Lee's Tire & Wheel Reviews (1)

Review: I took my car to Lee's tire & rims to have front/rear brakes put on and a oil change done on it, in which neither was done correctly. My brakes sounded worse than they did before I needed them & a gasket wasn't replaced back right which caused an oil leak but in the process of them trying to get my brakes right (I was told by the guy that the brakes comes with a top coat on them now that has to be burnt off) he took my car flying up & down the road slamming on brakes saying that it would burn it off. In that process with the type motor that comes in my car he said it should get up & go but it kept falling on its face & my check engine light came on twice while doing it. We got back to the shop & he pulls up the code that came up during that time & says I need to call & check my warranty & other things that showed up on the code. (Something showed up about oil pressure) As soon as I left the shop & went not even 5miles away to my cousins house her daughter tells me that my car is leaking something & we realize it's oil. So I take my car back up there for them to look at it & when they raised it in the air there was oil covered from the front to the back bottom of the car. It had gotten louder & eventually resulted in my motor messing up in my car. They rechecked it & said that it had thrown a rod bearing (2011 Chrysler 200 with not even 50,000 miles on it). He first offered to get the guy that drove it to fix it then decided to get a better opinion than theirs because he said he didn't really know that "he was just pissing in the wind". I took my car to Pro-Automotive where he suggested. The guy [redacted] said that was it when I pulled it into his shop. It was knocking, ticking, & losing power by this time. He ordered the motor & Lee's them decided to turn it into his insurance company because he 1st told me he was doing bad & his bills & everything was behind so he didn't want to take it out his pockets. The insurance company took me through a long process of my car sitting for 3 months while they was doing their process as they tell me. Only to come back & say that they're not gonna fix it either. When I took my car there it was fine & never had any problems but now I'm stuck paying for a motor that they messed up!!Desired Settlement: I've been without a car for 3 months & finally just getting enough money to have it fixed as well as still making car/insurance payments. I would like to be reimbursed my money back for them messing up my car. There was no issue there until I took it to their shop. I've spent over $4000 & something should be done about businesses getting over on customers & not being held liable!!

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[redacted] has already said they would not be paying for anything back in June, so this is a past tense response from the business

Regards,

Business

Response:

We did request maintenance records from Ms. [redacted] which were never received. Since there is no proof that our insured actually caused the oil leak which lead to the engine damage we denied the claim. We have told Ms. [redacted] that if she wants to have her own expert take a look at the engine we would like to have our expert present also, and at that time we could re-address liability. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Thanks
