Is anyone planning to sue LeafFilter for poor to no service?
If you are planning to sue LeafFilter please include me. We've been trying to get service since May 2021. Phone support sucks...no answer most of the time and Angela is rude. Our gutter issue is simple but getting someone to call back or help is the PROBLEM. LeafFilter has a Lifetime Guarantee which means we should sue them for negligence, damages, lying, and breaking their contract/agreement. I did not want to click any star for "satisfaction rating" but the program forced me to choose 1.

I was a sales person for this company. I know how they work and yes they direct sales people to lie. I left the company very, very quickly. Sue them. I’ll help you if I can!

I'm in, we should get a group together to sue them nation wide. The salesman wrote on my invoice maintenance free for life, I asked, for anything? His reply was yes, anything. I called customer service and their response was "95.00 service charge", heck I could have paid someone local 95.00 to clean my gutters twice a year and still come out better than what they charged.

No accountability for a bad job
LeafFilter instead of replacing my gutter had to come back to patch MANY holes in it. So much for the free gutter inspection. They'll tell you anything to get them to buy the product. Sorry I did it & in reading other complaints, realize I am not alone.

Shady Salesman & No Inspection
I called in January 2021 for new gutters. Bob, the salesman did his "inspection" from the ground on a 3 story house using his cell phone to take pictures. I told him the gutters were bad and the water pours out of the back gutter when it rains. He said they were fine except for a small gutter that was crushed by a tree falling on it. I received a overpriced amount for the work and was then given a deep discount. More like he inflated the price to make it sound good and sell me the leaffilter system. I was willing to do both. Once the first rain came, my back gutter was still pouring water onto the siding of the house. The worker came back and said "oh the gutter is full of holes. thought it was something we did". I said "no, it's because of something you DIDN'T do which was replace the gutter". He said they didn't notice. REALLY over 20 holes and a day on a ladder up close and you didn't see them! They were all patched, but I wanted a new gutter in the first place. I called the office & complained, wrote a letter and still have not received any type of fix. Would not recommend them unless they replace that gutter for "free".

Their 'lifetime guarantee' Is only for one year.
After that. They will charge you to come out to clean your clogged gutter, that's never supposed to clog because of the filter.

When the original gutter was installed, there is a metal corner piece, that has now dead leaves and dirt on top of the filter. The water spills not over that section, but a half a foot away from the gutter section. It doesn't catch the rainwater and it pools on the ground.

He came out. I showed him the warranty card that states "We will fix the issue if it ever clogs." Spoke to a lot of company people and refused the work, because I didn't want to pay, for an issue, that never supposed to happened.

They lie. Don't use them

cant get in touch with leaf filter
I have had leaf filter out to my house 3 times to fix my problem I have called left messages and all I can do to get in touch with them and still no one comes out or answers or calles me back about my problem they need to fix or give me my money back and take this crap off my house

Valley Guards Clog
When we bought our system in 2014 we were told "we don't want you on your roof, if the valley guards clog just call us, we'll come out", and a couple times they did, even suggesting on one area to change the screen to the more coarse version so the water enters more easily. So I call today 6-25-21 and am told they'll come out but it's now a $95 service charge! They referred me to the local office, that does NOT have a local number (only the 800 number) to "waive the charge" at their discretion - I told the woman that if not waived, I'll stand in front of their booth at each home show with my iPad showing a video of the overflow to their prospects! Too bad, most of the system works well, but this little "surprise" will really cost them!

Leaf Filter Rip Off
My neighbor and I both had Leaf Filter install gutter protection a couple of years ago. What a total waste of money. The dirt off the trees in NC will completely plug up the screen in no time at all. Their warrantee is useless. They sent a representative out, went on the roof then told me he would talk with his superiors and get back to me. We never heard from them again. They even lied to the BBB telling them they had settled with us, They never ever contacted either of us. Total Rip Off

I am a victim of leaf filter! It has damaged my home all the way around my house! I have called and called for the last 18 months trying to get them to remove filters and repair my house but no one every called me! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Donna

LeafFilter Price Gouging
I had a LeafFilter sales rep come to my home for an estimate. He quoted $12,650. I told the rep I would consider the price after I received 2 competitive quotes. As he was leaving, he dropped the price to $6,000! So, in effect he was ripping me off for $6,250 at a minimum. For me, these practices are an early warning of a potentially bad experience. Essentially, this company is installing pieces of plastic. The product cost and associated labor can easily be calculated and offered on a formal rate sheet. That would be the professional approach.

