I was auto renewed without knowledge. Was not told anything about it before when signing up but it is listed in terms and conditions to cover tracks.
I ordered a month of delivery service. After the first month I received another meal delivery. Contacted company to tell them there was a mistake and they told me there was no mistake that everyone is set to auto renew as stated in the terms and conditions. They withdrew in total $700+. They refuse to refund me the money that has not been used which currently totals about $600. They said I will be forced to use their meal plan service for another month. After removing the auto renew from the account and telling them I won't be continuing service my issues have increased. They are supposed to deliver two days worth of meals overnight so you can get it on your doorstep in the morning. After telling them I was going to cancel the following delivery didn't show up. I emailed them showing them on their website that there was no delivery of the food. I received no email response but after I sent the email they added a delivery charge for the day and had someone deliver a food bag to my doorstep sometime after 9AM and it sat in the sun for a whole day. I have emailed them several times now regarding the issue of the spoiled food from yesterday. It is now almost 11AM the following day and still no response from their customer service team. They list their no refund policy in their terms and conditions so nobody will see it and then they don't tell you about the auto renew when you talk to them. I sent them multiple emails 3 in total before they ever responded for the first time. After reading reviews on yelp I see that many people have been burned by this company in the exact same way. A policy that will end in you being charge $700+ should be verbally discussed and not hidden in a terms and conditions document.

Desired Outcome

I would prefer for the company to refund me my money that they took without telling me they would do so. According to them I am forced now to continue using their service for the next month which I really can't afford.

Our renewal policy and cancellation policy are explained on our website, in our welcome email, in our welcome guide, and, in addition, this client signed up online and had to check the "Terms and Conditions" box which states that all accounts will automatically renew and no refunds will be given. We had communication trouble with this client as he did not want to receive a phone call, yet did not appear to be receiving our emails. All emails sent to us were responded to in less than 24 hours and we attempted to reach him by phone as well. The late delivery to which the client is referring affected one of our delivery routes, as there was a mechanical issue with the delivery vehicle. The deliveries occurred after our guaranteed delivery time of 7am and, in instances like this, all clients affected are credited back their orders and their delivery fees. Due to the difficulties with communication, this client was refunded remaining balance on account on September 27th of $692.78 and his account cancelled.

They did not tell me about the auto renewal in my Welcome call. They hide the auto renewal info I the terms and conditions which less than 1% of people will read. You can look around at different reviews I am definitely not the only one that was surprised by auto renew. They definitely did not respond to my first group of emails as I am an IT professional emails don't get "lost" in space after sent. They ended up refunding me in full which is what I wanted in the first place but there was no need to string it along and should've been done from the get go. Obviously there was no real issue with refunding me they just wanted to hook me for the next month if they could.
