This customer came in to my shop to get his computer fixed because it was randomly shutting itself down.  We found out what the issue was and fixed it.  We charged him our standard rate of 59.99.  I called the customer and told him the problem was fixed but then offered him a upgrade...

package to optimize and tuneup his computer that would make it run 5 times faster then it was.   I explained that his computer was running slow on startup and that I could make it run better by doing a system optimization and check for spyware and virus’s. After I was done with the clean and optimization then the system would seem to be 5 times faster. The customer decided he didn’t want that service done and would come pickup Computer and pay the 59.99 service fee for fixing his computer from the random shutdowns.  I have been doing repairs for over 19 years and we are very good with the work we do and never had a customer complain about a service that they didn’t even get done by us.  This customer just wants to start a fight with my company and I think what he is doing is completely wrong

The customer is not a customer of ours anymore and he came in and we refunded his money and both decided not to work with each other anymore. To answer is his question.  My system optimization and tuneup that is done.  requires going into the registry of the computer and turning off items that are not needed to run so that the system can boot up faster.   We also run malware protection programs that remove any possible malware and virus's that could effect the speed of the computer.  We also check to make sure you have all the latest microsoft updates done.  Most of the updates and security updates that need to be installed so your computer is protected from possible intrusions.  Most of my customers don't know how to do any of this and they pay us for this service.  Most of the computers that come into my shop for repair as in for repair because the system is running really slow.  So I tell people that I can improve their system 5 time faster.  And I have 1000's of customers that agree with that statement.  This particular customer does not agree with my statement and that is fine.  I now have explained to him what I do to make a system run 5 times faster, and I really hope he can close this out and move on.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] P { margin-bottom: 0.08in; } In the interest of full disclosure, I have since been refunded the cost of the repair for reasons unrelated to the complaint, if the Revdex.com feels this is an acceptable resolution, I will abide by their decision. Below, I will respond to the business's comments. This customer came in to my shop to get his computer fixed because it was randomly shutting itself down.  We found out what the issue was and fixed it. We charged him our standard rate of 59.99. As stated above, I have since received a refund, this is also not what the complaint is about. I called the customer and told him the problem was fixed but then offered him a upgrade package to optimize and tuneup his computer that would make it run 5 times faster then it was. This is what the complaint was about.  I explained that his computer was running slow on startup and that I could make it run better by doing a system optimization and check for spyware and virus’sThis almost contains my requested solution, as such will be addressed below. After I was done with the clean and optimization then the system would seem to be 5 times faster. Note how the claim has already gone from 5 times, to “seem to be five times.”The customer decided he didn’t want that service done and would come pickup Computer and pay the 59.99 service fee for fixing his computer from the random shutdowns. No further comment. I have been doing repairs for over 19 years and we are very good with the work we do No comment.and never had a customer complain about a service that they didn’t even get done by us. Once again, this is not about the service itself, this is about its advertising, I simply wanted to know what the measure of “five times” faster was. I do not feel it is reasonable to be required to purchase a service to be able to ask for information about it, in order to make an informed decision as to whether or not to purchase it.  This customer just wants to start a fight This is kind of an amazing statement, any response can be taken as being argumentative and therefore proves it.with my company and I think what he is doing is completely wrong.I find that disagreements rarely arise when all parties agree something is right. As I stated, I wanted to know how the claim of five times was measured. Judging by the response it seems that the measure is time to start. As such I will offer up two possible sentences, that if copied and pasted back to me will completely resolve the complaint. “For the tune up, we measure speed as the time it take for the computer to boot from the press of the power button until the final startup program finishes loading.” “For the tune up, we measure speed as the time it take for the computer to boot from the entering of user name and password until the final startup program finishes loading.”

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] P { margin-bottom: 0.08in; } I feel as though me and the business are talking past each other, so I will offer up a Terrible Car Analogy in the hopes that my question will finally be answered. A customer hears that the 2018 Analogii accelerates five times faster than the 2017 model. The customer asks what they mean by that. An answer to the question in the analogy would be something like: The 2018 model goes from Zero to 60 MPH in 5 seconds, compared to 25 seconds in the 2017 model. The answer provided by the business was something like “We replaced the V6 motor with a V8 motor, and improved the exhaust system with titanium alloys.” Which while useful information does not answer the question. The closest answer I have at this point is: “So I tell people that I can improve their system 5 time faster.  And I have 1000's of customers that agree with that statement.” Which leads me to think the answer is that he receives his “Five Times” Figure by customer testimonial. I ask the business: Is the source of the claim that his service makes a computer five times faster a customer testimonial? If the Revdex.com is reading these correspondences, does the Revdex.com understand the question? And if so is there a better way of phrasing it so that I may receive the answer I seek?
