I'm the homeowner of a property in San Antonio, my tenants notified me of a rotten egg smell coming from the drainage system of the house. So we called MaiVU Plumbing to come out and take a look.
This was their responce, and chaged $190 for their 'service.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------...⇄ />
Plumbing:
Plumber ran water in order to drain tank,
Removed all 3 canisters; cleaned & inspected the filters, None giving any odor.
Rinsed canisters and reassembled.
Recommendation:
If odor continues we would need to replace the tank or the entire system.

Remove and Replace Entire Reverse Osmosis System under Kitchen Sink.

Right away things were not adding up, even assuming the reverse osmosis filter was bad it couldnt possibly cause the entire drainage system in the house to smell. So from 1000 miles away I googled "what causes a drainage system to smell like rotten eggs" and found the most likely cause to be a buildup of sulfer bacteria in the water softener's salt tank. I then called the tenant and asked them to open up the tank; and after a 5 minute phone call and 10 minutes on google we had our answer.
I have asked Mai Vu Plumbing to refund their service fee because their plumber, a certified professional could not determine the cause of the problem when I who have no plumbing experience and not even in the same state could figure it out. They have not.
To others I would highly recommend going with a different contractor. The people these guys employ obviously do not know how to do their job and chage outrageous prices for their service ($190 for a 30 min visit).
[redacted]If you have a similar problem where you're noticing a smell coming from your drainage system I would recommend checking your water softener salt tank first. You can call the system's manufacturer and have them come out and professionally clean the tank.
