January 10, 2017Explanation of our position on this complaint # *** Customer bought pcs of RECLINING furniture to replace pcs of stationary furnitureThe crux of her complaint stems from the issue she lays horizontally on the sofa which was engineered to be reclined in verticallyEach
seat is a separate seating unit with support springs strategically placed under each side of the buttocksThese sections are connected to make the reclining sofaHowever, when laying horizontally the buttocks area is between the left facing recliner section and the middle section which is the crack between those sections and those cushionsThere is no way to have springs under that area because the sections have to move giving it it's reclining functionA stationary sofa has support across the entire seating surface but that cannot be accomplished in a reclining sofaHer other issue is the top of the sofa wobblesMotion furniture has to move to open up the mechanism unlike a stationary sofa that is one solid framework that doesn't moveThe hinged recliner mechanism has to move or "wobble".These are not manufacturing warranty issues, she just should have thought through her decision to buy reclining furniture instead of stationaryShe has a formal living room and she regrets not buying more formal looking furnitureHer comment on my "rude comment" that was far from rude goes to the point I could see she wished she had bought stationary furniture and offered to bring back the reclining sofa (which is the only pc she had issues) and order in a stationary sofa in the same fabric that would match the other pcsTo summarize my position, we should not be expected to lose thousands of dollars because the customer regrets the buying decision she made to buy reclining furniture and wants her money backFor weeks we never heard from her and even then, she reiterated she wasn't mad at me but was disappointed in the "poor quality" of her furniture in hopes I could justify returning her furnitureWould one expect a car dealer who sold a red car and weeks later the customer wanted to return the car and get a white one because she didn't like the red one?