Poor product & installation
We had LeafFilter installed in February 2020. We were pressured into a quick sale & very quick installation. We have had several issues with this product bowing in the middle, as I do not believe it was properly installed. The company has sent installers to our home on several occasions. The product looks ok now, but since it has only been a few months, I am concerned about how it will stand up under the weight of leaves in the fall & heavy snow. I have asked for a partial refund or compensation for this faulty product in writing, and have asked for the company to respond in writing. They have left several phone messages, but have not responded in writing. The trouble with phone calls, is more pressure.

They did work for us after talking with them at a Senior Expo. So friendly, ha! They told us we would not have to climb up and clean out the gutters anymore. That is a laugh. The gutters look bad. They also told us when they came out that they couldn't use the good stuff because our home was a mobile home. So they had to put something else on that they just happened to have on the truck. Sure! They had talked my poor husband into getting this done and we also got the high price, then lower, then lower and he also was a Veteran so a discount was due also.

The salesman was so aggressive I did not want to do it but he talked my husband into it.

We already had guards on the house!

Not happy!

Told us the same exact thing about never having to climb up and clean gutters again. We need to get a large group together.

Very pushy sales person would have probably bought the product if not for the sales person. Should have probably looked at this web site before I booked the appointment. The sad part is that my daughter was in her room and hear this sales person yelling me of why I did not feel comfortable to buy this product from him.

Hi, Joel. We're disappointed to hear that you had such an experience with LeafFilter's salesperson. Would you provide us with a reference number and phone number so that we may reach out?

We have been working with the customer to address the issues they reported and had a service technician there last week to make any needed repairs and inspect the system We have confirmed with the customer that the most recent visit was positive in reference to the work that was done as well as the technician that performed the work and now the customer is just looking forward to a much needed rain

Before agreeing to installation I asked them to make sure our gutters were in good shapeThere's no use putting gutter guards on bad guttersI was told by Buddy [redacted] they were perfectly fineAfter the first rainfall we found they leaked immediatelyThey did not leak before Leaf filter did their workI called or times to complain, they came out each time to seal the gutters and promised each time it would workIt hasn'tThey promised first thing this spring they would fix the problem - this after I got the buffalo News involvedthey cancelled times before finally coming outWhen they finally came they called Michael [redacted] ( Installation Director) and he told me my gutters were deterioratingThey are aluminum, they don't rustAgain they were asked before installing their product if the gutters were okayThe contract states they would seal gutter with yr silicone and that they would repair damaged gutters.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Yes the work was completed they did offer a compensation But on Monday 8/29/a gentleman came out to inspect the work as my gutters needed to be repitched as they do not drain well and it was stated to me on Saturday Aug 27th that they were fine I am waiting for a response from Leaf Filter as to when the work will be corrected I am planning to call them to day to see if they have a plan of action to correct the gutters.Regards, [redacted]

Originally submitted this form to wrong company site
Am resubmitting because company is not out of business, I have a business card from this site
They stated upon payment that they would resolve an issue with one of the gutters they put on if our roofers felt it should be changed
I have sent several emails and have had no response.
We would like the gutter fixed/changed
They have received payment and we are not satisfied
They need to fix this issue

LeafFilter Response • Dec 10, 2019

We are scheduled for service on 12/10/19.

