Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
Glen states he paid more than $for his tanning package, the business has not offered any compensationThis was a pre-tan for a vacation, he would like a refund
Regards,
*** ***

Lectric Beach is closed just five business days per yearThese are religious/national holidays. A sign was psoted the week previous to Easter reminding patrons Lectric Beach would not be open on Easter Sunday. We do not add days to tanning packages. If that were the case, we would
have to add additional days on to every client who purchases a month or year package and it would an exhaustive task within our database. We are sorry Mr*** is not pleased with our policy, but he purchased a week of tanning for $and tanned six days in a row before the holiday. Returning after the introductory week was finished and purchasing a full value session does not require a refund, as he did in use that session. We regret any misunderstanding

Consumer states he was not informed that on Easter Sunday (the 7th day) he would not be able to tan. The attendant that was on duty the Saturday prior to that Sunday told him he could tan on that Monday. He would like his money back for the session he paid for.

Business states again that the consumer purchased a week package, not 7 sessions. They were closed on a religious holiday, signs were up. He came in on his own volition on Monday to tan. There will be no refund.

I have been tanning on and off at Lectric Beach since it opened in South Milwaukee. I tan before vacations, so I don't use the facility regularly. Any time I have gone to this location I have been greeted and treated very well. The employees are helpful and advise me on my plans to tan as safely as I can.

Review: On Monday 3/30/15 I purchased a 7 day consecutive tan package. I tanned for 6 days straight. The 7th day was Easter Sunday and they were closed. I was told by an employee to just come in on Monday for my 7th visit. On Monday they told me my visits expired because they were closed on Sunday. So I paid for 1 visit on Monday thinking I would be reimbursed for that day. The owner told me I lost my 7th day because of the Holiday. No paper receipt was given.Desired Settlement: Repay the money I paid on Monday $7.70 for my 7th visit. I dont want a day of free tan. I want my money refunded. I refuse to patronize a company that treats customers like that. It's not about the money its about the principal.

I just joined here because I found out they have a red light bed. The salon is clean and it's right on the bus line. The woman there was very professional and knowledgeable about red light and regular tanning - I learned a lot about the condition I am trying to treat. They have parking if I bring my roomate with me and you can bring guests every single weekend!

Review: We had 6 month contract. Forgot to cancel so called to cancel. Went in on Aug 12 to cancel and advised them we cancel and you no longer have authorization to debit our account. On Sept 3 they took money again. I called [redacted] the owner and he advised me "that's how we do it. The company who processes our payments says you have to go through another additional cycle before we're allowed to stop charging you" their services have not been used since end of April. He offered me a free month. I have months I've already paid for and haven't used. I want my money back for the month they took money out of my account after I terminated their right to do so. He refused.Desired Settlement: Refund of 21.99 they took without permission and for them to change their dishonest policies for taking money from customers

Response:

Lectric Beach Tanning Club is able to offer unlimited U.V. monthly tanning in the client's choice of three types of tanning equipment at all four of our metro-Milwaukee locations because we utilize an EFT program that automatically withdraws dues from a client's account on the first of each month. The system is efficient & cost- effective for us to collect dues from the thousands of tanners we have acquired over 27 years & convenient for clients who have uninterrupted low payments, total weekend guest tanning privileges & 20% off all product because they are continuous Club members. Our Smart Tan-certified staff informs all members at the time of sale, that should they wish to cancel their membership, they must do so on or before the 1st of the month they want to be their last payment. In addition, this policy is clearly stated on the price boards at every store, on our business cards & on our website too. The client in question signed & received a written EFT agreement that specifically spells out these terms & acknowledged his final payment date on a separate cancelation form with his legal signature, after specifically initialing his final payment date for Sept. 2014, so of course that payment went through. Although it is not our practice to retro-refund dues that are collected for active tanners, we have in fact returned this client's final payment after learning that he has moved too great a distance from Lectric Beach to use the final month he paid for that we offered on a gift certificate to be turned in at his convenience. We want to thank this client for being a patron & wish him the very best.
