League Of Conservation Voters Reviews (2)

November 24, 2014Dear Ms. Horne:
The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) has worked to turn environmental values in web; national, state and local priorities for over 40 years. This begins with increasing voter participation. To this end, LCV used publicly available records from...

the Michigan Bureau of Elections to help remind voters to vote in the 2014 midterm elections. When a voter registers to vote they complete a form provided them by the State of Mic' which includes their voting address. This information ts public information as is the f! or not a registered voter voles in ensuing election(s). For more information see the foil” Michigan Department of Stat e webpage answering the question “Is my voter record av the public?’' with a yes. Who someone chooses to vote for is private information and not public. In the LCV r to vote, there was no information regarding who [redacted] or anyone else chose to v prior elections. Voters do not always get the distinctions between what is public info what is private and this can sometimes lead to situations like this one. We understand voters enjoy being reminded of their voter participation record or having others know whether they vote. However, these kinds of reminders have been proven to increase v J participation, and as such are used by many organizations looking to increase civic enIn summary, we emphasize that no private information was contained on the mailer it: it attempt to collect any information. As a courtesy, we will be sure to create a “do not flag in our system so that national LCV does not send [redacted] future reminders of nature.Thank you for the opportunity to more fully describe our program,Sincerely,Rich T

Review: Received a card/flyer through the U.S. Postal Service with my voting record for Nov 2010 and Nov 2012 printed on it for the world to see. I am not affiliated with this organization in any way, shape or form! For them to garner my voting record and then print it on a card is beyond violating my privacy as a voting citizen of the United States. I feel violated that some pseudo organization has knowledge of, and then shared my personal voting history with anyone who came into contact with this card. This is wrong beyond measure. I feel my right to privacy has been severely violated.Desired Settlement: This is for Revdex.com records, but this org is not a member of the Revdex.com currently. I, as a tax paying U.S. citizen do NOT want my personal information available, let alone used by unauthorized people!
