My friend ***, who lives in Evans, came to help me with my renovation and knew that I was searching hard for help with my increasingly urgent drywall finishingHe recommended Leffler ConstructionHe also called the business on Monday morning 07-20-and explained my situation to MrLeffler before handing the phone to me*** had introduced himself by saying that he lives in Evans and that he had learned about Leffler Construction at a Barber shop in nearby Eden; then he explained my need for a drywall finisher in CATTAURAUGUSWe absolutely did NOT give MrLeffler a locationWhen I was handed the phone I explained to MrLeffler that I needed work done in the small rural village of CattaraugusBecause of the distance and to expedite the process, we agreed to use a video of my unfinished drywall to determine his quoteAfter sending the video we agreed on a price that evening, still Monday 07-20-On Tuesday 07-21-we settled on a time frameThat day he wrote me in a text "I said Wednesday [for a start date] so I can finish by FridayIf it takes an extra day it's on me."We discussed the last week of July for work to be completed, no other week was discussed at allIt was very clear that MrLeffler was to schedule my project from Wednesday 07-29-to Friday 07-31-15. On Monday 07-27-MrLeffler called me and told me that he would need to start Tuesday 07-28-because his Wednesday 07-29-had become fullI readily agreed to an early start, and then he asked for my street addressWhen I gave him the street address, he didn't recognize the street and started listing landmarks to place itI didn't recognize the landmarks so I tried to describe where the Village of Cattaraugus is locatedIt was then that MrLeffler explained to me that he had thought that I lived in the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation rather than in the Village of CattaraugusI could see how it was possible to think of the Reservation rather than the Village of Cattaraugus, since the Reservation is closer than the Village of Cattaraugus to Evans, and my friend Mike had mentioned being from EvansHowever, there was never a location given to MrLeffler, nor was there any intention of misleading whatsoeverIt is his responsibility to clarify street address, before scheduling around itFor him to accuse me or Mike of intentionally misleading him is unfair and very irresponsibleAs many drywall finishers do, MrLeffler apparently likes to schedule two or more jobs per day (which allows material to dry between coats.) He had scheduled work in Evans and my work for the same daysThis created somewhat of a schedule conflict for himBut it was definitely NOT an impossible situationThe Village of Cattaraugus is roughly a minute drive from Evans, (Mike has driven it several times.) The difference between driving from Evans to the Reservation verses driving from Evans to the Village of Cattaraugus is roughly 1/hourNot a great situation, but definitely doableMrLeffler also submitted in his response to Revdex.com that another major reason that he did not complete the work that I requested is that he is not licensed for drywall finishing in Cattaraugus CountyI'm sure that's true, but I'm reasonably confident that no license is required for finishing drywall in the the Village of CattaraugusIf this was a real concern for him, he definitely did not make that clear to meAt NO point has MrLeffler expressed to me personally a concern about needing licensure in Cattaraugus CountyThe first I heard about his concern for licensure in my County is what he posted on Revdex.com.
