Lee Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric Reviews (6)

Review: We had a tankless water heater installed in 2005. They did not use the manufactures ventilation. The ventilation that was used broke down over time and ended up causing a fire in our water heater. Luckily, the water heater was the only thing damaged.Desired Settlement: A partial refund of our repair costs would be appreciated, but not expected. I want them to notify any other customers that they may have used this same ventilation on, so that they can prevent future fires.

Response:

Lee Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric did install a tankless water heater for this customer in 2005. We routinely install tankless water heaters and always install them to the manufacturer's specifications. We have returned numerous times to the customer's home for other issues and were never notified of any issue with the tankless water heater. It is difficult to comment on the customer's complaint since we were never informed of any issues and we no longer have records from 2005.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that there is no resolution, just close this issue and I will make sure to never recommend them again..

The service was okay, but their prices are really high, ridiculous even. I paid $740 to have a controller board replace in my unit. The cost of the board if I bough it would have been $235 dollars that means I paid $505 in labor. To replace a control board takes about 45 minutes to an hour. So their cost is $505 an hour WOW. Avoid this company at all cost!

Review: lees's plumbing was hired to replace old sanitary sewer @my home 10-21-08.the old sewer was to be replaced with new pipe within 6 feet of street.they were paid .april 2013 sewage came up though drains in basement.I called lee plumbing ,they came unplugged sewer pipe &charged me .than I found out that they had not replace all the sewer pipe I had paid them to replace. they had stopped new pipe 14 feet from street. In fact there was standing water in new pipe because it was lower than old pipe. Lee plumbing said they would come back & complete job so I would not get sewage in home again.they have not returned.I have written letter &called they keep saying they will fix,but they don't.Desired Settlement: I desire to have sewer fixed so I won;t have sewage in my basement..I had to wash my basement with lysol to get bacteria & smell out. plus I had to landscape &plant after they left the 1st time.they need to do it this time.

Response:

We did replace the customers sanitary sewer in October of 2008. We pulled a city permit and had a inspection. The sewer was replaced as close to the street as a private contractor can get inside the city limits. I do know the customer still has water problems during heavy rains. Their storm water discharge is what's causing the problem. The solution is to get the storm water out of the sanitary line. You can tell by the landscaping and all the concrete that has been poured around the exterior of the house that the customer has been experiencing water problems long before we did any work on the property.

Re: Why I won’t be calling Lee next time
Dear [redacted]:
In the first half of September, I took a day off from my job so that a long-standing plumbing issue at my house could be addressed. When I arranged for Lee Plumbing to come out, I naively thought that the drain pipes and stack under the bathroom, which I had previously discussed with a Lee plumber when he inspected my house, would be replaced. I was not told otherwise until Dave arrived to “rod it out.” That day I spent $40 to get an estimate for a job that I had already asked to have done earlier in the week. I do understand the reason for giving the estimate first; I don’t understand the lack of communication.
When the day came for the replacement of two stacks, nearby pipes, and the laundry sink and faucet, nobody showed up until more than an hour after the time I was given. I was concerned that the work would not be completed and that I’d end up taking another day off work to accommodate Lee. So when 8:30 rolled around, I called to find out why no one was on site yet. I was told that dispatch had contacted the plumbers and was assured that I would be seeing them within a few minutes. One plumber arrived about 9:10. The other showed up around 10:00. It was not reassuring when that plumber expressed surprise an hour later that both stacks were being done.
After the work under the kitchen had been completed, the plumber came upstairs to remove the toilet so they could work on those pipes. He walked on the recently-cleaned floors in the kitchen and living room without covers on his shoes, having walked through the drops of filthy water that I saw on my basement floor and stairs from removal of the kitchen plumbing. This disgusted and infuriated me. To his credit, after I mentioned it he immediately removed his shoes, and thereafter both plumbers were careful to wear the covers upstairs.
The cleanup was thorough in the area under the bathroom, but the stairs, the bathroom itself, and the laundry area under the kitchen were hardly cleaned at all. I vacuumed up pieces of the old sink all over that room after they left. I considered making an issue of not paying until they cleaned up, as it states on your paperwork, but I just wanted to see them leave my home.
I’ve decided not to do business with your company in the future.
Sincerely,

I just called to get a Hot Water Heater. The first they could come out is four days from now. They said they could not tell me how much the heater would cost. They could 'bring one out', and could install but couldn't tell me even an estimate of the cost. Last time they came out to check on an electrical issue they disconnected the air conditioner to fix something else and said they would send an estimate to update the electical box. No estimate has ever come. The Customer Service on the phone has never been pleasant and I don't feel respected or important.

Had problems with tree roots clogging drain last year, after unplugged, had chemicals placed , recommended to have done on a annual basis. Paid $87.57 January, 2015. So far, so good.....called from company to schedule this service for 2016 and when job completed charged $178.00 for the same service!!! Should have been informed when called from Lee Plumbing to schedule service that, "oh, by the way, our price has DOUBLED!!" David [redacted]...is this anyway to do business??
