We were scammed by a homeowner who sold us their home rent to own, they told us they owned the home outright and we moved in remodeled the home and landscaped the yard during the years we lived there

[redacted] contacted us about a home she was interested in, completed an application and paid a deposit to hold the home so we took the home off the market. We did our due diligence and found out she had been evicted from her previous rental due to non payment, we found out she was actually renting a...

motel room and she lied on her application regarding her income, the number and type of pets, number of occupants and ages. [redacted] refused to give us her last landlord or employers information when requested due to information was not on the application. We told [redacted] due to the number of discrepancies on the application and lack of documentation that she was turned down for the home and she gave us a deposit to take the home off the market when she gave us the application. [redacted] was not truthful about several items on the application and questions asked and due to taking the home off the market we lost other potential Tenant Buyers for the home so the payment was not refundable. Due to [redacted]'s erratic behavior we were forced to contact the Scottsdale Police Department to have her escorted off the property, she is high risk and unstable and we have blocked all contact with her. [redacted]
