"Still too high" resulted in another 25% since it was spring and before the busy season. I told him no, but would think about it and he started to leave, BUT he forgot to call his boss. After explaining my objection was purely price, a miracle occurred! A big commercial job was going on in the area and mine would be extended the volume pricing, if I installed in the next 4 days. (So the final offered price was 30% of the initial quote)
I told him to leave as I wouldn't do business with a company like that. I suspect the life time warranty would be a bear to get fixed.. I had GutterGlove Leaf Blaster Pro installed at 18% of the original Leaf Filter offer
I replaced my roof only to find out that Leaf Filter did not fully install all of my filters on my home that was purchased. I also found out that the improper install of the system left my wood behind my gutters exposed for 2 years making it the wood giving access to rodents. Purchasing this junk has cost me over $20,000 and I am still doing repairs from the damage the rodents have caused please save yourself the trouble and do not use this company once they get your money and have you owning a finance company they do not care.
My neighbor was looking out for another neighbor and asked if he could do his for the same amount. The installer agreed and so did the 2nd neighbor. WTF. I didn't report it, because my neighbors are friends, and the installer was just hustling upside money. Good for them. I'm the sucker.
The install went smoothly, and he took care of my neighbors homes the next weekend.
I never went onto the roof to inspect his work. I felt I didn't need to with their claimed lifetime no hassle warranty. During the first rainstorm I had to go up on the roof to see what was going on. I had rain shooting off of my valleys like hydro tubes at a water park. There was a section of LeafFilter that was missed and not installed at one of the dormers as well. I called LeafFilter and after a few weeks they finally sent an installer to add valley diverters that were not initially installed and installed the missing section of LeafFilter at the dormer.
The next rainstorm and it was the same. I let it go for some time. The LeafFilter does not self-clean like the salesman's demonstration showed. The Douglas fir needles will cover the whole length of the filter, and you have to get onto the roof to blow off said needles. Good luck getting LeafFilter to come and clean them as promised.
Wait a minute. I got these so that I won't have to get on the roof ever again. Another claim LeafFilter makes.
Finally, we had enough. We wanted our money back. After going back and forth with them for weeks, to months, they sent another installer to inspect how the installation. The installer, (which by the way are subcontracted by LeafFilterm and wants the job so he gets paid) convinced LeafFilter that the LeafFilter product was installed incorrectly so the reluctantly okayed him to remove all of the product and re-install it. There is literally no difference between how it was and how it is now, except the installer did away with the valley diverters. He said they were unnecessary and that they can cause rainwater to run back under the roof shingles potentially causing damage.
Here we go. We gave it another try. With regular rains, sheets of water are again coming off the valleys. The other night we had a monsoon type rainstorm. The LeafFilter is once again plugged with Douglas Fir needles and the valleys don't have diverters, so all the rainwater shed off of the roof and flowed down the sides of our home where it pooled into a foundation well until it reached the foundation vent and buckets of water made it into my deep crawl space where we have built a storage room. I had to remove buckets of water from under the floor in my crawl space.
At this point LeafFilter ghosting us. Due to the potential of our foundation being undermined and damaged, we must remove this product and go in another direction and seek a refund through legal action most likely.
Stay away from these guys. There are better products out there. You are going to get what you pay for though.
I would love to submit videos, but for some reason I'm unable to ): I've only got a couple of pictures.
1. They're plastic-framed. They'll melt and capture embers.
2. The fine metal mesh catches dust and grit and plugs up the entire gutter, which then stops functioning.
3. They're flat, no slope, and water runoff cannot clean them "naturally".
Horrible decision, I could kick myself. I'm not normally that susceptible to "slick" sales tactics, but this guy was really good and he tricked me.
By keeping gutters clog-free, you prevent costly home damages. LeafFilter is also backed by a lifetime, transferable warranty and is the nation’s largest gutter protection company. For these reasons, we hope that you see gutter protection as a valuable investment on your home. 1. PUT YOUR LADDERS AWAY. What a joke! In order to reach one section that WAS Clogging with leaves you had to walk on the roof. How do you get there?
2. WE WILL LEVEL AND ADJUST YOUR PRESENT GUTTERS. Another example of FALSE ADVERTISEMENTS. In order to have gutters flow to the downspout they installed a second downspout that was NOT code compliant. I had to pay for another contractor to correct the situation. WHY? Because they would not admit to the problem.
3. NEVER HAVE TO CLEAN LEAVES FROM YOUR GUTTERS. Another false advertisement. The low area on my gutter collected water and leaves on the leaf filter which "rotted out" a section of my roof. Cost $1300 to repair. You cannot talk to anyone from Corporate or Local. All they will do send out a Serviceman who admitted the installation was bad.
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM LEAF FILTER!
Pitch is wrong
Drop is wrong
Gutters are bent
Screens are twisted and bent
Screens installed at an angle outside of the gutters
Downspout installed without elbows
White zip hinges installed on brown gutters
(installer told be where I COULD BUY PAINT to make them match)
Downspout pieced together with two short pieces
There is more but you get the idea my nightmare started in 06/22; its now the end of 09/22. RUN AWAY... Save yourself!
Now its rained and the water rolls over these micro filters like a ball. I feel sick about this. They are done guessing how to fix .
I called customer service an asked them to come and check it out. They set up a time for a service tech to come and he never showed for the appointment. I call once a week for several weeks and finally one Saturday a tech showed up out of the clear blue. He did a great job taking pictures and checking thing out and said the system was installed improperly and needed to be redone at no cost to me.
Another tech texted me a week later and we setup an appointment for him to come. He never came. I sent him a text asking when he would reschedule. He was very apologetic and said LeafFilter sent him a different direction. He had made the appointment not LeafFilter. I believe because mine was a warranty job there was no money in it for LeafFilter and so they sent him elsewhere. I haven't heard from LeafFilter or a tech since and don't know if the warranty work will ever be done. I am very disappointed with the Very Poor Customer Service from LeafFilter.
I have to modify my above review. Since it wrote it, the techs from LeafFilter showed up and recleaned the gutters, reinstalled the filter properly and calked the areas that hadn't been done before. They did a great job! I would change my above rating to at least a 3.5 or 4 star if this site would let me.
