I called him several times in late summer/early fall and he kept promising that he'd come out and he still has not showed up. He offers a warranty on his workmanship but it seems that it will no longer be honored.

He has his phone set to not accept calls. It's been like that for weeks now.

LeBlanc Roofing LLC failed to complete job, resulting in water leakage that caused significant damage. LeBlanc also applied unauthorized chemical.2/18/2015 [redacted] of LeBlanc Roofing LLC agreed to clear the snow and ice from our entire roof, thereby safeguarding our home from leaks caused by ice dams. 2/19/2015 - 2/26/2015: [redacted] and/or his crew worked on removal of snow/ice from our roof for a total of no more than 6 hours. We noted that [redacted] was frequently latefive to seven hours than what was scheduled, which he attributed to the severity of damage facing other clients. 2/26/2015: [redacted] asked for payment in full; we remarked that he only cleared part of the roof, pointing out that there were a few areasone in particularthat looked like a potential hazzard from apparent ice dams. [redacted]'s response was that the area in question would not be a problem, that the ice would soon melt and all would be fine. This conversation was four days ago, and this morning, 3/4/2015, we awoke to water leaking from that same area of our roof that he assured us was fine. Our ceilings, walls and floors are saturated. On Angie's List, LeBlanc Roofing claims to provide 24 hour/Emergency Service; we placed a panicked call to [redacted] at 4:25 am telling him of the leak and asking that he contact us about fixing it asap. At 11:00 am, [redacted] responded to an email I sent him via Angie's List, claiming to be out of town and unable to get to our house until tomorrowno time specified. Meanwhile, water continues to wreak damage.A second complaint about [redacted] is that we made it perfectly clear that we did not want him to use any chemical on our roof without first being told what he intended to use so we could look at the ingredients and verify the safety of the product. We told him this twice, and twice he said he would not put anything on our roof without first clearing it with us. In spite of these reassurances, he did, in fact, apply a chemical without our prior knowledge. We came to learn this fact when we questioned him at the time he came to collect payment; he admitted to the chemical application and when asked, provided us the name of the product. When we looked up its safety warnings, we saw that it was not recommended on porous surfaces, like the asphalt shingles of which our roof is made.He never showed up when he said he would, he did but a fraction of the job he was hired to do, he used a harmful chemical that brings risk of future roof problems, and he failed to clear the snow and ice dams that ended up in roof leaks causing an untold amount of damagethe very thing we hoped to avoid by hiring [redacted] in the first place. On Sunday, 3/1/2015, we spoke to [redacted] on the telephone, reiterating our concerns about the areas where he failed to remove snow and ice. He agreed to lower the price from $2250 to $2000. Despite the fact that we still questioned his statements about the safety of the remaining snow and ice, as well as the fact that we were worried about potential dangers we might be faced with from the chemical he used, we agreed to pay him the $2000. The check was mailed on Monday, 3/2/2015. This morning (3/4/2015), when faced with the severity of the leak and inability to reach [redacted], we stopped payment on the check. We believe that [redacted] should pay for a roof inspection by a licensed, reputable company of our choosing, pay for the cost of repairs to the roof he failed to clear, and pay for the damage that ensued as a result of his failure to clear that area of the roof that he insisted was safe.Desired SettlementWe believe that [redacted] should pay for a roof inspection by a licensed, reputable company of our choosing, pay for the cost of repairs to the roof he failed to clear, and pay for the damage that ensued as a result of his failure to clear that area of the roof that he insisted was safe.Business Response The customer complains that LeBlanc Roofing, LLC didn't complete the job and also applied unauthorized chemicals. Both of these allegations are false. As anyone in New England knows, the XXXX-XXXX winter had the highest amount of snowfall in over 10 years. Calls for ice dams and roof clearing to all area roofers were at intense levels. LeBlanc Roofing, LLC was able to handle the demands of its customers with the assistance of its substantial crew and its expertise in the industry. On February 18, 2015, the customer called. The company agreed to clear the snow in the problems areas of their roof and make ice channels as necessary. The customer was notified that it would take 2-3 days to complete the job. However, the customer also was notified that [redacted] provided next day service on leaks. The customer owned a very large home in [redacted], MA. The customer was informed that a safe and environmentally friendly liquid de-icer would be sprayed on some ice spots in order to assist in breaking it up. The liquid de-icer is safe and recommended for fiberglass asphalt shingles The de-icer was used sparingly on selected areas of ice. Between February 19th and February 21st, a crew of 4 to 6 men removed snow from all sections of the roof except for one section which only had 2 inches of snow on it. Ice removal and ice channels were made exclusively by [redacted]'s principal roofing expert. The work was completed in 3 days as [redacted] promised the customer. On February 24, 2015, the customer called with a complaint, saying that the back door was snowed in. While the company made clear that snow from the roof was only removed from areas that were previously shoveled, the company returned on February 26, 2015 and shoveled out the back door as requested. On February 26, 2015, the customer inspected the work and claimed only that a grid insert on a first floor door had been damaged by the company. The company pointed out that the grid was rotten and had failed as a result. The customer made a payment of $2,000.00 on