muster up the courage to go to an adult products boutique. To have a bad experience resulting from it makes the whole experience regrettable.