October 11, 2019 we sent certified letters to the owner of LeafFilters Matthew *** and another employee. As of November 14, 2019 we have had no response. The videos and pictures we have of this failed product will now be post on social media for viewing.
We had the LeafFilters installed on June 12, 2019, and as of November 2019 we are still waiting to have major installation problems corrected. Purchasing this product has turned out to be a nightmare and we wish that we would have saved our money and simply paid a handyman to clean out our gutters.
When we signed our contract we believed that the installers would be LeafFilter employees not poorly trained sub-contractors. The first crew that came to our home was looking to pad their wallets by re-pitching our perfectly aligned gutters that never held water. Not only were the gutters re-pitched incorrectly, but they also damaged my roof and fascia boards. Despite my frequent and strong objections the installers just kept saying, "Don't worry this will not cost you more money. We get paid more when we have to re-pitch gutters." When we were sold this product we were told that they would clean the gutters out, and do a water check to see if the pitch was correct. The water check was never completed; the installer just changed the pitch against our wishes.
After many phone calls an inspector came and looked over the job. He said it needed to be redone and took many pictures. A second crew came on August 7th. This crew was comprised of LeafFilter employees who told us that all they have been doing is repairing work that was not done correctly. They had to redo the entire job and realign the gutters. This crew said that the product was not installed correctly and the gutters were re-pitched incorrectly.
After the second crew left we were hopeful the problems were corrected. We still have one gutter on the front of our house that is severely damaged and still not functioning correctly. This gutter is bent so badly and pulled away from the house so far that when it rains we have a waterfall between the fascia board and gutter. We can see that the flashing is behind the gutter. You can look up and see sky between the house and the gutter. We have taken pictures and videos of the waterfall we have when it rains. If not corrected, in the winter we are going to have major icing problems. We had our first heavy snow fall on October 31. 2019, when the snow started to melt we had water between the fascia boards and gutter dripping onto our driveway leaving ice on the cement. The rest of the gutters all have icicles hanging and dripping.
Additionally on the inward corner of the roof when it rains the water flies over the gutter a good two feet onto the patio and does not drain into the gutter at all. When we asked about that we were told that was normal, and there is nothing to do about it during heavy rain. This is not what we were told when we purchased the product and it is unacceptable.
We were scheduled for another crew to come and fix our gutters on October 8, 2019. The crew was a no call/no show to do the repair.
I am a very disappointed customer that will have to pay another company to come and replace my gutters. At this point LeafFilter product will be removed with the damaged gutters.
Having this product installed on my home wasted my time and money, caused damage to my home, and caused personal aggravation and stress.

I signed a contract with *** representing LeafFilter North of Wisconsin on 3 August 2019 for installation of filter on house gutters. I must be present when filters are installed. If I cancel the contract, I must pay LeafFilter 25% of the $4,600.00 contract ($1,150.00). Installation was rescheduled a minimum of five times. 2 contractors for LeafFilter have arrived at my house and completed 3 small segments of filters on my gutters . LeafFilter has now cancelled the contract.

LeafFilter Response • Nov 19, 2019

We sent the customer a message on 11/11 stating the contract has been canceled.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
LeafFilter signed a contract to install their product on my gutters. By signing the contract, I assumed they are a reputable company and would fulfill the terms of the contract. I had to remain on site six days waiting for LeafFilter to arrive and install their product. Installers either did not show up, or arrived and did not complete the job.

LeafFilter installed three small segment of filters on my gutters. Now LeafFilter says they can not honor their contract because of the pitch of my roof or the angle of my gutters. Either LeafFilter is untruthful concerning being able to complete the job, or have installed gutters that will not work.

Since the contract LeafFilter signed requires me to pay 25% of the contract price if I cancel the contract, I request LeafFilter pay me the $1,150 for their cancelling the contract.

Regards

On 7/21/19 a wind storm dropped part of a tree on my gutters that Leaf Filter installed along with the Leaf Filter system. I filed a claim with mu insurance company and once I received the check contacted Leaf Filter Service Dept and a Rep came out on Aug 19th. Since that time it has been very difficult to get on the schedule for repair and to get the actual repair done.
I was quoted 2340.00 for the repairs.
The following is my communications:
***
Aug 20 transferred from Service Dept No answer VM Full
Aug 22 No answer VM Full
Aug 24 No answer Left a aVM
Aug 26 No answer VM Full
Aug 27 No answer VM Full
Sep 4 Asked when I would get on the schedule, I would get a call back
Oct 18 1st callback new repair date 11/1
*** Sep 5 *** transferred to Jon from Service Dept, expressed my frustration about not getting on the schedule and not looking to pay what was quoted due to not getting and service
Sep 5 Text from *** “ I will call you tomorrow with a date for the repair”
Sep 6 no answer VM full
Sep 7 Text from *** “ Sorry for the delay I was out of the office in the afternoon with a family emergency. I need to setup a installer to dot he gutter. I will speak with the OP manager first thing in Monday morning.”
16 Spoke with Sean repair date 9/23
23 no show I called unable to reach anyone left a VM
Oct 1 no answer VM full
Oct4 asked about the repair date, I would get a call back
Oct11 no answer VM full
Oct17 asked about the repair date, I would get a call back