March 1, 2015 toward a bill of $2,250.00. On March 4, 2015, the customer claimed that a roof leak arose. A response email was sent to the customer that same day and repeated follow-up phone calls were made to the customer. None of these forms of communication were returned by the customer. It should be noted that there was precipitation between February 26, and March 4, 2015 and that [redacted] was not hired to remove snow or ice for any precipitation that occurred after the job was completed. In short, the company performed all of the work that it said it would, as promised and on time, in a very busy season. The customer requests payment for "the cost of repairs to the roof he failed to clear." This is illogical in that if the roof was not worked upon, the company could not damage it. Secondly, the section of the roof that had only 2 inches of snow upon it was not likely to result in any water damage. It should be noted that upon inspection, the customer was notified that certain roofing work that pre-existed [redacted]'s work in snow and ice removal needed to be done. While a roofing inspection might be in order by the customer, it should in no way be the responsibility of the company because any necessary repairs obviously pre-dated the storms. Consumer Response [redacted] states the following: "The customer was notified that it would take 2-3 days to complete the job."[redacted] started job on 2/20/2015 and finished on 2/26/2015, which is seven days. However, a couple days work started after 5:00 pm and ended just after 6:00 pm, so these instances can't be considered "full" days.[redacted] further states the following: " . . . the customer also was notified that [redacted] provided next day service on leaks."At 4:25 am on 3/4/2015, we placed a panicked call to [redacted] telling him of the leak and asking that he contact us about fixing it asap. Not having heard from him by 10:30 am, we emailed him via Angie's List. At 11:00 am, [redacted] responded by email via Angie's List, claiming to be out of town and unable to get to our house until tomorrowno time specified (please see messages copied below). [redacted]3/4/2015[redacted], Water leaking from roof, ceilings, walls and floors saturated. Please call asap. [redacted] and [redacted] XXX-XXX-XXXXLeBlanc Roofing LLC3/4/2015I am out of town till tonight I can get there tomorrowWith water streaming in and saturating our ceiling, walls, and floors, we needed help immediately. Luckily, we were able to locate a roofing contractor that came out and completed the job that [redacted] failed to complete, removing the ice dams that caused the leaking. [redacted] also states: "A response email was sent to the customer that same day and repeated follow-up phone calls were made to the customer." Our phone records provide a complete history of phone calls made and received, which we can reproduce and provide if needed; the one and only call we received from [redacted] was Thursday March 5, XXXX X:XX PM EST 38 seconds. He left a voicemail stating that he hoped we were able to have someone come out and fix the problem. Thus, although [redacted] states that " . . . the customer also was notified that [redacted] provided next day service on leaks," [redacted] failed to return our call, much less fix the leak, within 24 hours.[redacted] states: It should be noted that there was precipitation between February 26, and March 4, 2015 and that [redacted] was not hired to remove snow or ice for any precipitation that occurred after the job was completed. The weather for [redacted], MA can be verified on weather.com: http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/KBED/2015/2/25/MonthlyCalendar.html?... Feb. 26th and March 4th, the precipitation is reported to have been a total of .3 inches. This amount pales in comparison to the amount of precipitation that occurred inside our home due to the ice dams that [redacted] failed to remove. As far as costs are concerned, the area of the roof in question is not the area to which [redacted] refers as having sustained damage prior to [redacted]'s arrival; rather, it is the area featured in the attached photosthe same area that we pointed out to [redacted] and were told there was nothing to be concerned about, that the "ice would melt and it will be fine." The resulting damage requires repairs be made on the interior of our home, repairs for which we wish to be compensated.Final Business Response Dear Ms. [redacted]LeBlanc Roofing, LLC responds to the allegations recently made by the [redacted]'s as follows:1) The job was completed between February 19, 2015 and February 21, 2015. On Saturday, February 21, 2015, [redacted] knocked on the door and rang the doorbell so that the customer would have an opportunity to inspect the completed work. LeBlanc Roofing later learned that the customer was home on that day and simply refused to answer the door. Had the customer answered the door, any complaints could have been addressed on that date. The customer's response refers to alleged problems that occurred subsequent to the completion of the work that LeBlanc Roofing responded to.2) While LeBlanc Roofing does provide next day service on leaks, [redacted] did have to be out of town for a scheduled roofing seminar on March 4, 2015. Mr. [redacted] promptly notified the [redacted] of that fact by email. Moreover, there was no agreement to provide new services at this time.3) The customer admits that LeBlanc Roofing called on the next day March 5, 2015 at 1:28 P.M., but the customer never responded to this call to request services.4) Customers in their response admit that there was precipitation between February 26, 2015 and March 4, 2015. Yet, the true period of inquiry is between February 21, 2015 and March 4, 2015. LeBlanc Roofing does not concede that the precipitation reported is accurate for the [redacted] house. It should be noted that standard industry practice is to create superficial ice channels through gutters so as to avoid damage to the gutters themselves. LeBlanc Roofing had offered to rent a hot water power washer unit to totally remove ice from the roof and gutters, but customers declined such service.5) Customer has not paid for the job.Thank you,[redacted] P.
