My family is putting in a fire pit and grill on our patio and after receiving a quote to install gas lines from *** *** *** in *** I looked elsewhere to get an apples to apples comparisonI found The Custom Fireplace Shop online and visited their shopAfter waiting around minutes or so I was helped by an associateI made an appointment to have Lee come out and estimate our job, Tim at the shop said to talk to Lee during his visit about the particulars of the project because they might even estimate the entirety of the job including hardscapes around the firepit and grill since it was a small job and I would already be spending $4,with their company on a grill and gas linesThis left me rather optimisticThey gave me a hour window, 8am-11am was the estimated time of arrival so on that day I stayed home from work to be there and explain the details of the job11am rolled around and I hadn't heard anything so I called in and they said Lee had already come by, knocked on the door and took it upon himself to look around our property, take pictures, and assume what to estimateNo phone call on his way over, no phone call when no one answered his supposed knocks, no phone call after his departure from either him or the officeThat was disturbing to me but hoping this lapse in communication was a fluke I still tried to follow up and see what we could do or if Lee could come back outWhen I spoke to the office after 11am they said they would return my call, no call returnedI called back the next day, they said they would return my call, no call returnedThen came the weekend, I called in and spoke with KathyShe apologized and said the people who know what was going on were not in until Monday so she would ensure I received a call MondayMonday came and went without a callI called in Tuesday, spoke with Jeff who said he would call me right backHe called me back Wednesday and told me Lee was not interested in doing anything beside the gas line, even though he had never acquired any real specifics about the job other than walking into our back yard and taking pictures while no one was aware of his presenceI can't speak to the quality of work The Custom Fireplace Shop performs but the communication with this potential client was appalling and I will not be conducting business with them as a result
