When we repaired the system, we found two issuesFirst, the indoor induced voltage device was weak on the indoor blower motor and second, the outdoor induced voltage device was bad on outdoor unit, which operates the condenser fan motor and compressorThis was a correct repair because the system
started cooling after our technician left, which before it wasn’t. As stated on the invoice , because the outdoor induced voltage device was bad this can cause “either the fan motor or compressor to fail.” When *** came back the next day, he diagnosed the fan motor had finally failed which we suggested may happen as stated on the invoiceWe diagnosed this for “no additional charge” and gave a price for a Trane OEM fan motor*** also gave a price for a full replacement per customer request*** never told the customer he agreed, “the problem was obviously not fixed.” He told the *** “the fan motor had finally failed.”It is now apparent they had someone else change the fan motor as they stated, which is fine, but we had already stated failure may occur as we diagnosedOur Trane OEM motor is more expensive than a universal motor which was most likely what was installed againThe universal motors usually only last a couple of years, which is what they had when *** first diagnosed this possible failureThe Trane OEM motors usually last 10-years. We cannot reimburse the customer for refrigerant and its service fee, washing condenser coil, and the indoor voltage device since those are still being utilized. We offered to consider refunding the price of the outdoor induced voltage device if it is brought back in its original condition as installed so we would be able to test the old induced voltage device that they claim is goodWe would also like to see a copy of the other repair and or diagnoses invoices and have requested them multiple times. We have asked the *** multiple times to let us see the part they said they had checked by other licensed HVAC technicians, but each time our request has been ignoredThey also will not tell us what specific part it is- refusing to tell us what size it was or if it was from inside or outsideWe also offered to apply a portion of the repair cost to their replacement. The customer signed the invoice acknowledging the prices, terms and conditions and that they were satisfied with the work preformedThey sent us a threatening letter claiming if we didn't refund them in full they were going to go to the news and social media and slander usThey even stated in the letter that they were not going to provide us with proof of their claimThey have refused to show us ANY proof of their claims or respond to our requestsLee Air Services