I have been scheduled for 2 repair dates:
Sep 24 my father and I were home all day no one called or showed up. I tried calling to find out what happen No Answer, I left a VM.
Nov 1 My father was home all day, no one called or showed up. That leads me to this complaint.
I had these gutters and filter system installed spring 2018. They work great. I just do not understand how when they need to be repaired I cannot get them repaired.
I explained I could have had the gutters fixed a long time ago with a local contractor but he does not want me to do that because leaf filter needs to do the work. Due to the leaf Filter System. If that is the case why can they not fix the repair the quoted me on.
I paid 8k to have these gutters and filter system installed and that is more than half paid for.
I am not one to not pay to have service done but why am I expected to pay 2340 when I cannot even get anyone on site to do any work.
I work for a Local Utility and I know the IMPORTANCE of good quality Customer Service and Repair. There is NONE in my case at this time. I feel I have been very patience with this and my patience is now gone. I am not going to call the numbers back and scream at anyone because I have been on the receiving end and once you get screamed at you loose interest in wanting to help the customer. That's why I am here.
I am ready top remove all the Leaf Filter out of the gutters and they can have them back.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

After filing my complaint I received a call on Nov 5. I was not able to answer (at work), they called my father and explained they would be out on the 6th to do the repairs.

Just about all the work was complete. The gutters and leaf filter were replaced. The down spout which was apart of the quote (2340) was not replaced.

There was no adjusting the price of the quote even though it took 3 months to get on the schedule for the repairs to be done and a down spout not being repaired.

I believe 400 off my quote would be fair. NO ONE should have to work so hard to just try and get of hold of someone just to get on a schedule. NO ONE should have to file a complaint with the Revdex.com to get results.

At this time I have no reason to accept Leaf Filters resolution to the matter and at this time I highly would not recommend their services to anyone.

Regards

We were sold leaf filter product along with downspouts and installation. We were informed that a crew would come and install; and we were informed the crew would be confidant, know the product and know what was necessary to complete installation as discussed during the sales. The salesman created a detailed document to inform the crew which downspouts to replace and in which direction they should point as well as any other information the installers would need. The salesman also informed that there would be no reason for us, the property owners to be onsite, as it was outside work and he created detailed information/documentation. Also, we the property owners informed the salesman we would be happy to wait for the installation, however, he persisted that the crew currently needed some jobs; as the other jobs were scheduled out. It was the salesman that picked the date of install and insisted all would be well.
Our sales document states the approx.start and completion date to be 8.15.2019.
In reality, the company cancelled that date and rescheduled to 8.31.2019.
We were confused as that was Labor Day Weekend and why would they work that Saturday, but, again this was all on the company. On the day of service, one man arrived to do the work. This individual had several questions about how the downspouts were to be installed. This man also only worked a couple hours stating he did not have all the supplies and would need to come back next week to finish.
Complaint 1: The man who did the install, each day he was at the house, he kept waking myself, the owner, I was trying to sleep as I work 3rd shift, but he had constant questions as to which way the downspouts were supposed to go. He stated he had problems reading the diagram.
Urgent Complaint 2: The downspouts were ultimately put on incorrectly. We believed the installer would know what he was doing. We believed the original salesperson that a crew would come and the job would be done in a day.
Now the downspouts are leaking. The downspouts were connected incorrectly as they are not flowing into each other. Also, one of the downspouts is disconnecting on the top elbow after the last snowfall and as the snow is melting.
We have 4 downspouts that need to be fixed and replaced as these new downspouts are damaged due to installer. The water is leaking at the top and we are concerned for damage to our house including concern about water leaking into the basement. Several of the downspouts have at the area of connection, an opening, as the one part of the downspout was crunched into the other part. The product itself is damaged from the installer.
NOTE: after several calls a representative from Leaf Filter came out to our house and checked the work/ product and agreed the downspouts were not installed correctly.
Please Understand: We have called numerous times since he came and inspected the work to no avail. The company is no longer answering the phone when we call and the company is not contacting us as to when this situation will be fixed.
We have a payment plan and we are paying for the product and service even though it is not correctly completed.

Revdex.com:
Leaf-filter finally did send someone to complete the incorrectly installed downspouts. This person only fixed 3 of the 4 downspouts which had been incorrectly installed.

However, I will fix the final downspout myself as this company is not dependable.

The final downspout did not have a proper sized area created from the gutter so the downspout so it could be appropriately attached. This is the downspout that actually had split when after a melting snow and then it turned to ice. So, at that time I already had needed to make some fixes to the area as Leaf filter was not coming out to our home in a timely manner.

Leaf filter product - is a good product or I would not have purchased it. However, the sales seems to be faulty in that promises of a full and knowledgeable crew for the installation did not happen. Corrections to the original installers mistakes did not happen after several attempts at contacting the business until finally going through the Revdex.com. And then still the corrections were not fully completed.

We are extremely displeased with this companies representation of themselves and the actual physical labor with the work. The product is fine.
